Volume 2, Chapter 106 – Situation Reversal
The enormous holy sword seemed less intent on cutting Sargus himself than on severing the space he occupied.
As it swung down, the space along its path cracked and collapsed, piece by piece.
This strike, without a doubt, would be devastating for Sargus, who had already been repeatedly struck by other Plane Powers.
It seemed almost impossible for him to withstand it…
In the war against Inferno, the Abyssal Lord had been similarly struck by those Plane Powers across endless space and suffered grievous injuries.
Those wounds still had not healed.
Now, the Undead Grand Duke Sargus was not only being attacked by these Plane Powers but, even worse, was facing their blows head-on.
After a continuous barrage, he had been forced all the way into the very presence of those Plane Powers.
Although the Abyssal Lord was somewhat surprised that Sargus could face the Plane Powers directly, he still thought Sargus foolish for what looked like a suicidal act.
Under the swing of that holy sword, even a Throne-class, on a blade formed by Plane Power, could not resist.
So it seemed the outcome had been decided the moment the twelve-winged archangel in the sky brought the holy sword down.
In midair, the holy sword finally slammed into Sargus with brutal force. In that instant, cracks appeared across Sargus’s body, across the armor he wore and his limbs.
Even a Throne-class being like him, under the assault of Plane Power, seemed as fragile as paper.
After the slash, dazzling light exploded across the sky.
Because Sargus stood inside that light, no one could see him clearly for a time. It was impossible to tell exactly what condition he was in.

“Is he… dead?”
Someone asked instinctively. But no one answered.
“No way, Grand Duke is a Throne-class! He can’t just die like that!”
The Graveyard legendaries who had begun to withdraw from the battlefield refused to believe Sargus had perished.
They desperately hoped he would return to continue leading their Graveyard…
“Is he dead?”
In the void, the Elven Queen looked toward the Heavenly Father and asked without thinking.
Heavenly Father’s face was expressionless.
Then he slowly closed his eyes.
“He should be dead—”
Before he finished, Heavenly Father’s eyes suddenly snapped open.
“Not good, he’s not dead!”
“What?!”
All the Throne-class present were momentarily stunned.
On the Main World, when the light faded, the people saw that the Undead Grand Duke Sargus, who had just faced the five Plane Powers attacking in succession, was still floating in the air and had not died.

Not only that, he gripped a long black sword formed of jet-black light tightly in his hand.
“You all thought I was dead?”
“But—”
“I, Sargus, will not die so easily!”
Saying that, Sargus shot toward the Plane Power of the Nature faction, the direction of the Elven Goddess, with astonishing speed.
In the blink of an eye, he was before the Elven Goddess.
“This guy… could he be trying to—?”
In the void, the Elven Queen’s face showed disbelief, but she quickly controlled the Plane Power and began to attack Sargus.
Although the Elven Queen reacted promptly, Sargus had already swung his black long sword at her.
With a single strike, a huge black sword-light nearly half the width of the sky flew straight toward the Elven Goddess, and in almost no time pierced through the form of the Elven Goddess made of Plane Power.
“Aaaahhhhhhh—”
At the moment she was struck, the Elven Goddess let out an involuntary wail. She looked to be in extraordinary pain from Sargus’s attack.
In the void, when the Elven Goddess was cut by Sargus, the Elven Queen also screamed.
Not only that, the Elven Queen’s previously youthful face began to sprout wrinkles. Within seconds, the once-ludicrously perfect girllike beauty had aged into something like a seventy-year-old, withered and old.

In the Nature Plane, countless forests withered one by one, losing life. One after another, the elves’ homelands turned to wasteland.
“Ahhhhhhh—! Undead Grand Duke Sargus… You shall die a horrible death!”
The aged Elven Queen spat a curse that sounded poisonous, then vanished before other Plane Powers’ Throne-class in the void could react.
As the Elven Queen disappeared, in the main world the Elven Goddess that Sargus had struck, the one still wailing, also gradually faded and then vanished from everyone’s sight.
“…This is… not only did we fail to kill him, he in turn has gravely wounded the Nature Plane?”
Seeing where the Elven Queen had disappeared, the Abyssal Lord’s tone became heavy for the first time.
“If the Nature Plane is to recover to its former state, it will take more than a million years… and this Undead Grand Duke Sargus… forces me to overturn my previous impression of him again…”
“He… is very strong…”
For the first time, the Abyssal Lord publicly admitted a Throne-class’ strength.
Even Heavenly Father and the Abyssal Lord had never said in front of others that Heavenly Father was strong.
“So unexpected… he directly gravely wounded Nature…”
Heavenly Father’s expression grew grave for the first time.
“Everyone, be careful from now on…”
“Understood…”
“Yes…”

The Fortress Emperor and Antonio of the Academy answered with solemn faces.
After all, they had all underestimated the Undead Grand Duke Sargus.
After all, the Abyssal Lord himself had been grievously wounded by a wave of Plane Power that crossed space, so they had instinctively believed that Sargus, who faced Plane Powers directly, could not possibly match them, the five Plane Powers, head-on.
But the facts were…
On the sky, of the five Plane Powers, only four remained now.
High above, Sargus, who had just destroyed the Elven Goddess of the Nature Plane, held his long sword at a slight angle.
Beneath his pale hair, the deep sockets of his eyes held a pair of crimson eyes that flickered dimly.
“The real fight is only just beginning… everyone…”
“You thought mere Plane Powers could kill me?”
“For underestimating me so much… I, Sargus, will shatter you one by one.”
“And that will be the price for making the children of my Graveyard sorrowful…”
Yes.
As Sargus said, the true battle had only just begun.
