tell me, if I ever offered you the truth
would you take it? Would you open
your hands and heart and let in
the realisation that things were never
as simple as you'd hoped, and I never
the girl you thought to know, barely
a girl at all; mostly made of guilt and a bad
mimicry of standards I do not believe in?
this body was not made to be soft, it was
forged by will and anxiety into the thing
you see now, lovable perhaps, but could you
handle the truth that is simply that
the inside does not match what you think
the outside means, and could you ever
understand what I mean when I ask you to
please never call me a good girl
