Volume 3, Chapter 61 – Legendary vs Legendary
Before the undead knights were about to break out of the encirclement, the knight girl stepped in at just the right moment and blocked their path.
“So you finally decided to make a move?”
Faced with the knight girl standing in front of her with a longsword in hand, the Headless Knight instinctively halted her advance.
“Fisiel, my descendant… next, it will be Legendary against Legendary… a battle that belongs to us…”
Yes.
In Fischerna the Headless Knight’s view, at this very moment, the outcome of this so-called battle was something only a fight between Legendaries could decide.
On one hand, the kingdom’s army outnumbered the undead army by several times. Even though they currently held the upper hand, they could not crush the enemy in one fell swoop.
On the other hand… Fischerna’s goal was never to rout the kingdom army in front of her. Fischerna’s true objective was to kill Fisiel and turn her into a Headless Knight just like herself.
Of course, the knight girl had no idea what Fischerna was really after. Right now she was only thinking of one thing, plain and simple, to stop the undead cavalry from breaking through the encirclement.
The knight sword known as the Sword of Promised Victory was slowly drawn from its sheath in the knight girl’s hands.
Holy light slowly wrapped around the knight girl, and in the girl’s hand, that sword of hers began to flicker and bloom with one dazzling light after another.
“As expected, Paladins really are a disgusting bunch…”
Feeling the aura emanating from the sword in Fisiel the knight girl’s hand, Fischerna could not help muttering under her breath.
Of course, even as she said this, the Headless Knight also began to slowly gather her own power.

Since ancient times, whenever a battle between Legendaries breaks out, it becomes a war that will not end until one side falls.
Rarely can a Legendary easily defeat another Legendary, and rarely can a fight between two Legendaries be decided in a short time.
So Fischerna and Fisiel, these two Legendaries, did not strike first the instant they faced each other.
A suffocating aura spread around them, and the weapons in their hands also radiated terrifying light.
Radiance and darkness, warmth and cold, death and life.
The two Legendaries were like two extremes, and in the brief thirty seconds of their standoff, two completely different powers began to invade each other’s space around them.
Then, in the next second, the battlefield that had been noisy and chaotic a moment ago suddenly fell silent.
Clang…!
It was the sound of a hard weapon striking a hard weapon, and in the eyes of the undead and the kingdom soldiers, the two Legendaries, who had still been some distance apart, were now somehow already face to face.
A long spear shrouded in pitch-black currents and a knight sword wrapped in brilliant golden light.
In the span of an instant, the two had already collided.
“Your reactions are quick.”
The Headless Knight held her spear in one hand, blocking the knight girl’s sword while still finding room to voice her evaluation.

“Same to you…”
Fisiel the knight girl’s gaze was sharp. Even though she had blocked the Headless Knight’s attack in that first instant, she did not feel there was anything to be proud of in that.
“Hah…”
Fisiel let out a low shout after speaking, and with that shout, one dazzling, blinding ray of light after another began to bloom around her, then transformed into one sharp longsword after another.
“Oh, so you can control holy light and turn it into swords for attacking, this kind of move?”
Fischerna the Headless Knight grasped the knight girl’s intent in an instant. While letting out a soft sigh, she also guided the flaming warhorse under her to retreat.
“It’s not over yet!”
At the instant the Headless Knight retreated, Fisiel pulled back her knight sword, and her eyes narrowed slightly.
In the next moment, just as Fischerna was planning to temporarily avoid the sharp edge, a wall formed entirely of holy light appeared out of thin air behind her.
“Interesting—”
The instant she realized she had no way to retreat, Fischerna immediately understood that aside from taking this attack head-on, there was no other path left.
So the Headless Knight prepared to swing the spear in her hand, intending to swat down those swords formed from holy light one by one.
However, Fisiel had already anticipated this attempt long ago.

“I won’t give you the chance to block!”
That was the thought in Fisiel’s heart, and of course, that was also exactly what the knight girl did. Just as Fischerna was about to swing her spear to block the swords streaking toward her, Fisiel had already closed the distance.
Then the knight sword in her hand, carrying what seemed like endless holy light, slashed toward the Headless Knight.
In just a single instant, Fisiel swung and slashed at the Headless Knight countless times, and forced by Fisiel’s attacks, the Headless Knight had no choice but to focus on swiftly defending.
After all, compared to those swords still flying through the air, the blows that Fisiel was personally delivering were the ones that demanded more attention.
And then, unsurprisingly, the Headless Knight managed to block Fisiel’s attacks, but those swords formed from holy light were something she did not manage to block.
Boom! Boom! Boom—!
Explosive sounds rang out in succession.
Each sword that struck the Headless Knight detonated upon impact, and for an undead Headless Knight, swords formed from holy light were undoubtedly a hard counter.
For such swords to explode across her body would, without question, deal almost unimaginable heavy damage to her.
But…
“Don’t forget, in the past I was a Paladin too!”
Fischerna the Headless Knight spoke to herself.

Just when Fisiel thought her surprise attack had severely injured the Headless Knight before her, the Headless Knight, still shrouded in radiant, flickering holy light, suddenly moved.
Taking advantage of the holy light that blocked sight and sense, and before Fisiel could react, the Headless Knight hurled the spear in her hand straight ahead, hard and fast.
The long spear shot out at a speed that seemed like it could even tear space apart, trailed by pitch-black light, and in the blink of an eye, it was already in front of Fisiel.
“What…”
The deathly still aura of the undead filled Fisiel’s vision in that instant. The moment she sensed the spear being thrown, she had already reacted, but she still could not make an effective response in time.
Pssh—
Without a doubt, the pitch-black spear pierced straight through the knight girl’s body in that moment.
“Ugh…”
Fisiel could not help letting out a muffled, pained sound.
In front of Fisiel, the holy light that had been enveloping the Headless Knight vanished, and within the fading radiance, the Headless Knight who should have been struck by the holy light swords did not have a single visible wound on her body.
“Very surprised? But to me, you are nothing more than a Legendary who has just taken her first steps onto the stage.”
Even without a head, Fisiel could still feel the smugness that seeped through in the Headless Knight’s words.
