Chapter 8: Numbers and Calculations

　A month had passed since I began studying with my private tutor, Rina.

　Ars had been learning the letters of this world a little at a time every day.

　Of course, I didn’t show everything I’d learned.

　I was careful to hold back as I studied, so that nothing seemed unnatural for a one-year-old child.

「Good morning, Ars-sama.」

　Rina-sensei came into the room with a smile again today.

「Awu!」

　I greeted her with a smile of my own.

「Today, instead of letters, let’s play with numbers.」

　They were something I’d used without a second thought in my previous life.

　But I was curious about how they were written in this world.

　Each had a number carved into it.

「This is ‘one.’「

「This is ‘two.’「

「And this is ‘three.’「

　The shapes of the numerals were different from those in my previous life.

　But the patterns were easy to understand.
