Volume 2, Chapter 68 – The Way to Solve the Problem
“?”
Tianyin didn’t know why, but when she saw Xiaomengyao smiling brightly as she said, “Master is the best!”, she suddenly had this strange feeling that she’d just been tricked.
“No no, that’s impossible. I must be imagining things!”
Even though she sensed that something was slightly off, Tianyin still chose to ignore that tiny feeling of unease. Deep down, she convinced herself that it was nothing more than her imagination.
「Pfft…」
But suddenly, a girl’s soft chuckle echoed in her mind.
『Samael, what are you laughing at?』
「It’s nothing, nothing. I just remembered something amusing… well, for now, Xiaoyin, you should get back to work. After all, there are some problems only you can solve.」
『Wuu…』
Although Tianyin could vaguely tell that Samael was definitely laughing at her, she didn’t have time to question her.
Because while she was spacing out and talking to Samael, Sharl and Orgum had already walked over.
“My lord.”

“My lord.”
When they arrived before Tianyin, both Sharl and Orgum respectfully bowed. Only after bowing did they raise their heads, their eyes filled with humble reverence as they looked at her.
“You’re here. Well, no need to be so stiff… actually, I called you because there’s something I want to discuss.”
Tianyin got straight to the point.
Truthfully, she neither liked nor was used to acting as anyone’s ruler. However, since she had become their lord, the corresponding responsibilities were something she had to shoulder.
She might be a little dumb, a little foolish, and very afraid of trouble, but when it came to handling things, Tianyin always had a sense of responsibility and closure. And that was one of her guiding principles in life.
As she spoke, Xingyu Muxi and Xiaomengyao, who had been allowed to stay earlier, naturally hadn’t left either.
“…My lord?”
Seeing that Xingyu Muxi and Xiaomengyao made no effort to avoid the meeting, Sharl couldn’t help but glance at Tianyin in confusion.
“Well, I don’t think it’s a big deal. Besides, Sister Xiaomu and Xiaomengyao aren’t outsiders, so there’s no need to worry~”
“Since my lord says so, as your subordinates, we naturally have no objections.”
With Tianyin’s words, Sharl had no choice but to drop what he was about to say and swallow it back down.

“Since everyone’s here, I’ll go ahead and explain the problem that’s been troubling me.”
Seeing that everyone was focused and serious, Tianyin decided it was time to bring up the topic.
Though, seeing the normally cheerful Xiaomengyao put on such a serious expression made Tianyin quietly chuckle to herself.
After clearing her throat, she began.
“I think everyone knows that we can now safely leave the Graveyard’s territory, right? The issue is, after we leave safely… where can we find a suitable place to settle down?”
It sounded like such a simple question. After all, all they needed to do was find a place to live. The Main World was vast, and both the Stronghold and the Kingdom hadn’t been completely crushed by the Graveyard. So, finding a place to stay should, by all logic, be very easy.
But if it really were that simple, Tianyin wouldn’t have brought it up in the first place.
“Master, I do not recommend returning to the Kingdom.”
As soon as Tianyin finished speaking, the first to respond was Sharl, who currently represented the Kingdom Faction NPCs.
And his first words were completely unexpected. By logic, as someone from the Kingdom Faction, the obvious solution would be to find somewhere safe within the Kingdom’s own territory. Yet Sharl’s suggestion went completely against common sense.
“I see. Understood.”

In truth, Tianyin had already anticipated that Sharl would say something like that.
After all, she understood the situation in the Kingdom about as well as he did. The ruling class there would never tolerate an unidentified Throne-class individual leading a group of soldiers to settle within their borders.
Moreover, among those soldiers were Beastmen, and they were survivors who had escaped from the Northern Fortress, the first fortress the undead had captured.
“Indeed, returning to the Kingdom is out of the question. Which means our current options are actually just two.”
At that point, Xingyu Muxi spoke up, giving her own view.
“Eh? Two?”
Tianyin hadn’t expected there to be two options. When she and Samael had thought about it earlier, they had only come up with one possibility, going to the Stronghold’s territory.
But to her surprise, according to Xingyu Muxi, there was another option?
Xingyu Muxi then said confidently.
“Yes, two options, if going to the Kingdom’s territory won’t do us any good, then we can go directly to the Stronghold.”
But, Orgum spoke up at that moment.
“Uh, actually, my lord, to be honest, the Beastmen in my Stronghold are extremely xenophobic, unless Master could save them the way you saved us, my advice would be against going there. Otherwise, going to the Stronghold might make things even worse.”

Orgum’s words immediately crushed what had been Tianyin’s most likely plan.
Of course, she had kind of expected that, but if Orgum hadn’t said it outright, she probably would have gone ahead with leading everyone into the Stronghold’s territory to find a base.
“Wuu… I see, it looks like neither going to the Kingdom nor the Stronghold is going to work…”
Without a doubt, what had seemed like a simple question had now stumped everyone present. Even Tianyin furrowed her brows, trying hard to think of some mutually beneficial alternative.
“Eh, Master, didn’t Sister Xiaomu say there was another way?”
Xiaomengyao’s voice suddenly piped up.
Hearing that, Tianyin remembered that Sister Xiaomu had indeed mentioned earlier that there were two solutions besides going to the Kingdom. But she’d completely forgotten after Orgum’s interruption…
“Oh, right! Aside from the Stronghold, Sister Xiaomu, you said you had another plan. What is it?”
In response to Tianyin’s question, Xingyu Muxi simply nodded with a soft smile.
“Of course I do, Xiaoyin.”
