Chapter 10: The First Mana Measurement

Around the time Ars turned one and a half years old.

A certain customary practice was about to take place in the Shugeel count’s household.

A child’s mana measurement.

It was common for noble children to have their mana capacity and magical aptitude examined once during early childhood.

Of course, that didn’t mean they could actually use magic at such a young age.

The results merely served as a guideline for deciding how they should be educated in the future.

「It’s about time we had Ars tested as well.」

At those words from Father, Cain, the family gathered in the reception room.

A transparent crystal ball sat on the table.

It was a beautiful crystal, roughly twenty centimeters in diameter.

「This is a mana-measuring crystal.」

Our tutor, Rina, explained.

「By channeling mana into it, we can measure approximately how much mana a person possesses.」

Elze leaned forward with great interest.

「I did this a long time ago too!」

「Though mine only glowed a little.」
