Volume 2, Chapter 101 – Response
What an overwhelming power that was. If one tried to describe it with words alone, it would be impossible to truly convey the sheer might it displayed.
In the Sanctuary Plane where angels dwelled everywhere, countless angels devoutly kneeling upon the ground and chanted “Our Lord is eternal.”
In the Plane of Nature, the elves all closed their eyes in prayer, blessing their leader, the Elven Queen.
Meanwhile, within the Academy, as its Plane Power was awakened, the arcanists all respectfully gazed upon the manifestation of the awakened Plane Power and cried out in unison, “The God of Magic is with us!”
Plane Power.
The last time it had been awakened was hundreds of thousands of years ago, during the Inferno’s invasion of the Main World. To prevent the Inferno from destroying it, the united coalition of factions had once called forth Plane Power. People of that era had witnessed firsthand how mighty it truly was.
If the Thrones were described as unmatched existences, then the Plane Power gave off a feeling of boundless grandeur, immeasurable, invincible, and incomparably magnificent.
After hundreds of thousands of years, once again, in this moment, people saw with their own eyes the legendary Plane Power.
As time passed, the Plane Power was completely awakened by the Thrones. Under the guidance of the seven factional Thrones, the Plane Power began converging toward the skies of the Main World.
At Hyjal Holy Mountain, beneath the World Tree Yggdrasil, nearly all the coalition forces fighting against the undead simultaneously ceased their attacks. And the undead of the Graveyard they were facing also seemed to halt at that same instant, as if they had been petrified in place.
“This is… this is…”
An aged elf stared at the overwhelming pressure emanating from the heavens, tears streaming down his face.
“We’re saved!”

Meanwhile, countless players across the battlefields all found their minds going blank in that instant.
Up in the sky, that invisible yet suffocatingly oppressive force grew even stronger. It was so powerful that no being present could summon the will to resist or kill.
Moreover, that power was not simply overwhelming, but it carried hostility.
A vast, malicious intent poured down from the heavens, enveloping Hyjal Holy Mountain… no, to be precise, it spread over all undead of the Graveyard across the Main World.
Under the shroud of this malice born from Plane Power, the most ordinary undead were completely immobilized.
“What… is this?”
With hollow eye sockets raised toward the heavens, the Lich King Kersu, amid the battlefield, could also feel the hatred that the force above directed at him. That hostility was unimaginably strong, so much so that even opening his mouth to speak felt excruciatingly difficult.
“That… is Plane Power…”
A Legendary-tier undead answered Kersu’s question.
“Plane Power… Plane Power? So the coalition’s Thrones have made their move?”
Kersu’s tone grew solemn.
Although he could sense the overwhelming power in the sky, and though the undead were greatly astonished by it, their understanding of Plane Power was, in truth, quite limited.
“There’s no need to fear. This is merely the coalition’s last desperate struggle!”

One of the Legendary-tier undead scoffed at the intensifying Plane Power above. That sentiment was shared by most of the Graveyard’s Legendary-tier beings.
“Just Plane Power. How many times can they even invoke it? Remember, our undead number is endless. Even if they use Plane Power to annihilate tens of thousands of us, it won’t even scratch the surface.”
A fair evaluation, perhaps. The Legendary undead of the Graveyard were already giving Plane Power as much credit as they could. But what they did not know was that, no matter how highly they estimated it, they were still underestimating it.
Far away from the battlefield, in the newly established city of Eden, Tianyin suddenly lifted her head while chatting with her disciple, sensing something.
“Master?”
“Don’t speak, Xiaomengyao.”
For once, Tianyin’s face carried an unusually serious expression.
At that very moment, in a valley not far from the fallen Northern Fortress, at the center of the massive black floating castle, within a vast and desolate hall…
The Grand Duke of the Undead, Sargus, who had kept his eyes closed all this time, slowly opened them.
A faint azure glow flashed within his pupils.
“They’ve come.”
Sargus’s voice was calm, his tone steady.

“Sargus?”
Lilith, who had been beside him all along, looked at him in confusion. But Sargus merely reached for the black helmet resting beside his throne and slowly placed it upon his head.
“Lilith, I’ll leave the Graveyard to you for now.”
“Grand Duke, are you planning to go out?”
Lilith didn’t respond to his statement, instead asking softly.
“Yes, I’m going.”
Because of the helmet, Sargus’s voice now carried a low, resonant tone. As he answered, his hand grasped the hilt of the sword embedded beside the throne.
“I’m going out… to bring them back.”
“Bring them back?”
Lilith smiled, though her crimson eyes flickered faintly.
“Then, Sargus… Grand Duke… will you come back?”
“I will. Of course I will.”
Sargus’s voice was filled with unwavering certainty. Then slowly, he drew the sword from the ground.

“For millions of years, they’ve never seen me take action.”
“This time, I’ll make them understand that the Graveyard is not as fragile as they think.”
He carefully examined the sword in his hand, then turned his gaze toward Lilith.
“Lilith, before I go, there’s something I want to ask you.”
“If it’s something I know, I will answer it, Grand Duke.”
“Then…”
Sargus’s tone softened.
“Before I became the Grand Duke of the Undead, when I was still just an ordinary human… had we met before?”
At that moment, an old dream surfaced in Sargus’s mind, a dream from long ago. In that dream, he and Lilith had been ordinary humans.
But to his question, Lilith only smiled and shook her head.
“No, Grand Duke. I’ve always, always been your subordinate, Lilith, the True Ancestor of all vampires in existence~”
