Chapter 4 - Opportunity

The alarm on Clement’s phone finally ringing. He wakes up looking so tired because his mind is all over everywhere, overthinking a small matter. He wakes up from his bed, walk over to the kitchen and start preparing his own breakfast.

“Damn I need an assistant…” Mumble Clement while he eats his breakfast.

Right after he said that, Dorian come inside his apartment. He saw Clement.

“Glad you have finish preparing yourself.” Said Dorian.

“Uh thanks. However, it’s a long night for me last night. I cannot really sleep well…” Said Clement.

“Hm, what happens?” Ask Dorian.

After Dorian asking that, Clement’s start to overthink again. If he told the accident that happens last night, Dorian will be mad right? Especially he brings a girl here to his apartment just to suck his blood. Like seriously, isn’t it better to just lie and say nothing happened. Then his brain now getting more overthink, but what if the girl suddenly comes by, asking for money after he suck her blood?.

“Looks like you drink a blood of a girl last night…” Said Dorian.

Clement surprised. He cannot hide it.

“How do you know?..” Ask Clement.

“Vampire has a super power. They can even read minds.” Said Dorian.

“Uh… you are so calm.. not panic.. why?” Said Clement.

“It’s because, something like that is normal.. Us vampire lives around between all humans. Sometimes we crave blood, other times we can control it. However, what you did last night, was because you haven’t learn to control yourself. That’s normal, as long as your victim still alive.” Said Dorian.

“However… I got a problem here…” Said Clement.

“Don’t worry. I will handle that. I’ll make her your assistant. You said you need one right?” Said Dorian.

“Uh… but..” Said Clement.

“Quick, finish your breakfast, your schedule is packed. You cannot be late for your first time.” Said Dorian.

“Alright.. Thanks…” Said Clement.

Clement finish his food and now he is already inside the car. The trip to go to the place for magazine photoshoot is 2 hours. So, they came early. Because They also need to do the make up, hairstyling, and also the clothing.

“The trip will take 2 hours. You can rest first. Or you can watch the views from the windows.” Said Dorian.

Clement open his phone and open his camera to take a selfie of himself then suddenly he realize his eyes is blue again.

“Anyway.. I wanna ask something..” Said Clement.

“What is it?” Ask Dorian.

“My eyes… last night I saw it changes color 3 times… From blue to yellow and then red then back to blue again.. How is that happening?..” Ask Clement.

“Haha. That’s normal. Blue means you are in normal mode. Yellow means you need to be careful, because your body already crave a blood. Red means alert, your body needs blood. If you didn’t get a blood in that moments, your body might be uncontrolled. The vampire inside you might take control of your body.” Said Dorian.

“However… I feel like, eventhough my eyes has turned red.. I can still take control over my body.. I mean.. I didn’t kill the girl and I can still talk with her..” Said Clement.

“That’s nice. It means, you have full control over the body and the vampire inside of you.” Said Dorian.

“Also.. I can teleport…” Said Clement.

Dorian looking at him.

“Great. It’s just day 1 and you already acknowledge your superpower also can control yourself.” Said Dorian.

“Is it?.. Thanks..” Said Clement.

“Right after we finish all your schedule today, we will stop to buy the blood stock.” Said Dorian.

“Alright..” Said Clement.

2 hours later, they finally arrives in the photo shoot location for the magazine. Dorian come over to the photographer, talk a little and introduce Clement as Valerius Etoile. They are all shakes hand with each other. Afterwards, the photoshoot start. The staff bringing him clothing to changes, and start putting his make up and hairstyle, afterwards, a rehearsal of how to pose by the photographer. In 12pm the photoshoot starts. Clement nailed it all. It only took 30 minutes and all of them get a satisfying photo results.

“Thankyou for the great job today Valerius.” Said the photographer.

“No problem.” Said Valerius, he bow his head a little and then follow Dorian back to his car.

Inside the car.

“Great. You should maintain your exclusiveness. You can be friendly, and kind, but not too humble. You also need to gain respect from people around you. Don’t let them look down on you. This is just a beginning of your career. Now we will have a photoshoot for..” Said Dorian, checking his schedule on his phone.

“A photo shoot for luxury brand at 3pm.” Said Clement.

“Haha! Great, you already memorize your own schedule. Let’s go. We don’t want to be late.” Said Dorian.

“Yes. I think I start to like my life little by little.” Said Clement.

“Haha! You should enjoy it while you can. Still young. Make sure you won’t make any scandals or else… You will easily fall so high..” Said Dorian.

“I got it. I won’t.” Said Clement.

“Moreover.. I will contact the person you meet last night and start hiring her with a great deals of income. How do you think?” Ask Dorian.

“Sounds good.” Said Clement.

“Nice.” Said Dorian.

Meanwhile in other side.

Freia is working on her late night shift in the 24 hours fast food restaurant. Suddenly her boss call her over to talk.

“What is it?” Ask Freia, coming inside the room and sit on the chair.

“Someone offering you a job with high payments as an assistant. Good thing is, you can start to work over there tomorrow and, you don’t have to worry because someone already take over your shift tomorrow.” Said the boss.

“What?! Wait..! Why so sudden? I haven’t agree yet and you already accepting it for me??” Ask Freia.

“Here is the address of your new boss.” Said the boss, giving Freia a name card.

“Wait… This is the same building asmy apartment…?” Ask Freia.

“You must be there at 7am tomorrow. Don’t be late. And you are free from your shift now.” Said the boss.

Freia annoyed. She quickly go to changing room and change her clothing then go home. Becoming an assistant… That’s kinda.. uh.. I hope the boss is nice and good and a woman of course.
