Volume 9, Chapter 4 – Cosmic Will
The universe is like a bubble.
And different universes are different bubbles.
Within the chaos, all kinds of universes exist, yet under normal circumstances they neither meet nor collide with one another.
Beyond the boundaries of a universe lies pitch black chaos. So in the eyes of the people of the world, the universe itself appears infinitely vast, and the most fundamental reason for this is that the universe is wrapped in boundless dark chaos.
Therefore, in reality, the universe does have boundaries.
The universe created by the Creation Dragon God has its own scope.
The Main World continent floats at the center of the cosmic sea, and surrounding the Main World are countless planes that encircle it like stars orbiting the sun.
Sanctuary, Graveyard, Nature, Academy. These factions with their own strongholds are planes each faction discovered within the cosmic sea.
The planes within the cosmic sea are endless. Even the Creation Dragon God cannot clearly say how many planes exist within it.
Of course, even though the planes of the cosmic sea are infinite, the cosmic sea itself still has its own range, its own end.
And at the end of the cosmic sea lies the boundary of this “world”, the boundary of this universe.
According to the principles described earlier, two different universes should be incapable of colliding, and even more incapable of encountering one another within the chaos.

But in reality, something that should never have happened did happen. Two universes collided, and as the two universes met, the rules belonging to different universes began to open up and merge.
In a universe that possesses supernatural abilities, the source of all power is inherently inexplicable.
But in another universe, the situation is completely opposite. Everything within that universe can be explained through data, and all operations of the universe can be discovered and understood.
Two utterly different sets of universal rules began to intermingle because of the meeting of the universes. And when these inherently opposing rules fused together, a new rule was born.
Everything became datafied and modularized. Supernatural powers could be analyzed through data, and the verified supernatural abilities echoed the descriptions within the data.
Thus, the game known as Subworld appeared within one of the universes. And in truth, Subworld is actually another universe. However, in the ignorant eyes of humans, it is merely a game world they created, one that belongs to them.
Because all the data was set by them. Whether it was the Eight Great Factions or the various histories, all of it was written stroke by stroke by their own hands.
Yet these people did not know that what they conceived in their minds, what they believed should belong to the world they created, was in fact nothing more than “inspiration” born under the interference of the universe.
The original world was always like this. It was merely a hint under universal rules, a trigger, and such a world was “created” through the hands of those people.
The life of one universe descended into another universe.
In fact, this was also meant to allow the two universes to merge more smoothly. After all, in the former universe, supernatural abilities did not exist at all. If the two universes merged directly, the lives of that universe would very likely fall into a tragic forbidden zone.
Thus, the “outsiders”, meaning “humans from other worlds”, under the interference of the cosmic will, were very naturally accepted by the life of the other universe as well.

“The fusion of universes is not permitted.”
However, Tianyin, who had already regained all her memories, could not agree with this at all.
No… to be precise, Tianyin’s own mission was to prevent such a phenomenon from occurring within the chaos. A universe is itself an independent existence. At the same time, the power possessed by a single universe is beyond imagination.
Of course, the universes within the chaos are like grains of sand in a sea. At every moment, countless universes are born, and at every moment, countless universes are destroyed.
And logically speaking, a universe should eventually face its own destruction.
However, a universe possesses a will. Even though that will is more ignorant than intelligent life, so weak that it only acts on instinct, the universe still does not wish to face the ending of its own annihilation.
Therefore, Tianyin’s mission is precisely this.
A universe that should not be destroyed instead faces destruction. And the result caused by the fusion of two universes is the “transcendence” of the cosmic will.
The vastness of a universe causes its cosmic will to be diluted. But when two cosmic wills merge, they will evolve into a complete will, and this is a phenomenon that the mechanisms governing the operation of chaos do not acknowledge.
When a cosmic will “transcends” and evolves into an independent lifeform, such a lifeform possessing immense power will, in order to avoid its own destruction, choose to endlessly devour other worlds within the chaos.
And this is an act that violates the operational mechanisms of chaos.

“Destruction itself is my mission.”
As the entire research institute fell into silence, under the protection of numerous silver-haired girls, Tianyin crossed the distance of two universes and descended here.
Recalling the “mission” she had borne since the moment of her birth, Tianyin’s purpose became ever clearer.
“This world can no longer properly welcome destruction, so it needs to be cleansed.”
“Then push forward the process of universal fusion, forcibly compel the hidden cosmic will to appear, and then cleanse it.”
And this was Tianyin’s ultimate purpose in descending here.
Simple destruction could not achieve this. Even if this universe were destroyed until not even a single grain of dust remained, the universe itself would still exist.
Only by “cleansing” the cosmic will could the universe truly be destroyed.
However, the cosmic will itself is an elusive existence. It is the universe itself, the totality of everything that composes the universe.
Humans, planets, matter, space, time.
These are all manifestations of the cosmic will, but none of them are the true cosmic will.
The true cosmic will only appears when it must appear.

At the birth of a universe, or at the moment of its destruction.
Of course, if Tianyin wanted to wait for the moment of destruction, that would be impossible. But now, there was an opportunity to force the cosmic will to appear.
That opportunity was the fusion of two universes.
When universes fuse, the will that represents the universe will appear. And at that moment would be Tianyin’s best opportunity to “cleanse” the universe.
With a detailed plan already formed in her mind, Tianyin’s cold gaze turned toward the center of the laboratory, toward the quietly floating Light Orb.
“Break the Hub… then gather the rules within it, and finally disperse those rules.”
As Tianyin’s cold command rang out, a silver-haired girl standing behind her instantly drew her sword.
If this had been outside, the girl’s seemingly casual strike would have been enough to cleave a mountain range apart. Yet when it struck the Light Orb, the orb suffered no damage at all in a bizarre manner.
“…”
Seeing this, Tianyin fell into a rare silence.
