Chapter 777

Golden Agent of the Adonis (97)

Upon hearing Director Chen’s suggestion, Chu Xiang immediately agreed and soon took Fang Zhenxuan to the remote mountains where Director Ye was filming for the audition of the immortal character.

Although he was busy during this period, Fang Zhenxuan never slackened in honing his acting skills. Every night, he dedicated one to two hours to meticulous study and practice. His acting had made significant progress compared to his performance in The Legend of Noble Consort Jing.

Chu Xiang provided guidance on Fang Zhenxuan’s understanding of the immortal character, and Director Ye was quite satisfied with the audition. What sealed the deal for Fang Zhenxuan was his remarkable improvement during this period.

When Director Chen recommended Fang Zhenxuan to Director Ye, he also sent him clips of Fang Zhenxuan’s acting. Filming a movie was much stricter than shooting a TV series, and although Director Ye felt the performance was barely passable, Fang Zhenxuan’s audition showed clear progress compared to the video sent by Director Chen.

This showed that he was a talent that could be cultivated. He was willing to put in the effort to learn and was able to withstand the director’s polishing. Director Ye had him try on costumes as well. The immortal appearance that Chu Xiang personally designed for Fang Zhenxuan turned out even better than what Director Ye had imagined. They immediately signed the contract and let him join the film crew.

The fantasy martial arts film is called “The Quest for Immortality”. With the contract finalized, the production crew officially welcomed a new member and released Fang Zhenxuan’s character portrait.

This time, Fang Zhenxuan portrayed an immortal. He wore an ancient costume in a white color scheme, but the patterns and style of the clothes were much more exquisite and refined than what he had worn before. Combined with the most suitable hairstyle and makeup done by Chu Xiang, he casually stood there as if radiating an air of nobility, yet possessed a natural and ethereal charm that didn’t require excessive embellishment. One look was enough to convince people that he was an immortal.

Netizens were still immersed in the death of Zhou Yanjun and couldn’t let go, and suddenly they saw the character portrait of the immortal.

【…So my beloved Zhou Yanjun didn’t really die. He ascended to become an immortal, right?】

【He must have descended as an immortal to overcome his tribulations and then returned. When will “The Quest for Immortality” air? I want to see my Junjun!!】

【Don’t deceive yourselves. Congratulations to Zhenxuan for unlocking a new role. The immortal character looks great. Looking forward to the release of The Quest for Immortality!】

Two characters, one actor, and at this clever moment, invisibly connected “The Quest for Immortality” and “The Legend of Noble Consort Jing.”

It was at this time that Chu Xiang posted a pre-edited video on Weibo.

The video was edited using scenes of Zhou Yanjun from The Legend of Noble Consort Jing and Fang Zhenxuan’s ancient costume appearance from the second season of Extreme Mode. It was as if Zhou Yanjun had traveled to another dimension and made new friends. They solved puzzles and went on adventures together, bringing happiness that could overshadow the pain and sorrow of Zhou Yanjun’s unrequited love and death.

Chu Xiang’s accompanying text read: “Don’t be sad. The person you love is doing well.”

The distressed fans immediately noticed that Fang Zhenxuan’s appearance in the second season of Extreme Mode and in The Legend of Noble Consort Jing was exactly the same! Even the folding fan in his hand was the same!

It was as if this was the manifestation of their previous request from the show to have Zhou Yanjun fake his death and go to a distant place. Now, they seemed to see Zhou Yanjun having gone to a distant place, appearing on Extreme Mode under the alias “Fang Zhenxuan”, embarking on challenges with five other brothers.

The viewership ratings for the second season of “Extreme Mode” once again soared, and the popularity of Zhou Yanjun’s character from The Legend of Noble Consort Jing expanded. As a result, even the latter and The Quest for Immortality gained some attention.

Director Chen called Chu Xiang again, expressing surprise and admiration, “So, you were waiting for this moment when you created the same look. You had the video ready, didn’t you?”

Chu Xiang chuckled and replied, “Of course, a good work should be well promoted so that everyone can get to know it better.”

“Amazing. This is more than a win-win situation for you. When Zhenxuan has more works in the future, you might even be able to generate buzz together. Alright, next time I have a project, I’ll make sure to look for Zhenxuan. Remember to keep some time available.” Director Chen’s drama had skyrocketing viewership, and his mood was visibly good.

Chu Xiang readily agreed, saying, “As long as you ask, I’ll clear my schedule even if it’s full.”

Director Chen chuckled lightly. He truly had high expectations for Fang Zhenxuan’s future. The summer season was the period with the highest heat throughout the year, and it had already begun. Fang Zhenxuan’s “Extreme Mode,” “The Legend of Noble Consort Jing,” and “Love’s Dream Journey” were all airing simultaneously, with “The Quest for Immortality” releasing during the National Day holiday. It was as if he had taken over the summer season’s fervor. If Fang Zhenxuan could have some other works released around the National Day holiday, then he would dominate the screens with his high-quality works for almost half a year. If he still didn’t become popular during this period, then who would?
