Chapter 146 - Firstborn

Feldway had expected the arrival of Guy Crimson to El Dorado. In fact, he had bet on him coming here just like he planned.

He looked towards the red primordial, the two in a stalemate of clashes as they flew through the air. The well-known and perfectly crafted city of Demon Lord Leon Cromwell was in ruins from the aftermath of their exchange of blows.

In his hand was the sword given to him by Veldanava, the Star King Dragon, the sword named Ark. A blade similar in quality and origin to Asura, World, and Deva, which were held by Milim Nava, Guy Crimson, and Rudra Nasca respectively.

He'd be lying if he admitted that he was not jealous of finding so many other swords gifted to individuals other than himself.

But that wasn't a matter to be discussed at the moment, especially with Guy taking out an additional blade. Feldway's brows furrowed as he dodged a swing of the new sword in Guy's hand.

"Why do you have Deva?"

Guy smirked as he held his personal sword, World, in his right hand and Deva, his friend and rival's sword, in his left hand. The two blades shone beautifully in his arms. Crossing them in front of him, he launched himself at the angel.

"I'm holding it until he returns."

With swift, full movement, Guy aimed to sever Feldway's body in half.

The first angel quickly blocked the blow with his barrier, Castle Guard, before raising his own blade high to strike at the first demon.

Guy Crimson, the first primordial demon.
Feldway, the first angel of origin.

The oldest creation of Veldanava and the oldest equalizer, both were the firstborn of their own kind.

Feldway was growing irritated. Even with his real body and boost in magicule and energy count, he was still having a hard time finding a way to fully defeat Guy.

It wasn't that Guy was stronger than him. He was confident that, in terms of strength, Feldway was better.

"Why, why, why!"

With a heavy swing, Guy slammed down into the castle, causing it to collapse. Feldway didn't wait before plunging down to kill Guy. With the copied abilities from the True Dragon sisters, he used Cardinal Acceleration on himself to heighten his speed.

The moment he made contact, a wave of destruction spread through the entire city. Not one building, one structure, nor one stone remained standing. Everything was wiped clean for several kilometers.

Within the very center, a massive hole sunk down. Feldway, gripping his blade with two hands, wore a surprised expression as Guy blocked the blow with a familiar barrier.

"Snow Crystal," Guy muttered under his breath as the cube ice crystal collapsed.

Feldway suddenly felt his body slightly stagger, a quick but noticeable weakening effect on his speed and physical properties.

"You're not the only one that can use a True Dragon's ultimate skills."

Pointing his World blade at Feldway, he activated a dark magic spell.

With a devilish curve of his lips, the dark miasma of the underworld was unleashed to the surroundings. With the large magic circle above Feldway, the nuclear magic Gravity Collapse was activated.

"Nova Annihilation."

Feldway felt his instincts and senses blaring alarms of danger. As he was about to escape, he felt his body become sluggish again as Guy smirked, the spell falling down on him as he activated Castle Guard.

At his confidence in Castle Guard, Feldway prepared to attack Guy after the spell ended. But to his surprise, the spell crashed through and dispelled Castle Guard quite easily.

The firstborn angel took damage as his smooth, unblemished skin burned and seared.

"Ahh!"

He screamed in surprise, his appearance, that was a reflection of his creator, was now showing a side disrespectful for having Veldanava's face. A heavily injured body, albeit healing, was making Feldway boil inside.

Guy didn't wait for him to get ready and stabbed his chest with his sword. Using Rudra's sword, he severed his head.

"You are acting very pathetic right now, Feldway."

Withdrawing his blade, Feldway slumped down on the ground.

"I should help with Vel... Ghakk-!!?"

A sword, a familiar sword, was coming out of his chest. A hand held the back of his neck as he was slammed to the ground, digging deeper into the multiple layers of the planet.

"Did you really think that I would lose so easily?" a perfectly fine Feldway mocked as they moved through the mantle of the planet, pushing Guy forward as they traveled.

Feldway quickly diverted their path somewhere other than the core. Moving through the thick layers of the planet, Guy covered himself with barriers.

He wasn't really taking any damage other than the grip on his neck, he was simply waiting for them to resurface.

As they tore through the ground and launched into the sky, Guy found a familiar-looking, large mystical tree. He shuddered as he saw Milim with a blank expression aiming her Drago Nova at the Divine Tree.

"Why don't you watch everything end by her hands?" Feldway laughed maniacally. While everyone was plotting earlier, he had already sent a parallel existence that activated Regalia Dominion on Milim, awaiting orders.

