Volume 3, Chapter 47 – Trouble
While Fisiel and Tianyin were still talking, Xingyu Muxi had already rushed over as well.
After arriving at the scene, Xingyu Muxi was slightly surprised to discover that Tianyin and Fisiel seemed to be quite familiar with each other.
“Yay, Sister Xiaomu is here~”
Seeing Xingyu Muxi, Tianyin smiled happily.
Curious about what kind of person could help Tianyin manage Eden, Fisiel also turned her gaze over.
When she saw Xingyu Muxi, Fisiel was a little surprised to realize that the elf girl who appeared before her… was actually an “outsider”?
“Outsider?”
Surprised as she was, Fisiel still could not help but ask out loud.
However, noticing that what she had just said was a bit off, she quickly suppressed the urge to continue speaking after blurting out those three words.
“Well… I am an outsider, it is a bit unexpected right?”
With a smile on her face, Xingyu Muxi walked over and sat down next to Tianyin.
“But back to the point, this Lady Paladin… seems to know our Lord?”
It was clearly just a very ordinary question, yet Fisiel felt that the girl in front of her was giving off a “dangerous” aura from head to toe…
“Mm… I do know her…”
As a Paladin, the word “lie” did not exist in Fisiel’s dictionary, so even though she sensed something was wrong, she still admitted it very directly.
“Oh? You really… know her?”

The smile on the girl’s face in front of her seemed to have become even more dangerous.
“Wuu… it was just that Fisiel took care of me before… so it is nothing, Sister Xiaomu…”
Tianyin suddenly spoke up to explain, which left Fisiel somewhat unable to understand.
Although she did not know how to interpret it, the dangerous aura coming from the girl in front of her gradually faded away.
“Sorry to show you something unsightly… from what Xiaoyin just said, Lady Knight, you are called Fisiel?”
Xingyu Muxi still wore a flawless smile, but in Fisiel’s eyes, this smile looked a bit like the ones she saw when facing nobles.
Even so, although she felt that way inside, Fisiel still would not show it on her face.
“Yes, I am the Kingdom’s Paladin Fisiel. I am currently serving as the commander of the garrison at the Northern Fortress, fully responsible for its defense.”
“Mm? Wait… you are the commander of the Kingdom’s army at the Northern Fortress?”
The first part was still acceptable, but the latter half of Fisiel’s words was far too shocking.
It was not only Xingyu Muxi. Even Tianyin was staring blankly at Fisiel.
“Yes, I am the commander of the army at the Northern Fortress.”
On this point, Fisiel would not deny it.
“…The envoy sent by the Kingdom is actually the commander of the Northern Fortress?… that really is surprising…”
Compared to Tianyin, who was already stunned, Xingyu Muxi appeared much more composed.

“But back to the point, as the commander of a large army, why would you personally come to negotiate with our Eden? By rights, you would only need to send an envoy, would you not?”
“Yes, but I feel that only by coming in person can I show my sincerity.”
When it came to official matters, Fisiel would never be the least bit vague. On the contrary, her attitude became much more serious.
“Sincerity huh? Well, just based on the fact that you once helped Xiaoyin, as long as your conditions are not too excessive, we can help you without asking for anything in return.”
To be honest, only someone with the identity of a “rich person” like Xingyu Muxi would say something like that.
However, Fisiel had no intention of accepting Xingyu Muxi’s offer.
“This time, coming to Eden, even though I was a little surprised by the Lord’s identity, I do not intend to rely on being familiar with the Lord to try to secure success in this negotiation.”
“So before anything else, please listen to all the terms I wish to negotiate, then decide whether you are willing to agree.”
As a Paladin, Fisiel still upheld her own principles.
After all, to rely on personal favors to ask others for help would be far too unbefitting of a Paladin.
“Alright… then I will first hear what you want us to help you with.”
Xingyu Muxi looked at Fisiel with some curiosity.
“Our army at the Northern Fortress… hopes to receive material support from Eden.”
Fisiel was very clear in her heart about the purpose with which she had come here, and stating it this directly was also very much in line with a Paladin’s way of doing things…
“You want Eden’s supplies?”

Hearing Fisiel’s words, Xingyu Muxi narrowed her eyes thoughtfully.
“In that case, you mean that the Kingdom’s army no longer has follow-up supply support?”
“Yes.”
“I see… I understand.”
Xingyu Muxi nodded in realization.
“In that case, I want to ask a question. Since your army is lacking supplies, then why… does your vast Kingdom Faction not send people to support you?”
“This…”
Even though Fisiel would not lie, openly telling an outsider about the Kingdom’s ugly and shadowy side still made her feel somewhat troubled.
“Well… you do not have to say it. I can actually guess it too. The fact that the Kingdom is unwilling to support you really only has two possible reasons. The first… is that the Kingdom’s foundations have been almost exhausted by the war against the Undead, so right now the Kingdom has no strength at all to send you reinforcements…”
“…”
In truth, when it came to the Kingdom’s internal situation, Fisiel understood it far better than Xingyu Muxi, so in the face of Xingyu Muxi’s guess, Fisiel chose silence.
“Looks like the first guess was wrong… then there is only the second guess.”
As she spoke, Xingyu Muxi fixed her gaze tightly on Fisiel.
“That is, the Kingdom does not want the Northern Fortress… to be precise, the Kingdom has already decided to abandon you and your legion…”
To be honest, Fisiel had already vaguely guessed the possibility Xingyu Muxi had just voiced.

However, as a Paladin, she had never been willing to believe that such a thing would happen to her.
“No… it is not like that… I am only carrying out my orders to defend against the Beastmen…”
Fisiel tried to argue.
However, hearing this explanation that even to Fisiel herself sounded somewhat pale and powerless, Xingyu Muxi could not help but smile.
“Looks like… I guessed right. Well, do not be nervous, this kind of thing is actually very easy to see.”
“Mm?”
Hearing this, Tianyin looked utterly confused.
Xingyu Muxi continued speaking.
“If I am not mistaken, you are already a Legendary-tier Paladin right?”
“Yes…”
“It is like this. After all, you are such a young Legendary, and at the same time the commander of an army of two hundred thousand. One could say that if nothing unexpected happened to you, your achievements in the future would certainly be very great. Then in the eyes of some people, someone like you will inevitably become… trouble…:”
“Trouble…?”
The instant she heard this, Fisiel suddenly understood a great deal…
