Volume 7, Chapter 31 – Heart Knot
“Seriously… why would you think like that?”
Even though, from a certain perspective, Lucifa’s words could already be considered as saying Tianyin’s true purpose back then.
But… it was true that Tianyin had wanted to obtain the Original Sin power, Pride. However, now, Tianyin was no longer simply holding onto that kind of “utilitarian” purpose.
She reached out and patted Lucifa’s head. Watching the weak-looking girl let out a kitty-like cute whimper with teary eyes, Tianyin suddenly realized that, in the end… Lucifa was really just acting on instinct, seeking something to rely on after losing everything she could rely on.
Because of the Abyssal Lord, Lucifa couldn’t go back to Inferno. And as for Sanctuary World, Lucifa, who had “indirectly” caused her own father and mother to die, definitely wouldn’t want to go back either.
Although there were still some fallen angels accompanying Lucifa now, but… in the end, Lucifa no longer had anyone she could rely on.
Once a person has nothing left, they’ll instinctively seek something to rely on. Of course, there are also those who become strong on their own. But Lucifa obviously wasn’t that kind of person.
No matter how you looked at it, Lucifa was a little girl who was inferior, withdrawn, hurt by others since childhood because of Pride, and completely immature.
Even though something like mental maturity grows with age. But after Lucifa had been personally expelled from Sanctuary World by her father when she was little, that panic and unease of being abandoned by the whole world, that inferiority of believing she wasn’t liked by anyone at all…
It followed Lucifa from the moment she left Sanctuary World all the way until now, until she met Tianyin.
And now, that inferiority and that panic and unease of being afraid of being abandoned had fused into Lucifa’s instincts.
And it was precisely because of that that, even while clearly knowing that after giving Pride to Tianyin she might encounter something terrible, Lucifa still wanted to give Pride to Tianyin. That was the most fundamental reason…
“Big Sis…”

Seeing that Tianyin was only patting her head and not speaking, Lucifa timidly glanced at Tianyin and probed in a voice as faint as a mosquito.
“Lucifa, I’m seriously considering your suggestion, you know~”
Looking at Lucifa’s flustered face, Tianyin felt helpless, and in her heart she could only sigh softly.
Even though she had more or less understood Lucifa’s mental state, after understanding it, Tianyin also felt at a loss for what to do for a while.
“Uu… Big Sis, Big Sis, does that mean you don’t need my help?”
Lucifa’s next words made Tianyin feel a bit troubled.
“It’s not like that… I’m really thinking about Lucifa’s suggestion, but because this kind of matter concerns Lucifa’s life, both emotionally and logically I can’t make a hasty decision.”
Of course, after completely controlling Lust, there was no risk in this at all. So what Tianyin was considering wasn’t actually Lucifa’s life, but rather Lucifa’s abnormal, “negative” mindset.
As long as it was someone important by her side, Tianyin didn’t want to see the important people around her looking like this.
And to Tianyin, Lucifa really was a “little Big Sis”. She had relied on her so much before. Then at a time like this, she absolutely couldn’t let down those feelings of reliance.
Besides, Tianyin had acknowledged that she was Lucifa’s Big Sis…
“Big Sis… Big Sis really doesn’t need to worry about me. I want to help Big Sis, and if I can help Big Sis, then I’ll be really, really happy…”
“But that makes me unhappy, idiot…!”

Tianyin was a bit annoyed, and instinctively used more strength as she ruffled Lucifa’s head.
“Muu…”
It seemed Tianyin’s unconscious strength made it hurt, and Lucifa let out a soft little cry.
“Big Sis is mad?”
“Of course I’m mad! Idiot!”
Looking at Lucifa, who was filled with weakness, Tianyin felt an unprovoked surge of anger in her heart.
So, out of a mindset of “setting the mood”, Tianyin reached out both hands, then vigorously kneaded Lucifa’s soft little cheeks.
“Muu muu… Big Sis…?”
With her cheeks being kneaded by Tianyin, Lucifa stared blankly with wide eyes.
“And you still have the nerve to call me Big Sis. Lucifa? Do you know your way of thinking really makes me feel awful as your Big Sis!”
“Even though I really do want the power of Pride. But no matter how important the power of Pride is, no matter how much I want it, I can’t possibly sacrifice your life, Lucifa! Compared to your life, the power of Pride is something that has absolutely no meaning at all!”
“Do you understand?!”
“Treasure your own life properly, Lucifa! Yes, your mother did lose her life because of the Original Sin power on you. But even at the very end, she didn’t hate you because of the Original Sin power, didn’t resent you, right?”

“And your father, even though in the past he did reject you because of the Original Sin power on you. But that was only resentment in the heat of the moment. In the end, didn’t your father still quietly protect you, thinking of you with all his heart?”
“And those fallen angels who protected you, which one of them wasn’t staying by your side in order to protect you?”
“Lucifa, you give up on yourself like this, not treating your own life as anything at all… how could you face all those families who have protected you all this time?!”
“…”
Tianyin had blurted all of that out in one go because she was angry.
Even though it sounded like it made some sense, in the end it was just Tianyin being sharp-tongued for a moment. And after saying it all, Tianyin regretted it in her heart.
So, regretful, Tianyin subconsciously looked at Lucifa, wanting to know what Lucifa’s reaction was.
However, what made Tianyin feel surprised was that Lucifa’s expression had turned blank, as if her thoughts were no longer here.
“Seriously…”
Seeing Lucifa sitting there dazedly, not knowing what she was thinking, Tianyin painfully pulled Lucifa into her arms.
“I’m sorry, Lucifa… that was my fault just now, I shouldn’t have said it so harshly…”
Being held tightly by Tianyin, Lucifa blinked, then slowly closed her eyes.
“Big Sis doesn’t think Lucifa is a burden?”

“No. Lucifa is an important family.”
“Is that… so…”
At some point, Lucifa gradually fell asleep.
Many years ago, back then, Lucifa had also been like this, acting spoiled in her mother’s arms, sleeping in lazily.
Her mother’s embrace was always so warm, her mother’s voice always so gentle.
“Mother, does Father hate me?”
“He won’t, little Lucifa.”
Back then, the little girl really was just a little girl who didn’t understand anything. To her at that time, the whole world was so simple.
“Little Lucifa is our most important daughter. Your father and I will always love you…”
So it turned out, not everyone hated her…
And she, from the very beginning, had been treasured like a precious gem by her family.
