Volume 6, Chapter 11 – Blade Storm
By using Sword Dance, one could create a whirlwind that stirred the air and even carried powerful cutting force.
Not only did it look incredibly flashy on the surface, the damage it could deal was also very impressive.
And this move, back before Danqiu Yibai became a Legendary, had actually been a mandatory skill of the Beastman class known as Blademaster.
In Danqiu Yibai’s hands, it was not just Whirlwind Slash. He also had an advanced version of Whirlwind Slash, a finishing move called Blade Storm.
However, logically speaking, Whirlwind Slash should be a skill that only Beastman Blademasters possessed.
According to Danqiu Yibai’s understanding and his own experience, Whirlwind Slash really was a skill you only had when your class was Blademaster.
But…
“Why… Do you know this move too?”
Stumbling to evade the elf girl’s attack, after feeling the sharp pressure of wind skim past the tip of his nose, Danqiu Yibai’s expression turned extremely ugly.
“Aren’t you a mage? Why do you know Whirlwind Slash?”
“Mage?”
Seeing Danqiu Yibai’s look of disbelief, Seles drew back her sword and looked at him with her beautiful eyes, half smiling.
“When did I ever say I’m a mage? All of that was just you making assumptions~”
“Me making assumptions? No way. You’re obviously a mage… was all that instant-cast magic I saw just now my hallucination?”
“Pfft… hallucinations are possible too, and as you can see, I, Seles, am actually just an ordinary swordswoman~”

“Swordswoman?”
For a moment, Danqiu Yibai almost believed Seles, who sounded like she was just spouting nonsense.
He quickly snapped out of it.
“No… you’re a mage, I’m not mistaken about that. Even though what you just used was indeed Whirlwind Slash… if I decided you were a swordswoman just because of one Whirlwind Slash… Do you think I’m that easy to fool?”
“Oh my? Fooling you and all, that really was what I was thinking~”
Seles’ brows knitted slightly and her lips puckered in a little pout.
“I did at least spend quite a bit of time figuring out your abilities and thought you’d fall for it… As expected, aside from that idiot I can’t get enough of, nobody ever gets fooled by me~”
As for the idiot I can’t get enough of that Seles mentioned, Danqiu Yibai had a vague guess, but his attention was quickly pulled back to Seles in front of him.
Because after muttering to herself and admitting that she really had been trying to deceive Danqiu Yibai, the aura surrounding the elf girl turned unnervingly sharp.
And Danqiu Yibai was the one who had to face Seles’ growing pressure head on.
“We’re both Legendary, so why is the gap so huge?”
Feeling the suffocating aura coming from the elf girl in front of him, Danqiu Yibai was tense and at the same time could not help sighing inwardly.
But just as he was silently lamenting and did not even know what to say, his expression suddenly changed.
“This is…”

The sky before his eyes began to darken.
And not just the sky; in front of the girl, countless blades that looked frighteningly sharp began to slowly appear.
Just seeing that scene was enough to make anyone instinctively feel that something was very wrong.
And for Danqiu Yibai, he had seen this kind of scene before, because…
“Blade Storm… you can even do this?”
Right now Danqiu Yibai had an doubt in his heart and had no idea whether he should say it or not.
Whirlwind Slash was one thing, but what the hell was going on with Blade Storm now?
Wasn’t Blade Storm the trump card of Beastman Blademasters?
Why could a Dark Elf who had nothing to do with Beastmen use Blade Storm too?
This made absolutely no sense.
Even so, what was right in front of him really was that move called Blade Storm.
“Blade Storm, are you kidding me!”
Now that things had reached this point, Danqiu Yibai could no longer deny Seles might not be a swordswoman.
Facing the move called Blade Storm that the elf girl was about to unleash, Danqiu Yibai had only one thought left, which was how he should respond.
Rеαⅾ οn KαtRеаԁіnɡСαfе
“There’s no time to brood over this… I still don’t really get why you can use this move, but now it’s time for you to see what a Blademaster’s Blade Storm really is…”
As the saying goes, you use magic to beat magic.
And in Danqiu Yibai’s view, since Seles was using Blade Storm against him, he would counter with Blade Storm as well.
After all, they were both Legendary. With the same move, there was no telling who would come out on top.
For Danqiu Yibai, the best outcome would be mutual destruction.
Holding that thought in his heart, Danqiu Yibai tilted the longsword in his hand.
His aura began to grow as sharp as Seles’, and right now, with Seles and Danqiu Yibai facing off, they felt like two drawn blades.
Blade Storm.
The sword in his hand rose to stir up a storm.
Time ticked by second after second.
He did not know how much time passed before the two silent, confronting figures finally moved.
Of course, sometimes battles could turn very complicated, but sometimes they were very straightforward.
In a truly evenly matched fight, victory and defeat often depended on a single move.
But when there was a huge disparity in strength, the one at a disadvantage only needed to show the slightest opening and what awaited them would be defeat.

And that was exactly the situation Danqiu Yibai was in now.
“I’m not your match… and your strength is definitely not just at the level of a Legendary, is it?”
After the two clashed with Blade Storm against Blade Storm, Danqiu Yibai, as the one on the weaker side, was easily defeated by Seles.
And the price of that defeat was that Danqiu Yibai’s HP bar was on the verge of being drained dry.
“Legendary? I never said I was a Legendary. All of that was just what you people decided on your own.”
Seles, on the other hand, looked quite interested. Naturally, having defeated a Legendary outsider and all that, her mood improved just a little.
“Ha… so you’re not a Legendary? I see, I see… I should’ve thought of that earlier.”
Muttering words that were hard to follow, Danqiu Yibai’s voice grew weaker and weaker.
“From the start you were pretending to be weak, right? You deliberately chatted with me to stall for time, and that time was actually just so you could copy my abilities, wasn’t it?”
“Oh my?”
Seeing Danqiu Yibai propping himself up on his sword with difficulty while talking, Seles actually felt even more pleased.
“So you figured it out? It actually does not matter if you did, since my goal is to copy skills anyway~”
