Chapter 142 - Synthesis
Chapter 142 - Synthesis
A/N: Did anyone else get spoiled about Rimuru's true identity for vol. 23? Don't say what it is, be vague if you know. Also, if you guys know any links for vol 23 I'd appreciate it.
P.S. If you read the comments, be sure you know that you are probably gonna get spoiled.
Side note: I'll probably make a poll if we should keep Velgrynd as a lover...

As Feldway and Michael escaped to the Heavenly Star Palace, Heaven, he slammed his fist into the nearest wall. The sturdy structure easily collapsed from the enraged angel. He growled as his plans continued to go awry.
The information he had received from Ouroboros was anything but credible. Contacting the father of the snake cryptid, he sighed.
(What might this be for, First Angel?) A deep, mysterious voice echoed in his head. Feldway scowled at the question, his rage boiling over.
(What do you mean, what is this for?!) he shouted verbally, not even bothering to keep it in his mind. His wrath at the plan not going his way was showing in more ways than one. (You said that you already took care of Rimuru. Why the hell is he still alive and here?!)
(...How curious.) The voice responded with subtle amusement. (I do not recall making such a declaration. In fact, I am fairly certain we have not spoken recently.)
(What?!)
(Are you quite certain it was I you conversed with?) Ouroboros' composed inquiry cut through Feldway's anger, forcing him to recall the earlier exchange.
While Apophis was defending the fleet earlier from Velgrynd's attack, he had received a thought communication from the Serpent of Infinity, Ouroboros.
(I have accomplished my mission of slaying the Arbiter of the Multiverse, the Silver Deity.)
Feldway could still recall his words perfectly clearl. In fact, it was further proven when Apophis suddenly experienced a boost in strength and even gained his portal ability.
(Ah, that. Indeed, I did bestow that child with such power,) Ouroboros now confirmed. (But not as some token of victory. The forces of Citadel are converging upon the Central World, and I was temporarily impeded from communicating directly. I entrusted Zelanus with the task of informing you. It appears, regrettably, that he failed.)
Zess' death flashed in Feldway's mind. He clenched his fist as he slammed it again into another nearby structure, causing more of the beautiful castle to collapse on itself.
'Did I get tricked?' He could feel the veins in his head about to burst. A hand grabbed his shoulder before further damage to the palace could be done.
"Calm down. We need to revise our plan." His friend's words decreased his rage somewhat. Still, he was furious at being manipulated to this extent.
(If I were to conjure a guess...) Ouroboros continued, his voice now edged with restrained contempt, (I would point to the anomalous angel who stands beside the Silver Deity. That one has long been a thorn in both my side and Zelanus'. Unpredictable, aggravating, and particularly troublesome in the heat of battle.)
"Ciel..." The blonde seraph Veldanava took in like any other of the original angels. He knew something was amiss with that one when Veldanava confessed on only planning on creating 7 seraphim but 8 were born.
Adding to that her autonomy, sentience, and desire to serve under the silver demon were all red flags. He kept his mouth shut as it was with Veldanava's approval and his lack of proper sentience by then.
(I have recovered by child for now,) Ourobors announced as Apophis silently recovered his strength beside him. (It is necessary to elevate his strength for the upcoming battle.)
With those words, Ouroboros cut the connection leaving Feldway with his thoughts.
"Where are the others?" Feldway looked through the palace, not finding any of his fellow seraphs. While he could see the fallens turning on him, though he doubted they could succeed, the lack of the other phantom angels' presence was alarming.
Loud footsteps ran through the hallway as a blonde seraph arrived in front of Feldway. "Feldway, bad news. The angels, all of the angels have disappeared!"
Cornu was panicking as he rushed to Feldway. He had been assigned to keep watch in the Otherworld while the others completed their task. Suddenly, as the angels were focused on keeping the mindless cryptids at bay, the direct subordinates of Obera and Zaloria disappeared.
It was something Cornu did not notice at first, as he was busy giving orders to the legions of angels. This wasn't his specialty after all; it was Obera and Zaloria's. His job had been the invasion of other worlds and universes using his phantom subordinates.
