Volume 4, Chapter 19 – Arriving at the Abyss
As it turned out.
After Samael controlled Tianyin’s body and used the overwhelming power of a Throne-tier to force all the leaders of the underground city to submit, those people very straightforwardly gave up the location of the teleportation array.
Not only that.
What surprised Samael a little was that the teleportation array was functioning normally and had not been damaged.
“What’s going on? Wasn’t it broken?”
That was how she asked.
According to Samael’s guess, that earlier report about the teleportation array being damaged should have been a lie Seles herself made up.
However, what surprised Samael was that the person in charge of the teleportation array, a Dark Elf who was shivering under the oppressive Throne-tier aura Samael was releasing, answered in a voice that sounded like he was about to cry.
“No… it really was broken before… but yesterday, Lady Seles sent people to repair it…”
“Hmm… was it just repaired?”
Samael had never imagined that the Dark Elf who had been single-mindedly thinking about defiling Tianyin would also do something like repairing the teleportation array…
Although she was a bit surprised, Samael knew very well that she had no extra time left to waste being surprised.
The duration of the Seven Original Sins was only half an hour, so from here on, she still had to leave this place as quickly as possible…
With that in mind, Samael controlled Tianyin’s body and stepped into the teleportation array.

As soon as it sensed a living being stepping into it, the teleportation array quickly entered an activated state.
“Ah, right… which part of Inferno does this teleportation array connect to?”
It was only at the very end that Samael finally remembered this crucial question.
“Ah… my lord, we don’t know that either, since none of the people who stepped into the teleportation array have ever come back…”
The Dark Elf respectfully gave an answer that did not really count as an answer at all.
However, Samael did not hear such an answer anymore, because by that time, there was no longer Tianyin’s body under her control inside the teleportation array.
……
Inferno.
Among the Eight Great Factions, it was the faction with the highest level of mystery. Even for players who had read the System’s introductions and natives with rich life experience, there actually was not much reliable intel known about a place like Inferno.
What people did know was only surface-level information about Inferno.
Inferno was a faction located beneath the ground of the Main World. Apart from being at war with Fortress all year round, it itself was a land that was utterly, through and through, a realm of evil and chaos.
Cunning devils, chaotic demons.
They were what made up the main body of Inferno.
The territory of Inferno was called the Abyss, and the reason it was called the Abyss was also because Inferno’s leader, the boss in name, called itself the “Abyssal Lord”.

The reason the Abyssal Lord was called a boss in name was that this fellow did not manage anything at all.
No matter what outrageous things the demons and devils under it did, it would only cheerfully stand off to the side as a spectator.
Not only did this fellow like watching its own faction’s subordinates hurt each other, it also liked drawing in and luring some people into falling into the Abyss, then watching those people join the Abyss’s endless struggle.
In the recorded history of the Main World, the Abyssal Lord had even once incited a small portion of demons to invade the Main World… under the lead of avatars sent out by the Abyssal Lord, the other factions of the Main World, in order to preserve themselves, had been forced every single time to unite to deal with Inferno.
Every time Inferno invaded, the Abyssal Lord would manifest a different avatar. The most praiseworthy instance was the most recent invasion of Inferno, where the Abyssal Lord’s incarnation had directly appeared in the form of a beautiful young girl.
Of course… none of that was the main point. The main point was that the whole of Inferno, from the topmost leader down to the most common foot soldier, was actually a group of people whose thinking was twisted, whose minds were unhinged, whose heads were not exactly right… lunatics.
And now… a little loli with long silver-white hair and a delicate, adorable face, at this very moment… had arrived in Inferno.
In other words… the Abyss as it was now.
At the edge of a pitch-black, withered forest, a humanoid demon with a horrific face and barbs growing all over its body discovered a silver-haired little girl lying on the grass, clearly in an unconscious state.
As a demon, instinctively, it felt the powerful aura that was radiating from the little girl’s body.
Not only that… as a demon living in the Abyss, it could not have been more familiar with that powerful strength on the girl before its eyes.
“This is… the aura of Original Sin… Xingemo has not sensed it wrong, this is the aura of Original Sin!”
The demon muttered to itself, yet that horrific expression became reverent.
Slowly.

The demon that called itself Xingemo started to move toward the place where the girl lay unconscious.
“Original Sin! This is Original Sin! Original Sin!”
Muttering the words Original Sin over and over, the demon’s expression was incomparably devout, yet its eyes were full of violent madness.
“If I eat you… if I eat you, I, Xingesa, will be able to have Original Sin too! I, Xingesa, will be able to become a monarch too!”
The demon got closer and closer to the girl, and those twisted, strange hands began reaching toward the unconscious girl.
However… just then.
Pshhk—!
Something was cut apart in an instant.
From the demon’s point of view, the silver-haired girl who should have been unconscious had, at some unknown point, slowly opened her eyes and was already standing right in front of it.
And those eyes… held a color that, in this demon’s view, was incomparably noble,【purple】.
“Even you… want to hurt me too?”
The girl kept her purple eyes open, yet in her pupils surfaced a sadness that made others want to cherish and protect her.
“Y-You… you… are you… ‘the End’?”
The demon stared blankly at the girl’s purple pupils and, for some unknown reason, blurted out such a line.

After that, it rather feebly… stretched its long claws out toward the girl.
Ssshhk
Hot blood splashed out. In the eyes of the demon that called itself Xingesa, its own hands flew up into the air in that instant.
In the next moment, its consciousness, along with the intense pain from its body, sank into silence in an instant.
『Samael… I’m doing very well now.』
After casually killing the demon in front of her that seemed to harbor ill intentions toward her, the girl’s purple pupils did not change at all.
Not only that, she even looked over the demon’s gradually cooling corpse with great indifference.
As she examined the demon’s corpse, the girl suddenly started talking to herself again, yet it was also as if she were speaking to someone who was not there.
『I’m really doing great, Samael… let’s just let this matter end here… from now on, I won’t so easily choose to trust others again.』
A relieved smile appeared on her face as she put away the sword in her hand, then reached out and gently swept the silver hair hanging by her cheek slowly back behind her ear.
Those purple pupils were still exceptionally bright.
『So don’t worry, Samael… this time, I will definitely bring Fallen Angel Lucifer back!』
