Volume 1, Chapter 25 – Hungry Again

After listening to everything, Tianyin now roughly understood how this game world was structured.

Everyone knew that even though this was a virtual game world, it still possessed its own history.

The Sanctuary, Inferno, Academy, Stronghold, Fortress, Kingdom, Graveyard, and Nature.

These Eight Great Factions together formed this vast and endless world.

The Sanctuary was led by the Heavenly Father and commanded countless pure and holy angels. Among them were powerful figures like Michael and Gabriel, the renowned high-ranking angels.

The Inferno, on the other hand, was a faction made up of cunning devils and chaotic demons. Their base of operations was the underground realm of the Main World, the Endless Abyss.

Within the Abyss existed countless unknown and powerful demon gods. There were even angels who had once belonged to the Sanctuary but had fallen, becoming the so-called fallen angels.

The Academy was a faction composed of scholars devoted entirely to the study of magic and arcane arts. Although it had the smallest population among the Eight Great Factions, its combat strength was not to be underestimated.

Moreover, most of the world’s magical items were created by the Academy’s alchemists. Because of that, none of the other factions wished to casually provoke them.

Next were the Stronghold, Fortress, and Kingdom, each one a power belonging to the native races of the Main World. They often clashed with one another.

And the last faction, the Graveyard, was shrouded in mystery.

The Graveyard existed in an alternate space, the Plane of the Undead. Since its creation, it had rarely appeared before the world.

Occasionally, there were small incidents involving the Graveyard, but they were never anything significant.

One could say that the Graveyard faction was both very low-profile and very mysterious.

As for Nature, it was a faction made up of races that loved the natural world, long-lived and innately peaceful beings.

Among them, the most prominent were the Elves.

Outside of the Eight Great Factions, there were also a few smaller factions, such as Tianyin’s own.

—Factionless Neutral.

“Alright, that’s enough for today. It’s already so late, Xiaoyin should be going to sleep now~”

After talking for so long, the in-game time had already reached night.

“Mm…”

Tianyin nodded in understanding, then carefully held onto the table and jumped down with her legs pressed together.

“Pfft…”

Watching Tianyin move so cautiously, Yivrea couldn’t help but cover her mouth and laugh softly.

“Oh my… Xiaoyin really is adorable like this.”

“Eh… I-I-I’m not adorable at all!”

Honestly, being told that made Tianyin’s face flush red.

But if she tried to explain that she was just afraid of jumping down and losing HP or something, that would be even more embarrassing…

“Come on, don’t be shy. I really do like Xiaoyin just like this~”

Yivrea smiled, her beautiful eyes narrowing into crescent shapes.

As expected of an NPC designed by the System, when Yivrea smiled, even in the real world, it would have been a breathtaking sight.

Guu~

At that moment, a very familiar sound came from Tianyin’s flat little stomach.

“Wuu…”

Hearing the sound, Tianyin’s face turned red again.

So she tried to change the topic. “Um, since it’s getting late, I should probably… probably…”

“Ah, did I just hear something strange just now?”

“What strange sound?”

“It was… how should I say it, kind of an unexpectedly cute sound~”

“What’s cute about it! That was my stomach growling! There’s nothing cute about that…!”

“Oh, so that sound meant you were hungry~”

“Wuu… n-no… not at all… I’m not hungry…”

Out of sheer male pride, Tianyin refused to admit the obvious, even though her secret had already been exposed…

“Well, it seems I was the one being inconsiderate. After all, my guest has been here for so long and I haven’t even offered proper hospitality. That’s not how Yivrea should treat a guest~”

Apologetically, Yivrea spoke with genuine warmth. She didn’t try to tease Tianyin further, and that alone made Tianyin’s favorability toward her rise significantly.

“Since you’re hungry, preparing a a nice, hearty dinner for my guest is only natural~”

Saying that, Yivrea stood up.

“Xiaoyin, please wait here for a bit. I’ll go prepare dinner. We can eat right here once it’s ready~”

“Mm…”

At the mention of food, Tianyin’s small face flushed again.

Her body might be tiny, but her appetite was ridiculously huge…

Even though this was a data-based game world, she still couldn’t understand why she had been given such a gluttonous innate talent.

“Well then, if that’s the case, I guess I’ll just have to learn how to cook my own favorite foods one day!”

Lost in thought, a strangely realistic idea popped into Tianyin’s mind.

After all, as the saying goes, “Do it yourself, and you’ll never go hungry.”
