Chapter 41: Lin Jianxia Is a Girl Who Can Be a Mother

Sunday morning.

Lin Jianxia stood before Jiang Yubai's door and knocked gently.

KNOCK, KNOCK, KNOCK.

After a few crisp knocks, there was no movement inside.

This was to be expected. It wasn't even seven o'clock yet. Jiang Yubai had explicitly stated yesterday that he wouldn't get out of bed on weekends until he woke up naturally, so there was no way he would answer the door at this hour.

Lin Jianxia patiently knocked a few more times. After confirming there was no response, she fished the key out of her pocket.

CLICK. The lock yielded.

She cautiously leaned halfway in. The living room curtains were drawn, leaving the space dim and silent. A certain someone was probably still snoring away in the bedroom.

Silently murmuring, "Excuse the intrusion," Lin Jianxia stepped inside.

Her gaze lingered on the tightly shut bedroom door for a moment before she lightened her footsteps and headed straight for the kitchen.
