Volume 2, Chapter 79 – Dawn
Volume 2, Chapter 79 – Dawn
“So, what exactly is the opportunity here? Why do I feel like creating the 【Ninth Faction】 brings nothing but danger, without a single benefit?”
A benefit.
Tianyin really couldn’t understand.
No matter how she looked at it, she couldn’t see any “opportunity” at all, only the looming threat of being marked as a “necessary target for elimination” by every other faction.
“Well now, Xiaoyin, that’s not the right way to look at it~”
Seeing Tianyin’s confused state, Xingyu Muxi was patient as ever.
“As for the Ninth Faction, the first thing you need to understand, Xiaoyin, is what a faction actually represents in this world.”
“Faction? Wuu, a faction is… one of those strongest forces that stand at the peak of this world, right?”
Tianyin answered hesitantly, speaking from the little understanding she had.
“Mm, that’s about right. But since you understand what a faction truly is, then you can imagine what things will look like once our faction becomes a true Ninth Faction, can’t you?”
A true Ninth Faction.
Just the thought of it let Tianyin feel the ambition hidden within Xingyu Muxi’s words.
Yes, ambition.
That desire to turn this so-called Ninth Faction into a real one, a force capable of standing on equal footing with any of the Eight Great Factions.
For some reason, Tianyin suddenly felt that maybe… she shouldn’t have brought up the matter of the Ninth Faction to Sister Xiaomu at all.
‘Wuu, maybe I’m just overthinking it…’
Though uneasy inside, Tianyin still believed that, deep down, Sister Xiaomu’s intentions were only to help her.

“Xiaoyin, I think this is our chance, the chance to create a powerful force that can truly stand alongside the other eight.”
At that moment, Tianyin saw for the first time a strange, dazzling light shining in Sister Xiaomu’s eyes.
“Like this? Building a power that could stand equally with the Eight Great Factions?”
Instinctively, Tianyin didn’t think things could possibly be that simple.
The biggest issue right now was that they barely had any fighting power at all.
They couldn’t even form a proper army. Every faction, whenever it waged war, dispatched legions of hundreds of thousands of troops at minimum.
Just that scale alone was something Tianyin couldn’t even dream of matching. And as for elite powerhouses, she didn’t have a single one worth mentioning.
So, even if Xingyu Muxi’s vision of the future sounded grand, Tianyin knew the road to get there would be anything but smooth.
Besides, Tianyin had never wanted to become someone who could rival the Eight Great Factions in the first place.
All she really wanted was a peaceful place to live, and to be surrounded by the people she cared about.
NPCs, players… if they could all just live together like this forever, wouldn’t that be enough?
At this point, Tianyin had even started to let go of the thought of returning to her original world.
But Xingyu Muxi clearly didn’t see it that way.
“Xiaoyin, I think our future should move in this direction. Before now, I hadn’t thought much about what path we should take, but now, I’ve found a goal.”
In the beautiful girl’s eyes, which shone brighter than the stars above, there flickered a mesmerizing brilliance.
“Just like the 【Eden】 you named, Xiaoyin, why can’t we build a real Eden of our own in this world?”

“A real… Eden?”
Listening to Xingyu Muxi, who seemed a little different from usual, Tianyin couldn’t help but fall into a daze.
To build a place that belonged to her, to them… to build our own paradise?
Such a dreamlike place?
She had to admit, it stirred something in her heart.
“But Sister Xiaomu, do you really think we can succeed? That kind of future sounds impossible…”
Tianyin’s doubts came from her realistic perspective.
After all, no matter how hard you tried to dream, a dream was still just a dream.
If she truly had the power to establish such a faction, she wouldn’t need Sister Xiaomu to convince her, she’d have thought of it herself.
But as things stood, it was simply an unreachable dream.
“We’ll succeed. I’m sure of it.”
Xingyu Muxi smiled confidently in response to Tianyin’s doubt and worry.
“Did you forget, Xiaoyin? I was a young lady with immense influence in another world. So for me, difficulties, dreams, all of it can be overcome.”
“But this isn’t that world, Sister Xiaomu. This is a completely different one…”
“I know. But still.”
Xingyu Muxi knelt down, her eyes filled with tenderness, and reached out to gently stroke Tianyin’s long silver hair.

“For your sake, Xiaoyin, I’m willing to do anything~”
Willing to do anything.
“You know, in my heart, this numb, colorless life… Even if you’re only an NPC, to me, you are the one and only ray of light that pierced through the thick clouds.”
Tianyin couldn’t understand why Xingyu Muxi would say something like that, but she was deeply, deeply moved.
“Wuu, Sister Xiaomu always says things that make it hard to know how to reply…”
Not knowing what to say, Tianyin could only answer shyly, her heart warm and fluttering.
“That’s fine, Xiaoyin. You don’t need to respond or think about what to say. Just accept what I give you.”
“Wuu…”
“Alright~”
Xingyu Muxi stopped stroking Tianyin’s hair and instead lightly pinched her cheeks.
“Xiaoyin, how about I choose the faction’s name?”
“If Sister Xiaomu’s choosing, then of course it’s fine.”
Tianyin nodded and answered softly.
“Since Xiaoyin agrees, there’s a name I have in mind. I wonder what you’ll think of it~?”
“What name?”
Tianyin asked curiously, her big eyes fixed on Xingyu Muxi.

Xingyu Muxi paused her movements and stood up.
“Let’s call it Dawn. The ‘Chen’ of morning, and the ‘Xi’ of light.”
“Wuu-eh, Dawn?”
Tianyin repeated the name thoughtfully.
“Dawn, the first light at the break of day. It symbolizes gentle radiance.”
Seeing Tianyin’s thoughtful expression, Xingyu Muxi smiled softly.
“Gentle radiance? Then it’s decided! From now on, our faction’s name will be… Dawn!”
And thus, the Ninth Faction that would one day rise swiftly in the future was born.
【Dawn】
Translator Note
‘Dawn’ in chinese is 晨曦 / Chénxī.
Since I have translated all other eight factions’ names to English, I think it’s better to use the English name ‘Dawn’ for this ninth faction instead of ‘Chenxi’.
