the mornings grow colder now,
threatening to leave the first frosty kisses
on flowers still holding on to summer,
and I feel myself shiver and tremble
as if I, too, am slowly withering away,
deprived of my beloved summer days,
I am begging for just a little more time
– I don't want want to have to miss
your sunshine when the nights become
too dark and too long again, I don't want
to have to weather this darkness by myself
– if I could, I would softly wrap you in
beautiful green vines to keep you close,
to keep you warm when the leaves start falling
and the autumn mist comes crawling in