Guy, with haste, slashed at Feldway, who let go of him.

"Milim! Stop, you idiot!"

He bolted toward the Destroyer. Another pain was felt in his back as Feldway impaled his sword into Guy, causing him to lag and not make it in time as the two began to fall.

"Drago Nova!"

With a shout, Milim activated her magic. The bright beam launched directly into the center of the trunk.

Guy twisted his body, stabbing at Feldway's stomach as he reached out his hand.

"Damn it!"

Feldway grinned satisfactorily as he held his wound.

To both their surprise, a massive barrier surrounding the Divine Tree managed to deflect the attack. Even Milim, who was controlled perfectly, showed signs of astonishment.

In front of her, a beautiful woman with blonde hair and dragonfly-like wings appeared.

"Milim-chan, that's not right."

Her arms wrapped around Milim, who resisted the embrace.

She flailed her arms and clenched them into fists. Before she could strike at the Spirit Queen, a different hand held her fist. Looking to the side, Obera and Zalario surrounded her with Ramiris.

"Ahh!"

She began to roar as she was slowly being sealed. Her blade now out, she stabbed at Ramiris, who, for some reason, was not taking any hits. It was like the blade was doing its best to avoid hitting her body, like a reverse magnet pushing the sword away.

Dino then appeared to replace Ramiris. He held her face with both arms as she stabbed at his side, a small groan leaving his mouth.

"Fallen Slumber."

Milim twisted her blade as her grip began to weaken. Soon, she let go of her sword, and her eyes felt heavy. Even with the domination, she couldn't resist the mental attack.

"Ahh... ah..."

She fell into Obera's embrace. She carried the dragon princess carefully as Zalario and Dino glared at Feldway, who was staring at them in surprise.

The traitors he never expected to see so quickly were right there, helping the enemy. His plans failing because of them, he gritted his teeth as he fired several Scorch Magic spells at them.

The Scorch Magic was dispelled as a young dragon, maybe even juvenile, flew in front and roared at the barrage. The magic was blocked by the barriers and fields of magic it created.

"Gaia."

Ramiris giggled at the dragon, who was bigger than a person but still not exactly a proper adult dragon. In terms of size, it was just perfectly near the wyverns commonly ridden by the Lizardmen.

"A juvenile dragon blocking Ultimate Skills?" Feldway clicked his tongue as more nuisances piled up.

"You seem to be forgetting about me."

Guy, with both blades, slashed at him.

Suddenly, time stopped, causing an incredibly minor gap in Guy's adjustment for Feldway to dodge in time. He looked at the frozen surroundings. Aside from Ramiris and Milim, who was sleeping in a frozen Obera's arms, only Guy and Feldway were moving perfectly fine.

"This must be Michael using it," he muttered as he glanced at Ramiris, who moved to protect the others from Feldway. "Shall we continue, Guy?"

Guy cracked his neck as he raised both swords. The battle continued.

Similar to their earlier battle, the surroundings stood no chance against the clash between the two ancient beings. Now that time had halted, it was even more dangerous for anyone or anything to get close to them.

Ramiris had even occasionally intervened to redirect the two to different spots away from the other angels and the Divine Tree.

Feldway was thinking of a plan to end this. He knew that most of his strategies were already failing. He had placed a lot of hope in the destruction of the Divine Tree, never expecting Ramiris herself to intervene against Milim.

He had thought the other angels would be out fighting the insectars and other cryptids causing mayhem. Their sudden arrival was another thing he hadn't foreseen. Too many variables were not aligning with his plan.

Feldway stabbed at Guy's arm, who countered with a bash from the hilt of his sword to Feldway's head. As they continued, more injuries piled up on their bodies.

It wouldn't be incorrect to say they looked like two brawlers who had gone way too far. Their bodies were bloodied, and every movement made their limbs cry out in protest.

A small flicker of white appeared at the edge of Feldway's vision. He hid his grin as the gears in his mind began to turn.

Guy pierced Feldway with both swords, driving them directly into his soul. Fractures and cracks formed as Feldway twitched.

He gripped his sword and, as soon as he pushed Guy away with a swing of Ark.

Imbuing his sword with Cardinal Acceleration, Feldway fired a focused laser attack at Guy. The primordial quickly blocked it with both swords, though the force still sent him flying several hundred meters.

