Volume 4, Chapter 48 – The Black Dragon King’s Plan

Anqi’s death was actually inevitable as far as Yunchou, who was far away in the Kingdom Faction, was concerned.

After all, once Yunchou had given Anqi the 【True Elite Template】, he no longer bothered thinking about whether Anqi would be able to come back alive.

Because over on Fanster’s side, Yunchou had already sensed what was happening over there.

“Inferno hasn’t invaded yet… but right now is the best time for me to make use of these forces…”

The delicate-looking youth muttered to himself, and his flickering eyes seemed to pierce countless distances and see the Black Dragon King and those Demon Lords in Fanster’s territory.

“Hm? Your subordinate killed some strange outsider? How?”

After the Black Dragon King and the other Demon Lords had finished clearing out unrelated presences in the surrounding territory, they began summoning the demon army from Inferno and the Black Dragon Army.

While the Black Dragon King and the Demon Lords were taking a short break from the summoning, the Demon Lord responsible for keeping watch over this area suddenly reported this bizarre-sounding piece of news to the Black Dragon King.

“It’s very strange… that outsider didn’t revive like the others do. He was killed outright by one of my subordinates…”

“Killed? At that level, even if he’s killed, his body should still dissolve, shouldn’t it?”

“No… that outsider didn’t dissolve… his corpse was left behind…”

“Hm? Interesting… he dies and the body stays? But from the sound of it that outsider is neither Legendary nor Throne-tier, right?”

“That’s right… he’s just an ordinary-level outsider… but his corpse remained… it really is a phenomenon that goes strongly against the laws of this world…”

The Demon Lord speaking had a very interested look on his face.

“Right… Black Dragon King, besides the corpse, that outsider also dropped a letter…”

As if suddenly remembering something, that Demon Lord took a paper letter out from who knew where.

“This is… hm… wait…”

Puzzled, the Black Dragon King in his human form temporarily let go of maintaining the teleportation array and took the letter the Demon Lord handed him.

The moment the letter came into contact with the Black Dragon King, the envelope opened by itself.

“This is… addressed to me?”

Seeing the letter open on its own, the Black Dragon King couldn’t help being stunned for a moment.

Then after he carefully read the contents inside, the expression on his face slowly shifted into one of clear interest.

“Interesting, interesting… looks like there are some sensible outsiders after all.”

After saying this inexplicable line, the Black Dragon King’s gaze sharpened slightly.

“Everyone, as for where the Lord of Pride is, I now more or less know the place…”

His voice sounded very confident, and after finishing those words, the Black Dragon King used the dragons’ unique flames to burn up the letter in his hand.

Still, from what they saw, it wasn’t hard for the Demon Lords present to tell that the intel the Black Dragon King had gotten had come from that letter.

“If you keep going south from here, you’ll reach the place where the newly born Ninth Faction Dawn is located. And the Lord of Pride, Lucifa, is staying there.”

“Interesting… the Ninth Faction Dawn? I’ve stayed in Inferno for so long and this is the first time I’ve heard of a Ninth Faction…”

One Demon Lord, having heard the name Ninth Faction Dawn, felt curious and at the same time eager for the coming action.

“Sounds like just a newly born, weak little faction. I don’t know why it’s being called the Ninth Faction, but since it’s only a new faction, wouldn’t wiping it out be a piece of cake for us?”

Another Demon Lord, hearing the title Ninth Faction, directly voiced the attacking urge they couldn’t hold back.

“Calm down for now.”

The Black Dragon King looked around, taking in the Demon Lords around him who were itching to move, while wearing a rather relaxed smile.

“The Ninth Faction Dawn does need to be taken care of, but we also need to talk properly about how exactly we’re going to deal with it.”

“Talk? Talk about what? Why don’t we just charge in and kill them?”

When it came to war, most Demon Lords were action-first, muscle-headed types. There were some Demon Lords who had plans and clear goals when waging war, but there just weren’t many of them.

And just his luck, among the eighteen Demon Lords the Abyssal Lord had assigned to the Black Dragon King, almost every single one was the type who looked sly most of the time, but turned into total blockheads the moment it was time to fight.

So even though the Demon Lords were suggesting they “just charge in and kill,” the Black Dragon King simply ignored that.

“If Dawn is being called the Ninth Faction, it must have something it’s exceptional at. As of now, we still don’t know Dawn’s current strength, so charging in right now would be nothing but brainless brute behavior.”

“What’s wrong with being a brute? No matter how strong Dawn is, it’s still just a newly formed faction. Isn’t it fine if we just fight our way straight through them? Our strength is right there. I think it’d be easy to sweep them aside all the way.”

You had to admit, once the Demon Lords heard that Dawn was a newborn faction, they immediately started looking down on it in their hearts.

However, after reading the letter Yunchou had sent him, the Black Dragon King did have a certain level of understanding of Dawn’s strength.

Even though the Black Dragon King also had the thought of sweeping straight through, his habit of lying low for millions of years meant he did not advocate such a brainless, headlong charge.

“Right now Dawn doesn’t know we exist… so we can use the advantage of being in the dark and sneak our way over… then when they’re completely off guard, we pop out and attack their capital. Isn’t that better?”

After thinking for a moment, the Black Dragon King directly proposed a method that sounded rather devious.

Given the power of eighteen Demon Lords plus a Throne-tier like the Black Dragon King, if they truly intended not to be discovered by Dawn’s sentries on the way, then even if they walked right in front of those sentries, those sentries might not be able to detect them. That was an exaggeration, but as long as the Black Dragon King and the Abyssal demons wanted to sneak into Dawn’s heartland, it would be a very easy thing to do.

“Black Dragon King, you’ve lived for so many years, how did you end up more and more turtling? You can actually say something as childish as that?”

“Sure, it’s a bit simple, but I don’t want any extra complications before I get my hands on the power of Pride. So if we can keep things simple, then we keep them simple.”

As expected of someone who had been lying low for over a million years, even though the Black Dragon King’s face showed anger at the Demon Lords’ mockery, his tone remained utterly calm.

“What, you don’t want to go along with it? Fine, I’ll just go find the Abyssal Lord…”

Hearing what the Black Dragon King said, the faces of all the Demon Lords present changed drastically.

“Who said we didn’t want to do it?!”

“Yeah yeah, we never refused your plan!”

“That’s right, that’s right, this method looks extremely cautious, and I think it’s better for us to be more cautious!”

In less than a few seconds, the Demon Lords present all agreed to the Black Dragon King’s plan.