But due to the danger of such a task, most of his soldiers had long perished, leaving him with only a minuscule number of about a thousand or so angels to command. His job then changed from invasion to reconnaissance as his subordinates spread out to observe the battles.
He was suddenly called by Feldway and given command of all the angels turned phantoms in the sealed Otherworld, where Ivarage was silently sleeping. The cryptids born from the large amount of magicules in the surroundings were to be culled whenever they became overpopulated.
Normally, the insectars and insects would join in this work, but they were also assigned somewhere else, leaving him here all alone with the subordinates of his fellow seraphs.
Occasionally, he would sense something strange happening in the background, but judged it to be caused by the unnatural aura Ivarage was leaking.
Without him knowing, starting from the cherubim, they were being taken and returned after a few minutes. One after the other, this process continued until the throne rank.
Each angel that returned had a sense of clarity and wisdom in their faces, as if their foggy, unclear minds had finally gained some form of sentience that was never there before.
They conversed and moved the other legions around without Cornu knowing.
Then, when everything was in motion, they killed Cornu's direct subordinates and targeted him.
The cherubim-class angels began attacking him, surprising him with their sudden growth in strength. Looking at Obera and Zaloria's subordinates, they were different from before.
"A body?" Cornu felt his face go pale. The angels who had gained strength from turning into phantoms had gained bodies. What's more, they felt like they were also named. "What the—what happened here?!"
As he was being cornered, the legions of angels began to slowly leave the Otherworld, passing through multiple massive gates in leagues while Cornu was being blocked.
As time passed, eventually it was time for them to escape as well, so the cherub-class angels retreated, but Cornu followed behind.
Then, he felt a large wound etched into his back. Looking behind him, he saw Obera with her greatsword, ready to attack him again. Then Zaloria appeared in front of him, forcing him to run away as they finished leaving the sealed Otherworld.
"Where are they now?" Feldway, his anger rising once again, asked.
Cornu shook his head, slightly trembling from the aura leaking from Feldway. "I-I don't know. All of my subordinates hiding in other places suddenly lost contact with me. It was as if their positions were already known and they were only taken out just now."
Feldway stomped hard on the ground as tremors shook the Heavenly Star Palace. He walked out of the place to a hidden room known only to him.
Michael and Cornu followed behind.
As they halted in front of the sealed artifact, the leaking magicules were enough to suffocate Cornu a little, causing him to step back. The presence inside the seal was too much, even for someone of his caliber.
Feldway placed his hand on the seal, causing it to glow brightly.
"Hahahaha..." Breaking into laughter, Feldway covered his face with his other hand. "Hahahahaha!"
Cornu gulped as he saw the way he acted. Feldway was beginning to lose it, at least from his perspective of the situation. Michael remained silent as he watched Feldway unlock the body hidden inside.
The original body of Feldway, the one known to be a reflection of Veldanava's very own appearance. The similarity was uncanny, with the only difference being the color of their hair.
"Hahaha, so what if they betrayed us?" Feldway, returning to his real body, shouted as he covered his face with both hands, frantically moving around like a deranged person. "We, I, don't need them. They'll regret their actions soon enough. Once Veldanava is back, we'll be the ones laughing!"
...
Rimuru and the others all returned to the Forest of Jura, in the capital. They all sat in the large room that managed to fit all the important people in one place.
"So, you fooled Feldway by sending false information, copying Ouroboros' voice and communication link." Rimuru turned amused at Citadel's Ciel. Her plan was something she had been saving up as a way to deal surprise damage to their side.
"I have been tapping into their communications for hundreds of years," she explained with vigor and confidence. "Fooling them has become a part of my task during battle."
Citadel's Rimuru and Velgrynd both nodded in unison.
"You should have seen how funny it was when the insectars came to ambush our base, which turned out to be a trap for them. They lost half of their insectar generals there, though they weren't that strong to begin with." He laughed, looking at his counterpart.
"We say that, but we also lost a lot of our own subordinates." Citadel's Velgrynd nudged her Rimuru, who only shrugged. "Most of the Arcana members are dead. Those here are what remain of them. As for our main forces, we only have a few tens of thousands remaining in Citadel."
