Chapter 828

Golden Agent of the Adonis (148)

Fang Zhenxuan got what he wished for and wanted the whole world to know about their relationship. On the way home after watching the movie, Xinxin stared at their tightly held hands for a while and mischievously asked, “Sister, are you going to be my aunt from now on?”

Fang Zhenxuan pinched her little face and asked with a smile, “Do you like it if Sister becomes your aunt?”

“I like it, I like it!” Xinxin happily exclaimed, “Uncle, Aunt, from now on, we’ll be a family of three! The teacher said that the New Year is about family reunion, and it’s true! I’m so happy!”

After some chatting and laughter, Xinxin started feeling sleepy and soon fell asleep leaning on the safety seat.

Fang Zhenxuan shook the hand held by Chu Xiang and whispered, “When will I get a proper title as Xinxin’s uncle? I mean, I didn’t debut as an idol, and our CP pairing is so popular. It shouldn’t be a problem to go public, right?”

Chu Xiang analyzed the situation as a professional manager and said, “Fans’ reactions are always unpredictable. Rumors flying around might not matter much, but openly declaring a relationship is entirely different. It could dampen the enthusiasm of many people to promote and support you. Your fanbase has always been somewhat mythical, but that’s also because you’ve only been in the industry for just over half a year, and they’re proud of the fact that there’s no scandal surrounding you. We can’t predict how things will change in the future.”

Seeing the disappointment on her boyfriend’s face, she chuckled and said, “But it’s okay. You debuted as a performer with real talent, and your box office and viewership records speak for themselves. Our images are both good, so even if we go public, it won’t affect your acting opportunities. At most, there might be some differences in endorsement deals.”

Chu Xiang’s mind flashed several big-name brands that she had invested in, but she didn’t like to talk about things that weren’t finalized, so she didn’t mention them.

Fang Zhenxuan looked at her and asked, “Should we go public… or not?”

Before Chu Xiang could answer, he continued, “I’ve always listened to you and cherished our fans, so when something good happens, I want to share it with them. There might be unsupportive fans, but there will also be many, many supportive fans. I don’t want to hide it from them.”

After observing him for a while, Chu Xiang said, “As your girlfriend, I have no objections. But as your manager, I must remind you that our relationship is unique, and our CP fandom is very powerful. If we don’t go public, regardless of whether we stay together in the future, no one will blame us. However, if we go public and then break up, it will definitely sadden the CP fans, and they might turn against us. Our respective fan bases will clash, and our working relationship will be constantly scrutinized. Any small incident will be amplified by gossip accounts…”

“You’re already thinking about breaking up right after getting together?” Fang Zhenxuan tightened his grip on Chu Xiang’s hand.

Chu Xiang blinked. “I’m not thinking about it, I’m just telling you about the possible consequences of going public. Sometimes, celebrities choose not to go public not to hide from fans, but to avoid being subject to constant rumors and scrutiny. Also, in case of a breakup, it would affect both parties. You’re not familiar with the entertainment industry, so let me explain it to you.”

“We’re not going to break up, so don’t even think about it.” Fang Zhenxuan leaned in, face-to-face with Chu Xiang, and said somewhat dominantly, “Let’s go public. Cut off your retreat and let everyone keep an eye on you for me.”

“If you’re not afraid, what do I have to fear? You can go public with our relationship anytime.” Chu Xiang cupped his face and kissed him deeply, expressing her stance through her actions.

The slightly insecure boyfriend from a moment ago was now beaming with joy, his heart overflowing with sweetness.

Of course, the youthful boyfriend still had a romantic side and didn’t want to simply go public casually. With Valentine’s Day just a few days away, he hoped to share his sweetness with the world on that special day.

They went home and had the candlelit dinner they missed the day before, while online discussions about Case Investigation Adventure flooded the internet. It had been years since a combination of solving crimes and comedy had collided so well. It has also been years since a comedy film has captivated the public in such a manner.

It not only left such a lasting impression but also made people want to discuss the plot with their companions after watching. Especially with Chu Xiang’s appearance at the end, it could serve as a conclusion or the beginning of the next installment. The audience was left wanting more, eager to know what would happen next. They couldn’t wait to see Case Investigation Adventure 2, 3, 4, 5, and more!

Although it was Fang Zhenxuan’s first time as the lead actor in a film, he had gained enough popularity in the past half year. His popularity and acting skills were both outstanding, attracting a large number of viewers right from the start. After the initial audience watched it, the positive word-of-mouth spread rapidly.

Case Investigation Adventure earned 150 million yuan on its first day, attracting widespread attention. Even those who initially planned to watch films featuring other A-list stars chose to watch this highly acclaimed comedy afterward. During the Lunar New Year, many families enjoyed watching a film that could genuinely make them laugh.

The theatrical screening volume of the film was sufficient, and its box office performance skyrocketed, far exceeding the industry’s expectations for the film. This made it the biggest dark horse of the Lunar New Year season.
