Volume 1, Chapter 49 – I’ll Be Your Master~
“Wha…”
In that instant, the moment Tianyin’s gaze met the little girl’s, she couldn’t help but let out a soft sound of surprise.
Her small lips parted slightly, and beneath her silver hair, her jewel-like eyes began to lose focus.
She didn’t know why, but a strange, indescribable yet incredibly real and intense feeling was telling her to empty her mind completely.
Ignoring the Paladin NPCs around her, she could only blankly stare at the petite black-haired girl who stood about the same height as her, looking so delicate and frail.
“Uu…”
At the same time, when her eyes met Tianyin’s, the little girl hiding behind Duansheng Tingyu also felt a strange, unexplainable emotion welling up inside her.
It was an odd feeling, impossible to describe, just a pure, instinctive desire to approach the adorably perfect silver-haired girl before her.
In simpler terms, it was as if two lolis, recognizing each other’s kindred spirits, were drawn to one another…
Of course, that was just a crude way of putting it.
And so, the entire atmosphere inside the Job Change Hall suddenly turned rather bizarre.
Two lolis stared silently at each other, while between them stood a large male player, also quietly watching the silver-haired loli.
“Wait… so what exactly is your purpose?”
Realizing that the silence had gone on long enough, the righteous Paladin Lancelot decided to break the strange tension that hung in the air.
And the effect was immediate.
The moment Lancelot spoke, Tianyin’s unfocused eyes regained their clarity, and the black-haired girl on the other side blushed deeply, hiding shyly behind Duansheng Tingyu.
“Uu… s-sorry…”
The little girl apologized softly, but she was already cowering behind Duansheng Tingyu, not even daring to look at Tianyin.

Tianyin didn’t take offense to the sudden apology. She simply tilted her head in confusion.
Duansheng Tingyu, meanwhile, slowly turned his gaze back toward Lancelot.
“I actually said it already. My purpose… is her. That silver-haired little girl.”
As he spoke, he extended a finger and pointed straight at Tianyin.
At those words, Lancelot and the other Paladins’ expressions all changed drastically.
“So you really are up to no good!”
Shouting angrily, the Paladins each placed their hands on their sword hilts.
“To think you’d target a little girl! You’ll have to get through our swords first! If you won’t talk properly, then we’ll just fight again!”
Upon hearing this, Duansheng Tingyu’s eyes once again began to glow faintly red.
Tension immediately filled the room again.
“Uu… brother… big brother…”
At that moment, the little girl behind Duansheng Tingyu puffed her cheeks slightly, looking somewhat upset as she tugged at his sleeve.
“Brother… didn’t you… promise me… you wouldn’t… make me angry again…?”
Her soft, broken voice was quiet, but everyone present could hear it clearly.
“Xiaoyao… I…”
“Uu… no fighting… okay?”
“I…”

Hearing the faint irritation in the girl’s tone, Duansheng Tingyu finally unclenched his tightly balled fists.
After taking a deep breath, he bowed deeply toward Lancelot.
“I’m sorry… for my earlier rudeness.”
The unexpected apology left everyone surprised.
“I know what happened just now was my fault, and I sincerely apologize for it. As for the damage caused in the hall, I’m willing to compensate for all of it.”
Even Tianyin began to wonder if she had misheard.
From his appearance alone, this player clearly didn’t look like a gentle type, and yet after a few words from the little girl, his attitude changed completely…
Anyone would doubt their own ears.
But seeing him bow earnestly before them, Tianyin had no choice but to admit that he truly was apologizing.
So, without a doubt, this player, apparently the little girl’s brother, Duansheng Tingyu, must be what they call…
“A siscon~”
Watching his bowed figure, Tianyin couldn’t help but mutter softly.
Having received such a sincere apology, the Paladin who upheld the Knight’s Code, Lancelot, allowed his expression to soften.
“Since you’ve apologized with sincerity, I’ll forgive you for this time. As for compensation, it’s not necessary.”
It had to be said, Paladins truly had generous hearts.
“But—”
His tone shifted sharply.
“From today on, I don’t want to see you step foot in this Knight Hall again.”

As expected, while Paladins were magnanimous, their sense of principle remained absolute.
“Understood?”
“I…”
Upon hearing Lancelot’s words, Duansheng Tingyu’s tone carried a trace of frustration.
“I…”
But just as he was about to say something, the little girl tugged at his sleeve once more.
“Brother… let’s go back…”
“But, Xiaoyao…”
“It’s fine… this is enough for now…”
“But I…”
“Brother… let’s go back, or I’ll get mad…”
She puffed up her cheeks in protest, though rather than looking angry, it only made her seem even more adorably pouty.
“…Alright, alright, I understand.”
At last, under the little girl’s persuasion, Duansheng Tingyu gave up, his tone turning slightly helpless.
“But next time, if I get the chance, I’ll definitely find you something good, Xiaoyao.”
“Mm-hmm, Xiaoyao will be waiting~”
The two exchanged words like that, and just as expected, the strange commotion seemed about to end peacefully.

However, just then, whether it was impulse or something else, Tianyin suddenly took a few steps forward toward the little girl.
“Um… Xiaoyao, right?”
And as her feet moved, words escaped her lips almost involuntarily.
“Wuu… actually… actually, I have this job called Blood Knight… Do you… want to change jobs?”
“Eh?”
The little girl called Xiaoyao froze in surprise at Tianyin’s question.
“Well… it’s… it’s a Knight job… a really strong one, yeah… really, really strong… so… um… so that’s it… would you like to try it?”
For some reason, Tianyin felt completely unable to express herself properly.
Her words came out halting and broken.
“So then!”
Finally, Tianyin decided to simplify what she wanted to say.
“Do you want to become a Blood Knight? I’ll be your master~”
Translator Note
Both Tianyin and that new loli Xiaoyao when they are speaking cutely are actually use the same word 唔 (Wú). But to differentiate the conversation between them, I will use “Wuu” for Tianyin as usual, and use “Uu” for Xiaoyao.
