Chapter 15.1
Chapter 15.1
Chu Xiaoxiao replied in a childish voice, “You’re welcome~ ”
Chu Xiaoyi couldn’t bear to look directly at them. Exasperated, he couldn’t accept the childish atmosphere for a while. He only felt that Chu Xiaoxiao and Director Li were both poisonous.
The program team of “Our Family over Several Generations” needed time to prepare. Director Li and others had to finalize the contract details with Chu Xiaoyi’s team, and also arrange the setup of the cameras at their home in Rongtai Community.
The preparations were so intense that before they knew it, it was time for Chu Xiaoxiao to start school. This coincided with the recording time of the first episode of the program.
Chu Xiaoyi couldn’t stay at home for a long time, so he could only come back from time to time to record an episode, and each episode had different tasks.
Director Li has informed him of their target for the first issue. He hoped that Chu Xiaoyi can independently take care of the family operations for three days.
Chu Xiaoyi put his hands in his pockets and said lazily, “So I just have to stay at home with my sister for three days?”
He then continued muttering, “Well actually, she’s about to start school so it’ll be shortened to a day…right?”
Chu Xiaoyi roughly understood the meaning of the program team. That is, to let him do housework at home, go out to buy vegetables, and take care of his sister in his spare time.
Well…it’s a fairly reasonable task.
Director Li didn’t make a fuss at first. He probably wanted him to start from easy to difficult and not to start with hell mode immediately.
Director Li stated, “Actually, we’ll just let you take over your parents’ household chores for a short while.”
Chu Xiaoyi responded, “Sure. I just have to clean up the house, cook dinner, and occasionally take care of the little one right?”
Chu Jiadong listened on the side and immediately showed a worried expression. He quickly intervened, “Otherwise, should I let my cousin come over? Or should I stay home for three days?”
As the company’s CEO, Chu Jiadong no longer had to go to work every day and had a very flexible schedule.
Chu Xiaoyi refuted, “No need, don’t bother my uncle!”
He certainly hoped that the fewer people in the family the better, reducing many unnecessary troubles.
Xiao Bi looked hesitant, “Well, Xiaoxiao still has a school opening ceremony that requires parents to attend. I also think that these two days are indeed not very suitable…”
On one side, Director Li didn’t want to reveal his true intentions. He deliberately inquired about the situation at kindergarten and chose these two days.
Chu Xiaoyi replied, “It’s fine! I’ll go to her opening ceremony. It’s not a big deal. She won’t cause any trouble!”
“No, it’s not that…” Xiao Bi hesitated and couldn’t describe what she wanted to say for a while.
Xiaoxiao’s situation in kindergarten was more complicated. Before, Han Ya suggested that she be sent to study in the genius class to learn.
But, she was not yet old enough and was in an awkward transitional period.
While each had their own thoughts, Chu Xiaoxiao was the calmest. Throughout the whole process, she enjoyed watching cartoons.
Her recent playlist has been updated and she was watching “Frozen” with great relish, ignoring all the chatter from adults.
Chu Xiaoyi decisively dispelled his parents’ unnecessary worries and promised that everything would go smoothly for the three-day stay. He also promised that they would return home after work in the evening.
Chu Jiadong and Xiao Bi were both skeptical and fell into silence.
Chu Xiaoyi said, “I’ve lived outside for so long after all. I have at least some basic self-care skills!”
This time, even his agent He Xin showed hesitation and scratched his head in embarrassment. He himself was not sure whether his artist indeed had that capability.
….
On the day of the recording, Chu Jiadong and Xiao Bi still felt a little worried and repeatedly reminded Chu Xiaoyi before leaving.
Because Xiao Bi was teaching in high school, Chu Jiadong had to drive her to school. The two of them left very early, almost before dawn.
Chu Xiaoxiao was still sleeping in the small room with her head buried, but Chu Xiaoyi had to force himself to stay awake and persuade his parents to leave quickly, “Yes, yes, I know…”
Chu Jiadong said, “I still have to help Xiaoxiao pack her schoolbag tonight… Forget it, I’ll do it when I come back!”
“Fine, fine, fine! what else does she need?”
Xiao Bi added, “Don’t let her watch iPad for too long. If you can’t control her, call me…”
“How is it possible that I can’t control her? I can hold her down with just one hand.”
Chu Xiaoyi finally sent away his parents who were rambling endlessly. He felt that his eyelids were fighting fiercely and looked up, finding that it was not yet seven o’clock in the morning.
Weary, he simply went into the room and fell on the bed, continuing to sleep.
Chu Xiaoyi didn’t know how long he had slept. He felt a small hand moving around, as if pressing his face to and fro.
He opened his eyes still half-asleep and saw Chu Xiaoxiao, the little fella who he claimed he could hold down with just one hand.
Her right hand stretched up and down, pressing on his handsome face without any politeness.
The little girl was sitting on Chu Xiaoyi’s chest. Seeing that her dear brother finally opened his eyes, she calmly greeted in English, “ Hi, good morning .”
Honestly, I think you’re like a stray animal. Do you wake up on time every morning just to give your greetings?
Chu Xiaoyi was still dizzy from sleeping. He didn’t care about holding down this little thing for a while and reached out to get his phone, confusedly saying, “What time is it?”
Seeing “10:32 a.m.” popping up on the screen, Chu Xiaoyi was shocked. He immediately sat up and exclaimed, “I actually slept so long like a pig…”
Could it be that the morning was devoured by an unknown monster?