Just as he was about to continue the fight, two hands grabbed his head from behind. Blue eyes glowed under white hair, and sharp nails sank into his face, gripping tightly.

"Guy~!!" A similar battered looking Velzard squealed as her hands tightening on his skull, attempting to crush it. "I love you, love you! Love you!"

"Hahaha," Feldway laughed loud, sharp, almost unhinged as he stabbed through Guy and passed through Velzard. "Why don't you two lovebirds fight it out somewhere else? Chrono Saltation."

With a bright glow, Guy Crimson and the White Ice Dragon, Velzard, vanished from the world.

Time returned as he panted.

Before he could celebrate from tricking Guy Crimson, one of the major thorns in his plan, a sword impaled itself in his chest. The blade covered in his blood was familiar, it was something Demon Lord Guy previously owned but was passed to someone else.

Looking back, a pink haired young girl looked at him with a serious gaze. Her arms tightly gripping the hilt of the blade as she sliced his body sideways. He gasped from the pain, healing himself as he pushed Milim back with scorch magic.

"Hahh... Hahh..." His eyes grew hazy as everything was beginning to darken in his vision. The sight of Milim and Ramiris standing there was driving him to continue. The other seraphim were no longer there as if they were not even needed to take care of him.

He attempts to use instant movement but was blocked by the spirit queen.

"Fine then," He screamed, his sword clashing with Milim's as his bloodshot eyes cried blood. "Why do all of you get in my way!"

He roared, his energy bursting out as he stabbed through Milim's chest, removing it he severed her head.

Seeing this, Ramiris who was coming closer felt Feldway's presence behind her as Feldway burned her entire body into nothingness with Scorch magic.

"I won," Feldway muttered under his breath. He descended, the pairs of wings on his back moving weakly. Some were broken and bent the wrong way; others were fully dismembered, staining his feathers red.

"Hehehe... hahaha!" Landing on the ground, he laughed loudly as he stood, barely. Too much damage had been taken during the fight, and his mental strength was spiraling into darkness.

"I won!" he shouted, arms spread wide. One hand covered half his face as his laughter continued.

A roar echoed behind him as a breath attack hit his back. The force wasn't enough to kill him, but it knocked him to the ground. The sudden fall snapped him back to reality as the juvenile dragon, Velgaia, dropped in front of him.

Feldway looked at the dragon with disdain. Then his expression changed, softened, into something nostalgic. Maybe even reverent, as he gazed upward at the dragon.

"Have you finally come... Veldanava-sama..."

His voice cracked.

His eyes were hazy. The dragon's form vaguely resembled his creator's in his mind. His eyes narrowed as tears began to fall.

"Have you finally come to return to us...?"

He bit his lip. He wanted to kneel. To bow. To throw himself at the dragon's feet and beg for forgiveness. But his legs wouldn't move. He could barely stay upright, one shoulder pressed against the ground, the other hand shaking as it held his weight.

"I have waited for your arrival," he whispered. Blood dripped from his face into the ground. "No one believed me. No one believed you would come back. That we only needed to punish the mortals who led you astray..."

He placed his hand on his chest.

"I never stopped finding ways to bring you back. They rebuked me. But I knew. I believed, and I did everything I could."

The dragon tilted its head in confusion. Velgaia could understand his words, but the meaning behind them was lost on the young dragon.

"Please judge me as you see fit..."

Feldway looked down at the ground. His tears mixed with crimson blood as they dropped into the grass.

"Please strike me, reprimand me. Anything, please..."

He could feel his arms weakening. It was taking everything he had just to remain alive. His soul had taken too much damage.

"Please come back to us..."

"Feldway."

He lifted his head slowly. That voice. That tone. His heart froze.

He looked up and saw a face he knew. A voice he had longed to hear. Familiar. Gentle.

His eyes widened. Tears flowed faster, hotter, like they had been waiting all this time.

"Ah..."

Feldway laughed. Not manically, no. It was laughter of happiness and pure joy. Like a child who had finally returned home after being lost for far too long.

"Veldanava-sama..."

Feldway lay on the ground, his expression one of pure contentment and bliss.
He closed his eyes, a faint smile still resting on his lips.

A/N: If in the original Michael had the content death, in my story it is Feldway. I mean realistically, Feldway is just Ciel if Rimuru dies permanently. If you look at it from his perspective, he just wanted to revive Veldanava even if he gets punish for it.

Fun fact: I just reread this chapter and I find out its Zalario and not Zaloria. Where the hell did I pull that name from lol.
