Volume 8, Chapter 34 – Tianyin’s Crisis
“Abyss above, Original Sin below!”
Just as the Abyssal Lord said, the ability to modify rules was not something unique to Tianyin.
Above the firmament, Tianyin stood in midair. At the moment the Abyssal Lord spoke those words, Tianyin felt a suppression rooted in rules press down upon her from the Abyssal Lord’s power.
She could clearly sense that the instant the Abyssal Lord modified the rules, the Original Sin power became like it had sunk into a mire. Even mobilizing it became extremely difficult.
“Abyss power…”
Even so, Tianyin’s heart was now incomparably hollow. With an empty heart, Tianyin expressionlessly endured the suppression from the rules, softly murmuring the power controlled by the Abyssal Lord.
“Abyss… is that it?”
The blade tightly gripped in her hand did not disappear. In Tianyin’s perception, the blade did not seem to have been dispelled by the Abyssal Lord’s words.
On the contrary, the power on the blade seemed to be suppressing the surrounding Original Sin power.
“This is…”
The previous scene flashed through her mind. With her emotions extraordinarily calm, Tianyin instantly understood the exact reason.
However, in these brief few seconds of Tianyin’s contemplation, the Abyssal Lord would not obediently stand at a distance watching her reaction.
Within those few seconds, the Abyssal Lord launched another attack at Tianyin.

This time, the attack was no longer the dazzling annihilation beams, but a rule attack belonging solely to Abyss power.
Space around Tianyin shattered inch by inch. Like glass being smashed, huge cracks began to appear one after another.
And as the space around Tianyin began to break apart, Tianyin’s body also bore the powerful rule attack that caused space itself to shatter.
Rule attacks were not something that could be observed with the naked eye. If it were ordinary players or common people, rule attacks would be completely traceless.
Even ordinary Throne-tier beings could not understand such attacks. Just like ants could not imagine whether the water flooding them was manmade or natural, ordinary people could not imagine or comprehend the concrete form of rule attacks.
However, for Tianyin, who also understood rule attacks, the Abyssal Lord’s assault was clearly visible to her.
Space shattered because the Abyssal Lord bestowed the rule of “self-destruction” upon the space around her. And because Tianyin was also within the scope of the “self-destruction” rule, her body was bearing a rule attack capable of making even space “self-destruct”!
“I must leave this place…”
Her calm gaze glanced once at the distant Abyssal Lord, and Tianyin’s figure vanished from where she stood.
In the next second, the space where Tianyin had been was completely shattered. Thankfully, relying on her extremely fast speed, Tianyin did not suffer substantial damage at the first moment.
“Hahahahahahahahaha, you run pretty fast. But next, you won’t be able to run that fast anymore~”
The Abyssal Lord’s face was filled with manic laughter. As she spoke, the surrounding Abyss power began to be mobilized by her.
“Restrict movement!”

Immediately after, the Abyssal Lord issued a rule restricting Tianyin’s movement.
Although Tianyin also possessed the ability to modify rules, because the Abyssal Lord had previously established the rule of Abyss above and Original Sin below, Tianyin was unable to immediately remove that suppression rooted in rules.
And if Tianyin were to continue being suppressed like this by the Abyssal Lord, then being killed by the Abyssal Lord and having her Original Sin power taken would be a foregone conclusion.
“Uncomfortable…”
Feeling the invisible shackles binding her body, Tianyin merely expressed her physical sensation. Her heart remained incomparably calm.
Even though she was very clear about her current predicament, Tianyin felt no panic at all.
“Die.”
With the Abyssal Lord having imposed a rule restricting her actions, Tianyin also decided to give the Abyssal Lord a “return gift”.
But now it seemed that Tianyin would still simply overlay the rule of “die” onto the Abyssal Lord.
“Puh— puh—”
As the rule of death was designated upon the Abyssal Lord by Tianyin, in the next second the Abyssal Lord’s eyes instantly dimmed.
Not only that, her breathing stopped, her heartbeat stopped. Her blood flow ceased at that moment, and her body gradually grew cold.

However…
This scene only lasted for several dozen seconds.
After those several dozen seconds, the aura of “life” reappeared on the Abyssal Lord. Light returned to her eyes, and the blood flow and heartbeat within her body resumed once more.
“Hahahahahahahahaha! It’s useless, useless. Didn’t I say it already? If you think you can kill me with just this kind of method, then it’s completely ineffective!”
Without a doubt, what the Abyssal Lord said was the truth.
But even so, Tianyin, who could not feel any emotion in her heart, continued to modify the rules toward the Abyssal Lord.
“Die.”
The repeated scene appeared once again. However, this time, the time it took for the Abyssal Lord to revive from death was shortened by a full second.
“Stop wasting your effort! A mere vessel. You only need to obediently hand over the power you control to me. Maybe I can even leave you a whole corpse.”
The lord of Inferno spoke cruel words in a manic voice. In Tianyin’s eyes, such words were nothing but meaningless nonsense.
“However, the rule of death cannot truly kill her.”
She still harbored the urge to kill the Abyssal Lord, but Tianyin knew that such a brainless method simply could not kill the Abyssal Lord.
“As for a method… what else is there?”

Lowering her head to look at the blade in her hand, Tianyin could not think of any good solution for the moment.
“Even if I can’t think of one, I still can’t give my power to this guy.”
Not having an idea did not mean Tianyin wanted to surrender. Although Tianyin in her current state was completely different from before, as long as her memories remained, she clearly understood what kind of outcome would come from handing her power to the Abyssal Lord.
Moreover, Original Sin power was the only strength Tianyin had to protect Dawn and the important people around her!
“You’ve come this far and still won’t give up?”
Seeing Tianyin’s unmoved and unpersuadable reaction, the Abyssal Lord’s tone grew increasingly low.
“If that’s the case, then I can take the power myself. But before taking the Original Sin power, I must torment you, this vessel!”
She bluntly stated what she was about to do and her objective. The eyes fixed on Tianyin revealed a chilling madness and killing intent.
“Then… go die, vessel!”
In the next moment, Tianyin could feel that the rule of “die” she had previously imposed upon the Abyssal Lord was forcibly transferred onto her own body by the Abyssal Lord.
Immediately after, vitality began to gradually drain away from Tianyin.
