changes still make me freeze, cold

hands, heartbeat racing, throat tight

– even if they were wanted,

and it's not exactly doubt creeping

into my mind, but the voices of

outside disapproval, for making my

body a home for myself – as if they

should have any say at all about

how that might look, inside or out
