Chapter 42: Lin Jianxia's Request

Jiang Yubai whipped the pillow off his face and looked up.

Lin Jianxia stood by the bed, a plate of sandwiches in her left hand and a glass of warm milk in her right, glaring at him murderously.

"Wait..." Jiang Yubai subconsciously pulled his blanket up a bit higher. "Why did you come in?"

"Why did I come in?" Hearing this, Lin Jianxia's beautiful eyes widened in disbelief. "Didn't you tell me to bring your breakfast in!?"

Jiang Yubai was momentarily speechless. He couldn't exactly confess that he was just joking and had only said it because he was dead certain she wouldn't actually come in. If he said that, the glass of milk would probably be splashed across his face in the next second.

For the sake of his own safety and that of his bedsheets, Jiang Yubai swallowed his words and offered a cautious response instead. "Uh... thanks?"