The Citadel group felt slightly down at the decrease in their numbers, as if projecting that they hadn't done a good enough job and caused more of their fellow comrades to die.
"We don't have to worry about numbers," Cardinal's Ciel raised her hand in reassurance. "I stole their entire angel forces, which number in the hundreds of thousands."
Everyone turned to Zaloria and Obera, who were both attending the meeting.
"To be specific, there are 600,000 angels under both of us. Not to mention our cherub and throne subordinates who gained bodies and names."
Jahil puffed his chest proudly, grinning as he stared at the Deathmen bodies being used as vessels for those said angels. "Those bodies are created to be very durable. Make sure to use them as best you can."
Obera nodded while Zaloria remained silent, listening to the conversation.
Dino raised his hand, which garnered the attention of all attending. Both Citadel and Cardinal's groups had their eyes on him.
"It's so weird seeing so many pairs of people here. Can't you just be one?"
The pairs looked at each other, a smirk on their faces, and nodded.
""Sure"" the two Rimurus walked toward each other with grins plastered on their faces.
""I guess it is about time"" Velgrynd then stood up, whispering something to her other self. "Watch out for the steamy memories. The constant battle needed some stress to be relieved."
""..."" Meanwhile, the two Ciels just did their unification.
Every pair in that room synthesized with their counterpart.
Their memories, strength, skills, experience, and everything else merged into one once again. For Rimuru and Velgrynd, it had been thousands of years since they last felt this complete.
Opening their eyes, Rimuru cracked his neck before returning to his seat like normal. Same with Ciel, who was busy calculating the next phase of the plan and their enemies' response.
Velgrynd was different. She had a light blush on her face before shaking it off. It was something she would simply enjoy later.
Everyone in the room held their breath (metaphorically) as the pressure they felt doubled. The synthesis of the ancient godlike beings into their complete forms managed to put them into a strained situation.
Even Ramiris, while not looking uncomfortable like the rest, could feel the change in pressure and her calm expression slightly wavered.
"Kufufufu, this nostalgic presence is truly sublime."
"It has been a long time since Master's presence put me in my place."
"This is getting exciting!"
"Those beasts won't know what hit them."
Unlike the others, the primordials were basking in their lord's escaping aura for the few seconds it leaked out.
Rimuru quickly took everything back in. Same with Velgrynd. Ciel didn't leak, so there were no problems on her side.
"Back to the topic then," Rimuru gathered their attention, his expression serious but not cold. A mix of the battle-hardened Rimuru in Citadel and the playful one in Cardinal. "We can assume that this is the war that will end everything. Luckily for us, we don't have many enemies."
He turned to Ciel, who projected a three-dimensional map via thought communication. "We know where Ouroboros is, as well as where Zelanus is hiding. Feldway and Michael will surely be in the Heavenly Palace. All we need is to decide who will be fighting them and who will remain to control the ongoing chaos while they fight."
Rimuru looked at everyone in the room before nodding his head. "Let's start planning, shall we?"
A/N: NGNL I am not good at multi layered plot. I meant like there are so many characters that we don't even see what is happening to them. As I am writing this, Milim and basically everyone south of the continent are missing in action.
Also, new information. (Note: I got lazy in writing them.)
Name: Rimuru
Ultimate Skill: King of Void: Nameless Mist
-Predation
-Nameless Space
-Spacetime domination
-Nihility Collapse
-Life Domination
Rimuru still doesn't have Azathoth because he hasn't used Veldora and Velgrynd ultimate skill to add in. Nameless Mist is basically using his other ultimate skills with Beelzabuth as a base.
....
Name: Velgrynd
Ultimate skill: Cthuga
-Basically all original skills here
...
Name: Lait
Ultimate skill: king of thought Morpheus
-Thought domination
-parallel processing
-thought acceleration
-Mental Domination
-Reality exchange
-Spacetime domination
...
All primordials got their ultimate skills to their Original LN ultimate skills.
Honestly I also wanted to give Zegion like an ultimate skill relating to chi or chakra but that was long scrapped after he was off screen for a long time.
Sorry I got lazy here, I'll try not to be on the revise. the multiverse plot won't exist so most ideas won't be scrapped due to fixing the plot.
