Volume 9, Chapter 2 – Descent
Volume 9, Chapter 2 – Descent
The war at the Northern Fortress finally came to an end.
It could be said that it ended in a very baffling way.
Because during the great battle, both sides noticed the disappearance of their own leaders.
The Abyssal Lord, who had been arrogant to the point of being unrivaled, vanished. Likewise, Tianyin, who was supposed to be fighting the Abyssal Lord, also vanished.
This situation was truly unprecedented. The highest Throne-tier existences of both sides disappeared at the same time, while the subordinates who were fighting fiercely below were completely unaware. In the end, when they realized the people were gone, they were left utterly dumbfounded.
Because of the Abyssal Lord’s disappearance, the demon army gathered outside the Northern Fortress chose to retreat.
Similarly, because of Tianyin’s disappearance, whether it was the Knight Princess Fisiel or the Frost Dragon Ysera, neither had any mind to continue fighting.
The loss of their pillar caused the two girls to fall into anxiety. And because Tianyin’s existence was far too important, Fisiel did not dare to announce Tianyin’s disappearance right away.
The existence of a Throne-tier was the backbone of a faction. Likewise, as a Throne-tier herself, Tianyin possessed prestige and popularity throughout Dawn that were difficult for anyone to rival.
If the news of Tianyin’s disappearance were made public, what would happen within Dawn would be impossible to predict.
This newly born faction, composed of races of exceptionally complex makeup, could it fall into internal chaos just because of Tianyin’s disappearance? Even Fisiel did not dare to think about that.
“I saw destiny being shrouded by a vast expanse of white fog. Not only Xiaoyin’s information… now even my own, which is related to you all, can no longer be seen through astrology.”
In order to find the missing Tianyin, the first person Fisiel thought of was her close friend, the Astrologer Witch Yivrea.

The predictive ability of astrology was extremely bug-like, so Fisiel’s idea was to rely on astrology to deduce Tianyin’s location.
But reality proved to be somewhat disappointing.
Just as the words above said, astrology had already failed. Not only Tianyin’s destiny, but now Yivrea could not even glimpse her own destiny.
“What exactly is going on?”
Even though it had been explained clearly enough, the Knight Princess still asked in disbelief.
“My astrology has failed. I can’t predict anything…”
This answer was extremely concise, so concise that it made one question life itself.
As the Astrologer Witch, Yivrea, who was of Legendary-tier, relied precisely on this astrology that could peer into the future.
Strictly speaking, the predictive power of astrology was the ability to glimpse a corner of the most likely future, and the result would change as the future itself changed.
The ability to see through destiny was far too strange. If Yivrea’s own combat power were not relatively lacking, it would have been impossible for her to be evaluated as merely Legendary-tier.
Returning to the point, even with such powerful astrology, it had now completely failed…
“When Xiaoyin suddenly disappeared, did any of you notice anything at the time?”

With astrology being useless, Yivrea decisively gave up on using it to infer the result, and instead asked about the situation at the time from Fisiel.
“I don’t know… my lord was fighting the Abyssal Lord the entire time. And we were also clearing out the demon army attacking the city. So when we realized my lord had disappeared, none of us noticed anything…”
Speaking of this, Ysera suddenly hated herself.
With Tianyin’s life and death unknown, this pure-hearted girl directly placed all the responsibility on herself.
“This is all my fault. If I had chosen to follow Xiaoyin from the start, so many things wouldn’t have happened… Maybe when Tianyin disappeared, I could have stepped in to stop it. Or at the very least, I could have taken her place…”
In fact, Tianyin had not encountered any danger, nor had she faced any major crisis.
Even so, whether it was Fisiel, Ysera, or Yivrea, all of them subconsciously attributed Tianyin’s disappearance to her having encountered mortal danger.
Was she forced outside the world by the Abyssal Lord?
Or did she shatter space and get swept into spatial turbulence?
Or did she fight the Abyssal Lord all the way into the void?
No one knew what had actually happened, but treating the situation with the worst possible assumptions would not be wrong.
“You don’t need to place all the blame on yourself… After all, we are already very grateful that you were able to come support us.”
Fisiel would not truly blame Xiaobingxue just because Ysera, that is Xiaobingxue, blamed herself.

On the contrary, Fisiel comforted the self-reproaching Xiaobingxue.
“My lord’s disappearance can’t be concealed for too long. Although we don’t have any leads at the moment, first search the Northern Fortress inside and out. If we still can’t find her, then directly expand the scope.”
A carpet search.
This was already the most helpless method available.
Although this method was clumsy and foolish, with no clues at all, Fisiel could only place her hopes on the possibility that Tianyin, as their lord, might be sleeping somewhere within the Northern Fortress.
……
And while Fisiel was still agonizing over where Tianyin had gone, Tianyin, who had already completely fused with the System Light Orb, appeared at the very beginning… in the void where she had “been born” in the game.
A dark void where no substance could be seen.
There was no sense of standing anywhere, and no reference objects at all. Yet despite this, Tianyin had arrived in this void.
“The game rules began operating one hundred thousand years ago. By adjusting the time flow rates of the two worlds, in the other world, one hundred thousand years have actually only passed as ten years.”
Ten years, which perfectly corresponded to the development time of the “Subworld virtual reality” game.
“The agreement with the outsiders regarding the immortality plan can now be considered void. At this moment, it’s time to let the two worlds completely merge.”

Saying this without any expression, as Tianyin’s words spread through the void, one after another, girls shrouded in spheres of light gradually appeared, like dolls.
Almost all of these girls emitted a presence comparable to Throne-tier existences. However, judging from their eyes that lacked any luster, these girls actually had no souls.
To be precise, the former the Supreme believed that beings with souls were far too difficult to control, and thus created these girls who had no souls and only acted according to instinct.
And as she looked at these appearing girls, Tianyin’s voice became exceptionally cold.
“Begin executing the descent.”
“Understood-”
After receiving this order, over a hundred girls once again faded into the void.
Of course, these girls did not truly disappear. Instead, they began performing the descent ritual within the void.
With Tianyin, as the Supreme, constructing a bridge connecting the two worlds, these Throne-tier beings began descending in reverse through that bridge.
Yes, in the past, it was always players entering the game world. But now…
It was “NPCs” entering the real world.
