Trailing a few steps behind Luminous, Rimuru watched as she drifted from stall to stall, her eyes gleaming with delight as she searched for her usual favorite street foods.

The slime-turned-human sighed inwardly, quietly observing the vampire's gleeful enthusiasm as she bit into a freshly grilled skewer.

Ever since Luminous had begun frequenting Tempest—much like the situation with Milim—the responsibility of escorting (read: babysitting) her had inevitably fallen into Rimuru's hands.

Her visits had become so regular that the chefs and servers had a reservation ready before Rimuru even mentioned her name.

The establishment was owned by Peko, a hobgoblin who had risen impressively in Tempest's culinary world. He was ranked the third-best chef in the nation—Shuna holding the first spot, with Gobichi firmly in second.

Rimuru had given him the opportunity to pursue his dream of cooking after realizing, during the Orc Lord incident, that many disasters could be avoided with something as simple as feeding people properly.

"Welcome, Luminous-sama, Rimuru-sama."

Several sharply dressed servers greeted them at the entrance as though their arrival had been perfectly predicted.

"We've prepared your favorite seats, and the first course will be arriving shortly."

As they were led into the luxurious restaurant, Rimuru couldn't help but feel slightly out of place—despite being the King of Tempest. The ambiance screamed of elegance, as if only refined conversation and formal etiquette were allowed within its walls.

Once seated, and as the dishes began to arrive, Luminous picked up the conversation where they'd left off.

"I know we already discussed sending the band to Lubelius," she said, casually twirling her wine glass, "but have you given any thought to letting some of my servants learn music here?"

Rimuru paused with a fork halfway to his mouth. "I don't really mind. Do you want me to give you a copy of the sheet music, or have the band teach your vampires how to use the instruments?"

"Both." Luminous beamed, taking a sip of her red wine. "With the band visiting my place, my vampires can learn the less common instruments. They're quick learners. Even just a day or two would be enough to grasp the basics."

"I guess that's true... you did say long-lived vampires get bored to death."

Luminous nodded, snapping her fingers as if to punctuate the point. "Exactly! They'd jump at the chance to learn anything new. Even just handing them the instruments would be enough—they'd analyze the music theory on the spot and probably compose a symphony by dinner."

"That's good." Rimuru continued eating, while Luminous briefly lost herself in the vision of having her own personal band—one she could command to perform at will.

Her gaze drifted back to Rimuru, who was savoring his meal with a soft, satisfied smile and closed eyes. Something about that serene expression made her question if Rimuru was even truly a man.

"Hey, Rimuru," she began, swirling her wine again. "I already know this, but... you are a slime, right?"

Rimuru tilted his head, a confused look crossing his face. Luminous found it adorable.

Seeing their concerned stares, Rimuru wilted further, wishing he could just melt into his seat and vanish.

Luminous sipped her wine to hide her smirk, clearly scheming something.

"What do you think of Hinata?"

"Hinata? What's with these random questions?" Rimuru groaned, ruffling his hair in frustration. "She's scary?"

Luminous blinked, unimpressed. "I meant, do you like her?"

"How did you—? I mean... I guess she is beautiful. I can't really say I like her like that, but she's a good friend." Rimuru muttered, eyes drifting away, a deepening blush painting his cheeks. Whether from the alcohol or the topic, he wasn't sure.

Luminous chose to blame the topic. Her smile deepened, content with the new discovery.

"Let's forget about this topic for now—and keep drinking!"

She gestured to the servers, who promptly brought out more bottles. While Rimuru was only half paying attention, Luminous also retrieved a potent bottle of alcohol from her secret stash—something strong enough to get even a Demon Lord hammered.

Luminous stood there with a mischievous smile curling at her lips.

"Hinata-chan, I want you to come with me," she said, reaching out and taking Hinata's hand without waiting for a reply.

Hinata allowed herself to be led, albeit not enthusiastically. The Luminous before her was just a body double after all—a mere copy, likely sent to retrieve the Holy Knight and bring her to wherever the original was waiting.
