Chapter 34: Alien Mission, Xia Ningzhi's Troubles

Honglian Hua hovered beneath the night sky upon the Wind and Fire Wheel. She lowered her head slightly, quietly observing the Gothic Dress Girl down in the alleyway.

The evening breeze swept by. Her lowered eyes flickered with a touch of scarlet, like a dying candle flame wavering in the dark.

After a long time, her lips parted. "Li... why is it you?"

Embers stood motionless in the alley. She quietly watched the lingering wisp of smoke shape into a smiling face. A moment later, she lowered her head to glance at the bouquet of lilies dropped on the ground.

The evening breeze scattered the petals, sweeping them out of the alley and into the night sky.

Following the drifting petals, Embers slightly turned her head. At that moment, a police car sped down the street outside. Its alternating red and blue lights faintly illuminated the alley, stretching her shadow. The piercing sirens echoed down the entire street, shattering the silence of the alleyway.
