Chapter 57: Reward for Memorizing English

"I'm just saying... you could at least watch where you're going..."

On the way home, Lin Jianxia finally couldn't help but speak up.

Beside her, Jiang Yubai held his English textbook up, not even lifting his head as he replied, "Sis, I have to memorize fifty words a day. How else am I supposed to get it done?"

To be honest, he hadn't originally held much expectation for this so-called reward. Even regarding memorizing vocabulary, he had treated it with a perfunctory attitude of "I'll just give it a try and memorize as many as I can," merely as a way to appease Lin Jianxia.

But this girl absolutely refused to tell him what the reward actually was. She just kept it a secret, confidently claiming that "revealing it early ruins the anticipation." Especially when she added one final line: She promised it would satisfy him.
