Volume 1, Chapter 68 – The Girl Who Couldn’t Speak

If you saw someone crawling out from the ground… what would you think?

Normally, in a game world, anyone who saw something like that would instinctively assume it was some sort of dangerous monster, right?

Even if that “something” looked like a cute little girl, caution would still be the right reaction.

But…

Seeing the little girl crawl out from the dirt, Tianyin’s expression didn’t show even a hint of surprise.

Watching her Master’s reaction, Xiaomengyao knew full well that her Master’s mind was still under the lingering influence of those candies.

And then Tianyin said something completely ridiculous.

“Wueh… what a… weird way to make an entrance.”

“Hey, Master, that’s your concern? Shouldn’t the real concern be that something just suddenly popped out of the ground?”

Xiaomengyao suddenly thought that if she weren’t around, her little loli Master might really get kidnapped someday.

As she was thinking that, the girl who had just crawled out of the ground slowly stood up on shaky legs.

Looking closely, the girl had long, ice-blue hair. Her upper body was clothed in a finely patterned, unfamiliar uniform, and below she wore a pleated skirt that covered her thighs.

What was most surprising was that, even though she had literally crawled out of the dirt, her clothes were completely clean.

“Suu…”

The girl let out a faint hum, standing unsteadily as her body swayed. Her blue eyes were only half open, her expression clearly one of someone who had just woken up.

Seeing her in that state, Xiaomengyao’s big eyes instinctively turned toward her Master.

How should she put it…

This girl looked exactly like her Master when she didn’t want to get out of bed in the morning.

“Disciple, what are you staring at me for?”

Noticing Xiaomengyao’s gaze, Tianyin looked puzzled.

But Xiaomengyao didn’t answer. She just stared at Tianyin with a strange expression… and at the same time, because of Tianyin’s voice, the half-asleep girl finally struggled to open her eyes.

“Suu…”

Tilting her head, the newly awakened girl looked at Tianyin and Xiaomengyao with a dazed, blank expression.

Seeing her awake, Tianyin smiled sweetly and naturally greeted her.

“You’re awake? Looks like you were just taking a nap underground?”

“Master… isn’t that kind of a weird thing to say? Who buries themselves in the dirt to sleep?”

Xiaomengyao looked at Tianyin with an exasperated expression.

“Well, that’s true…”

Tianyin made a face that clearly said, “Ah, so that’s how it is.”

“Then why were you sleeping underground?”

“Suu…”

The girl just tilted her head again, a puzzled look on her face.

Then, under Tianyin and Xiaomengyao’s watchful eyes, she crouched down and began using her fair, delicate finger to draw on the ground.

No… to be precise, she was writing.

“Eh… you can’t talk?”

Seeing that reaction, Tianyin instinctively asked.

The girl didn’t seem flustered at all, continuing to write slowly and calmly.

Since this world wasn’t a real one, its language and system elements had already been predesigned when the game was first created. As a result, the written language of the game world had developed its own distinct script.

Because players were technically outsiders, the System provided a translation function for most public or common text. However, it didn’t translate private or hidden messages.

So, when the girl began writing on the ground, Xiaomengyao, being a player, was completely lost.

But that wasn’t a problem for Tianyin, since she was a native NPC.

“Master, Master… what’s she writing?”

Curious, Xiaomengyao leaned close to Tianyin’s ear to whisper. But the moment her lips brushed near Tianyin’s ear, Tianyin’s whole body shivered from the ticklish sensation.

“Ehh… don’t get so close…”

“Then hurry up and tell me, Master~”

Her loli disciple, of course, ignored the complaint.

“Wuu… what’s she writing… lemme see… it looks like… You, two, disturbed… my… sleep…”

“Eh? Master, are you sure you read that right?”

Hearing Tianyin’s words, Xiaomengyao’s face was full of disbelief.

“Of course, that’s exactly what it says. Right?”

“Suu…”

Seeing the emotionless little girl nod expressionlessly, Xiaomengyao had no choice but to accept it, whether she wanted to or not.

Still though… Was there really someone who would bury themselves to sleep?

And a cute little girl at that?

Xiaomengyao started to think maybe she needed to learn to see the world more like her carefree loli Master.

Just then, the little girl lowered her head again and started scribbling more words on the ground.

Tianyin naturally crouched beside her, reading each word aloud as the girl wrote them.

The scene looked exactly like two little kids learning to read together.

“You”

“Shouldn’t”

“Be”

“Standing”

“Here…”

After reading it out loud, Tianyin blinked in confusion at the girl.

“Eh… me? Or both me and my disciple? And why can’t we stand here?”

In response, the girl just silently lowered her head again and began writing slowly.

“You’re step…”

Tianyin read aloud, word by word, as the girl finished her sentence.

“You’re stepping on my house.”

“Hmm~? How did I step on your house?”

Tianyin was completely confused now, and even Xiaomengyao, who’d been silently watching from the side, looked equally puzzled.

After all, “You’re stepping on my house” was…

A pretty weird thing to say, no matter how you heard it.

In response to their confused looks, the girl simply pointed at Tianyin’s feet.

“Hm? What do you mean by that?”

“Suu…”

The girl let out a small hum, then, under the two lolis’ curious gazes, reached her hand out toward Tianyin’s feet…

Translator Note

Alright, now there is another loli.

Since I already use “Wuu” for Tianyin’s unique word to express her cuteness and “Uu” for Mengyao’s, what should I choose for this new loli?

For now I chose “Suu”, but if you have better suggestion, feel free to let me know~

And also, I don’t know yet how many new lolis will appear, but at this point I’m sure she won’t be the last. So, we might need to prepare more unique words for future lolis~
