Chapter 779

Golden Agent of the Adonis (99)

As a result, when the audience watches the sixth episode, they would definitely like Fang Zhenxuan more but wouldn’t be too fond of her. The more her fans protested now, the harsher the backlash she would face later. This feud would become a fan-abuse incident for Fang Zhenxuan, making his fans feel bullied by her fans, unconsciously strengthening their loyalty and cohesion.

Zhou Yuan understood this clearly but couldn’t come up with a solution. In the end, she could only discuss with the people in her studio, saying, “I’ll post a Weibo myself to appease the fans. I’ll say that I’m doing well or something similar and create anticipation for the next episode.”

The studio had no objections and said they would help her draft the content.

Little did they know, while she was working on the content, Xia Ze’s fans suddenly entered the battlefield and clashed with Fang Zhenxuan’s fans.

Xia Ze’s fans somehow received news that Xia Ze, the male lead of “Plot Twist,” was originally cast, but Fang Zhenxuan snatched the role. Who was Xia Ze? Even if he didn’t have any representative works, he was still a top idol at present with a large fan base. Who was Fang Zhenxuan? Just a newcomer who recently gained popularity. There were plenty of such young fresh faces who emerge every year but fade away after a while. How dare he snatch Xia Ze’s resources?!

Xia Ze’s fans couldn’t tolerate it. They were notorious for being difficult to deal with, and as soon as they entered the scene, the legal army, which was already engaged with Zhou Yuan’s fans, was momentarily taken aback. The main reason was that Xia Ze’s fans were unreasonable and displayed momentous fighting power. They attacked relentlessly as if they had gone mad. The comment section was flooded with numerous experienced keyboard warriors spamming all kinds of ugly photos, throwback pictures, and memes.

However, the legal army left a deep impression during their first battle and their combat power was not to be underestimated. They were just momentarily caught off guard by the fanatics’ reaction, so they were slow to retaliate.

Law students were never afraid of lunatics. They have seen all kinds of litigants and criminals. These chaotic situations not only failed to provoke them but also made them more rational. They calmly and quickly analyzed the debate materials, counter attacking with sound arguments.

When calm debate encounters a barrage of insults, the difference in quality becomes apparent. Even if Xia Ze’s fans posted ten comments, the legal army only posted two. This gave the impression to bystanders that the legal army had more integrity.

A large number of Xia Ze’s fans entered the scene, not only to strike at the enemy out of habit but also to reclaim the second male lead in “Plot Twist.” After all, the drama has not been officially announced yet, so there is still a chance to escalate the situation. The victory or defeat of the fans can also show the production crew whose influence is greater.

The head of the company’s PR department communicated with Chu Xiang. Xia Ze is a senior who has been in the industry for eight years, while Fang Zhenxuan, who has a similar image to Xia Ze, has just debuted. If they confront each other directly, it would give the impression of disrespecting seniority. Moreover, Fang Zhenxuan has fewer works, and there is a suspicion of riding on the coattails of a top idol. It would be better to first appease the fans and avoid a confrontation.

Furthermore, Xia Ze has an especially large number of fans, who were notorious for being unreasonable. If a bunch of false negative information about Fang Zhenxuan were to circulate online, it would also affect his image. Many bystanders might believe it.

Chu Xiang understood the company’s standpoint, which was not to challenge the formidable opponent prematurely. However, she remembered that during Fang Zhenxuan’s audition, he seemed to care about Xia Ze a bit. So, she didn’t agree with the company but went to ask Fang Zhenxuan’s opinion.

Fang Zhenxuan was busy filming and was unaware of the online situation. When he heard that his fans were clashing with Xia Ze’s fans, he quickly asked his assistant for his mobile phone to check Weibo.

The clash could only be described as chaotic and venomous. Fang Zhenxuan frowned and looked extremely displeased as he read through the comments.

Instead of immediately deciding whether to back down or not, he asked a question first, “Is this sudden turn of events possibly Xia Ze’s doing?”

Chu Xiang nodded, “It’s highly likely. Xia Ze’s team attaches great importance to ‘Plot Twist.’ There are only two or three impressive dramas each year, and Xia Ze is eager to transition and looking forward to having representative work. Considering his age, his value has been decreasing invisibly every passing year. He must seize every second to fight for resources. He doesn’t have any good work this year, so if he can grab ‘Plot Twist’ he can secure traffic during the winter break. Otherwise, he would have wasted another year. Just think about when he lowered his asking price during the audition and even hired a teacher for studying. It’s clear that he was determined to play the second male lead. When he clashed with Zhou Yuan and you, he also intended to portray you as disrespectful to a senior. But rest assured, Manager Liang personally guaranteed it. You absolutely won’t lose the role in the drama.”

Fang Zhenxuan lowered his head, his fingers caressing the phone. “Then… I don’t want to back down.” He lifted his head and looked straight into Chu Xiang’s eyes. His face was devoid of any smile, appearing rather serious. “Xia Ze can’t act at all. Even if he hired a teacher, I don’t believe he can perform that well. Wasn’t there a video recording of the audition? I hope we can release the audition footage and compare me with him.”
