The people below, both citizens and visitors, cheered. Raising their own drinks high, fireworks began to fly through the sky. The booming of the beautiful colors further increases the people's joy and enjoyment of the festival.

Rimuru smiled, looking at the people below. His glass, filled with wine gulped down as the cheers continued.

As the ceremony and pleasantries finished, Rimuru Tempest returned back inside the castle. While the common people continued enjoying the festival, as the ruler of the monster country, he has his obligations that kept him busy.

Such as.

"Lord Rimuru, the food in your nation is as delicious as always."

"Would you be interested in trading some of your cloth supplies with us?"

"About this rumored Magitrain Lord Rimuru, may we have a private discussion about it."

Such exchanges were thrown out as he entered the castle's halls. While citizens and visitors strolled the streets and enjoyed themselves with the food vendors and the coliseum's activities.

The aristocrats and royals visiting from other countries were holding a grand banquet. There, they exchange discussions and information with one another. Waiting for Rimuru's arrival to create connections and trade deals while flattering him.

He kept his formal, polite smile as he maneuvered to each of their concerns and praise. Having experienced this more than a few times, as well as the tutoring and advice from Rigurd and Mjourmille, he had grown accustomed to how such talks go.

"We will discuss further trade dealings with your nation King Malukshure. As always, we have great interest in your ports and aquatic delicacies."

"Duke Volund, the gifts you have brought from Ingrassia are wonderful. As for the Magitrain, we are still under trial for it. I will look into it for you."

"Queen Towa, it has been a while. I heard that you have birthed a child, Ren was it? I'll have Benimaru send some gifts for you and Hiiro."

Each one receiving a cordial reply, the more acquainted ones getting a warmer reception. He continued the talks, he could imagine a metaphorical line around himself after each talk he has.

The eyes of the envoys and other nobles focusing on him, waiting for the moment to jump in and have a conversation with the ruler of monsters.

Rimuru sighed internally, so far, more than 20 others were eyeing him. Which implied 20 or so more talks to be had; it was an unfortunate obligation of someone of his status.

"You sure are getting all the attention." A cold yet friendly tone called to him from behind. The familiar female voice urged him to look as the black-haired woman wearing a gorgeous red dress caught his eyes.

"Hinata!" A more genuine expression slipped out before fake coughing, reverting back to a more professional one. "Are you enjoying the banquet? The sushi should be over there at-"

"I'm not here for that."

Rimuru raised a brow, looking at Hinata.

"...I've already eaten some. But that's not why I called to you." Feeling a small blush of embarrassment, she brushed it off as she regained focus on her purpose.

Rimuru nodded, his teasing was more effective than he expected.

"..Later, Luminous-sama wants to have a 'private' drinking celebration with you."

"Drinking..." His mind wandered to the last time the vampire princess invited the slime demon lord to a drink. He was wasted and basically kidnapped. Dragged to the lusty vampire's bedroom.

"Yeah." Seeing his reaction to her words, Hinata confirmed what he was thinking to be the likely reason. "Nonetheless, you have to go later. Make time for around 8 p.m. at the private manor she is currently staying in."

"She has a private manor in Tempest?"

Hinata looked at Rimuru as if she couldn't believe what he was saying. "She had bought one right after the first formal festival. You seriously don't know someone 'like her' was buying a house in your territory?"

"Ah that's..." He vaguely recalled skimming through some reports sent to him. Making more effort in finishing signing each document quickly, rather than understanding them for a certain time during the first month or so.

Hinata sighed; she couldn't believe this to be the man that beat her. "8:00 p.m., here is the address, preferably come alone."

Saying her piece, she walked away. Before Rimuru could call to her, he was already being swarmed by someone else for a talk. He could vaguely see that the direction she was going was to Hakuro with the giant fish being slice to thin pieces.

He held back a smile as he returned to his talk with the King of Filtwood.

Hours passed, he was quite gloomy seeing as his entire day was wasted talking and discussing trades and politics with nobles from various nations wanting to make use of the festival to talk with him.

He wished he could have wandered aimlessly in the streets, buy some food from the vendors, watched a battle in the coliseum or even a play in the opera house. Maybe even visit the elf bar in the dungeon to relax.

Alas, a certain pink haired oni was keeping watch at his side. Not to mention, Mjourmille and Rigurd were the actual ones doing the true political and economic talks, he was merely there to act his role as the one at the top and humor the nobles.

As the sun went down and the streets lamps illuminated the streets, he stretched his body, loosening his suit's tie. "You can go now Shuna, enjoy the festival."

Gesturing to the priestess, Rimuru walked through the residential area of the capital city.

"I've never really wandered to this area before," Murmuring to himself, it was less crowdy than the other streets. Only the occasional nobles or merchants walking cheerfully as they entered or leave the houses.

Finally, he stopped at one manor. The silver-colored house with crimson and blue details. Gunther, Luminous personal butler and the leader of the vampires bowed to him.

"Please enter," The gates opening, Rimuru walked through.

Being guided, he looked around the beautiful manor. A sense of pride for the high orcs architectural talents and the hobgoblins artistic abilities flourished in the building.

Opening one of the doors, Rimuru entered with no hesitation before the old vampire closed the door, leaving Rimuru inside.

What caught the sight of the slime was the disheveled appearance of Hinata, her red dress slipping from her body as she leisurely sipped her wine glass.

"Newbie!" Luminous, wearing her usual gothic dress, wiped the excess wine slipping from her lips. Walking with flush cheeks, she gave a sultry smile to Rimuru.

Rimuru remained still, stunned by the sight. Hinata acting so unguarded, Luminous drunkenly walking towards him, it was all just so sudden.

The feeling of a hand squeezing his cheeks, Luminous poured her wine glass inside Rimuru's slightly opened mouth. Half of the liquor barely entered the slime's mouth, causing him to gulp unconsciously.

Around the end of the party, he secretly turned off his poison nullification to enjoy the drinks provided by his people. Having forgotten to turn it back on, he is experiencing the consequences of such an instance.

Luminous playfully bit his neck, her fangs barely poking at his fair skin. Pulling him deeper into the room, she grabbed at the wine bottle that still had half its contents. Taking a large swig of it, she grabbed the newbie demon lord's face and poured the content inside his mouth.

Rimuru who was slowly going to a daze suddenly opened his eyes wide. The kiss, the alcohol flowing from one mouth to another, he can feel her tongue pushing at his own as the liquor was pass.
