Poison Lingers in the Eastern Sea – Part 12

Hikaru woke sometime after noon. His stomach growled loudly.

They had returned to Ville Zentra’s naval port in the early hours of the morning, and after getting back to the inn, Hikaru and the girls had barely managed to wash off the salt and sweat before falling asleep. A military carriage had brought them back. The innkeeper had asked the soldiers, “Who is this boy?” to which Hikaru thought, Why not just ask me directly? but it made sense to trust the local navy over a foreign adventurer. Besides, he was too exhausted to argue, and the way the soldiers stumbled over their words was amusing in its own way.

His stomach was empty, but his body still felt sticky from the sea breeze, so he took a proper bath first and changed clothes. Feeling refreshed, he, Lavia, and Paula headed out to a restaurant and had a hearty meal together.
