Hikaru instantly noticed they were being followed.

Whoever it was kept their distance and stayed out of sight, but they were clearly moving in the same direction as Hikaru’s group. His Life Detection made it obvious.

“We’re being tailed,” Selyse said.

“You can tell too?”

“Of course I can. They’re not bad, but they’re barely above amateur level.”

That was impressive. Without his detection abilities, Hikaru wouldn’t have noticed a thing.

“Since you’re Rank B, does that mean Rank A adventurers are even better?”

“To reach Rank A, you have to take on much higher-impact jobs. Naturally, that also means far greater risk. A four-person party like ours doesn’t get many chances at those.”
