Volume 2, Chapter 49 – Victory Golden Sword
On another side of the small fortress, a vast army of over ten thousand undead was slowly advancing toward it.
And leading that army was none other than the Legendary Abomination, sent by the Grand Duke Sargus himself to stabilize the Graveyard’s rear lines.
Due to its enormous size, every step the Abomination took caused the ground to cave in beneath its feet. As it moved forward, the earth was forcibly dragged apart, leaving behind a shallow, straight trench in its wake.
While the Abomination continued marching, a Death Knight on horseback galloped from the rear of the army.
“My Lord… judging from the most recent areas where undead have fallen today, we’ve roughly determined the movement range of that outsider.”
“The one who holds the Divine Artifact?” the Abomination asked in its deep, muffled voice.
“Yes, my Lord. That outsider. Her movement range appears to be near the small fortress ahead.”
At those words, the Abomination’s terrifying face twisted into a grotesque smile that could make one’s blood run cold.
“Excellent. If I can seize the Divine Artifact from that outsider and present it to the Grand Duke, he will surely assign me back to the frontlines!”
The real reason the Abomination personally acted to capture the growth-type Divine Artifact was simple because by offering it to the Grand Duke, it hoped to earn its way back to the frontlines.
To the Abomination, the Divine Artifact itself wasn’t the most important thing. What truly mattered was being allowed to fight at the front once again.
“Pass down the order. Have the outsider squad leaders who came along this time take their undead forces and search for that outsider. Since they’re all outsiders themselves, they should know better than we do how to find one of their own.”

Indeed, in its understanding, the best way to find Orgum’s outsider who possessed the Divine Artifact… was to use the other outsiders under its command to locate her.
After all, players knew players best.
“Yes, my Lord…”
The Death Knight, having received its orders, immediately rode away on a skeletal horse.
A few minutes later, the outsider squads accompanying the Graveyard army began rallying their undead minions and dispersing in all directions, seemingly searching for something.
……
Meanwhile, on the opposite side, a stunning girl with her hair tied in a ponytail had nearly circled around the fortress.
But just as she thought she could slip past it, a small figure radiating overwhelming pressure suddenly appeared in the air above the fortress.
In that instant, not only the girl but even the Abomination, still some distance away and on its way toward the fortress, instinctively turned its gaze upward.
Above the fortress floated a little girl with magnificent, eye-catching silver-white hair. In her hand, she held a golden sword, and her crimson eyes gazed down coldly at the fortress below.
The moment the girl saw her, her expression, normally calm to the point of indifference, transformed into one of sheer joy.
No one could have known how intense the emotion welling up inside her truly was.

Because the instant she saw the little girl’s face in the sky, her memories of her came flooding back all at once.
Back when she had still been in the beginner village… the very first time she met that little girl, crying miserably with tears streaming down her face.
That little girl had the same beautiful silver-white hair as now.
Whether back then or now, in her eyes, the girl hadn’t changed at all, still so small, as if she could be easily gathered up and held tightly in her arms.
She didn’t know why, but at that moment, in her eyes, the entire world seemed to fade away, leaving only the figure of that little girl standing in the sky.
“Xiaoyin…”
Unconsciously, a name slipped from the girl’s lips.
“Xiaoyin, I finally… finally found you…”
High above, Tianyin’s crimson eyes coldly surveyed the chaos below as the undead soldiers within the fortress descended into total disorder.
Yes, chaos.
Normally, undead felt no fear toward the living. After all, what could frighten beings who no longer feared death itself? Could Tianyin, who merely brought death, truly scare them?
Of course not.

The reason they were in disarray was because Tianyin was in the air, far beyond their reach. The undead’s limited means of attack couldn’t even graze the hem of her clothes.
From below, countless undead clawed their way to the fortress’s highest points, hurling whatever weapons they could at her.
But even the archers missed their mark; the weaker skeletons that didn’t even know how to shoot bows could only mindlessly repeat the motion of throwing whatever equipment they had toward her.
“Isn’t it funny, Xiaoyin?”
At that, the one controlling Tianyin’s body, Samael, murmured softly using Tianyin’s own voice.
Then, slowly, she raised the golden knight’s sword in her hand.
“I recall this sword comes with a range attack skill called 【Victory Golden Sword】, doesn’t it?”
Murmuring to herself, she lifted the golden sword high.
“Victory—!”
The moment Tianyin uttered those two words, countless crimson motes of light began to gather around the blade.
Gradually, the sword started to emit a faint blood-red glow.
“Golden—”

As her voice fell, the motes vanished, replaced by a blinding crimson radiance that enveloped the entire blade.
“Sword.”
She spoke the final word quietly.
Then, Tianyin swung the sword down toward the fortress.
The instant the blade descended, the sky itself dimmed in the other girl’s eyes.
The world lost all color, and a colossal streak of blood-red light appeared as if from nothing, plunging straight down from the heavens toward the fortress.
Rumble—!
The deafening roar was like the earth collapsing. In the girl’s eyes, the massive streak of crimson light tore through the fortress, shattering it completely.
The once-impenetrable fortress was sliced apart like a thin sheet of paper, cut cleanly in two by that blood-red light.
And the Graveyard’s undead, caught within that same radiance, were all reduced to glowing particles, dissolving into the air.
