Volume 1, Chapter 9 – The Name of 【Fairy】 (Part 1)
The beginner’s village wasn’t actually very big.
Aside from a few NPCs that provided supplies to players, there were only a handful of villager-type NPCs scattered around with no dialogue templates.
So the actual area the beginner’s village covered was very small.
Surrounding the village were fields that had long since gone barren. In those fields roamed monsters called “Red-Eyed Rabbits,” level 1 creatures.
Beyond those fields stretched vast plains. There, level 3 Plain Wolves and level 5 Alpha Plain Wolves prowled.
The Plain Wolves stayed near the fields, while the Alpha Plain Wolves occupied the deeper regions of the plains.
Overall, the layout was simple: the beginner’s village sat in the center, surrounded by the fields, and beyond them stretched the endless plains enclosing everything.
Leaving the plains meant reaching the outer edge of the beginner’s zone. At those edges were portals known as Instance Entry Points.
In the four directions, east, south, west, and north, stood four different instance portals. Every beginner’s village in the game world was built the same way.
“Well, in short, that’s the general layout around the beginner’s village, Xiaoyin. Remember all that?”
While holding Tianyin’s small hand, Xingyu Muxi spoke in a patient tone.
“Hmm… I see… But right now, Sister Xiaomu, if we’re going to level up, where should we go?”
“Of course, to the fields where the level 1 Red-Eyed Rabbits spawn.”

She said it as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.
“Though, the problem is that too many players have been grinding here these past few days, so most of the Red-Eyed Rabbits have already been wiped out…”
It wasn’t an empty complaint. The game had only launched a few days ago, so practically every player was still stuck in the beginner’s area.
Even though there were plenty of beginner villages to spread out the traffic, the sheer number of players still far outpaced the number of low-level monsters.
“In that case, why don’t we just go after the Plain Wolves instead?”
Understanding Xingyu Muxi’s meaning, Tianyin obediently offered a reasonable suggestion.
“No!”
But to Tianyin’s surprise, Xingyu Muxi immediately rejected the idea.
“The level 3 Plain Wolves are far too dangerous for you right now, Xiaoyin. The level 1 Red-Eyed Rabbits are much safer.”
“Hmm… I see…”
Tianyin felt a bit touched, though this wasn’t really the time for that, because before they realized it, they had already reached the area where the level 1 Red-Eyed Rabbits appeared.
But despite stepping into the rabbits’ field, Tianyin couldn’t see a single one of the fluffy little creatures Xingyu Muxi had mentioned.
“Sister Xiaomu… there really isn’t a single rabbit here like you said.”

Looking toward the fields, all Tianyin saw were groups of players searching for Red-Eyed Rabbits, all hoping to farm some experience.
Seeing the scattered players before them, Xingyu Muxi’s expression stayed blank, as if she were deep in thought.
Then, when Tianyin spoke, her face softened, becoming much gentler.
“It’s fine, Xiaoyin. There are just too many players around right now. But wait a bit longer, and maybe there’ll be fewer soon.”
“Fewer?”
Tianyin blinked in confusion, her big round eyes filled with innocent puzzlement.
“What do you mean, Sister Xiaomu?”
“Just what it sounds like~”
The girl smiled faintly at Tianyin as she spoke in a teasing, cryptic tone.
The next scene, however, made Tianyin understand what Xingyu Muxi meant.
Because in her line of sight, from the direction of the plains, came a group of players whose very presence exuded a sense of power.
Why did they seem so imposing? Because every one of them was tall, broad-shouldered, and radiated an aura that warned others not to approach.

When these players appeared, every other player in the field, except Xingyu Muxi and Tianyin, instinctively looked uneasy.
Then, from among that group, a tall man in full armor stepped forward.
He held a long spear in one hand. Behind the tightly sealed armor, only a pair of sharp, commanding eyes could be seen.
Those eyes briefly swept across Xingyu Muxi and Tianyin before turning toward the wary players around them.
Then the man slowly thrust the tip of his spear into the ground.
“Everyone, this area has been claimed by our Xuanyuan Alliance. So, let me give you all some advice. Within one minute, disappear from our sight.”
It was an overbearing declaration, leaving no room for negotiation, as if the leveling area already belonged solely to them.
“Sister Xiaomu, what’s the Xuanyuan Alliance?”
Hearing the man’s words, Tianyin tugged gently on Xingyu Muxi’s sleeve, curiosity all over her face.
“The Xuanyuan Alliance… is basically just a guild.”
Xingyu Muxi explained.
“A guild?”
Before her transformation, Tianyin had been a boy who didn’t spend much time on virtual games. So while the Xuanyuan Alliance was a name well known to other players, it meant nothing to her.

In just the few seconds that Tianyin and Xingyu Muxi talked, most of the solo players had already decided to leave, unwilling to get involved with the Xuanyuan Alliance.
However, a few players who were new to the game, and didn’t realize how powerful the Xuanyuan Alliance was, stayed behind.
“Oh, interesting. It’s been a while since I’ve seen players who refuse to back down after we warn them~”
The tall, armored man gave a cold, sharp look to the few who remained, then slowly pulled his spear from the ground.
“Hmph! Don’t think I’m scared of you just because you’ve got more people. If we’re talking about skill, I’m not afraid of anyone!”
Among those few remaining players, a red-haired girl with flame-like locks glared at him in defiance.
“Tsk tsk, talking like that, I almost thought you were that legendary player~”
The man clicked his tongue in amusement.
“But even if she were here, so what? This game’s just started. Everyone’s still at the same level. No matter how good you are, numbers win in the end, right?”
As he said that, his gaze turned toward Xingyu Muxi, who had been silently watching him from a short distance away.
“Wouldn’t you agree, ‘Fairy’?”
