Chapter 15.2

“ Please don’t insult Peppa and George !”

Seeing that she successfully woke up her stupid brother, Chu Xiaoxiao jumped off the bed like an agile little rabbit.

“?!”

Chu Xiaoyi finished washing up in a hurry. He opened the refrigerator to check the ingredients inside, then thought of the time. He suggested, “Shall we just have some bread for breakfast?”

Chu Xiaoxiao glanced at him and replied, “ Fine .”

Chu Xiaoyi said, “Why do I always feel that you have a sarcastic tone when you speak English? Can’t we just communicate in our native tongue?”

Chu Xiaoxiao switched back to her mother tongue and explained, “But it’s English time in  our school right now. The teacher said that parents should communicate with their children in English, even during summer and winter vacations.”

“Of course, ‘fine’ does mean what you think it means. Your feelings are not wrong.”

Chu Xiaoxiao felt that her brother was not entirely a blockhead. At least he was quite talented in catching the tone of voice.

Chu Xiaoyi vaguely recalled the situation during Spring Festival. He had forgotten who practiced English with the little one at home.

Maybe it’s because I wasn’t entirely awake in the mornings? I have no impression at all.

During his vacation, he only played with his sister and had no idea about her learning situation. “Fine, then I won’t talk to you in the morning from now on.”

Chu Xiaoyi quickly came up with a solution that he could hold on until the end of English time. Chu Xiaoyi finished prepping a simple bread and milk breakfast for the little one and began to study today’s lunch, planning to make a good meal at noon.

He took out the fresh meat that has been frozen from the top shelf of the refrigerator and took out a cutting board from the corner of the kitchen, planning to slice it with a knife.

Chu Xiaoxiao followed him silently like a little supervisor. She looked at the cutting board chosen by her brother and said calmly, “If Mom were here, you would be dead now.”

Chu Xiaoyi rebutted, “Hey, why aren’t you speaking English right now?”

Chu Xiaoxiao rolled her eyes and replied, “If you want others to realize the seriousness of the problem, you have to choose a language that the other party can understand the easiest to warn them.”

“You cut meat with a vegetable cutting board, which is a very serious mistake.”

Chu Xiaoyi looked at another cutting board and said in surprise, “What’s the difference between using which cutting board? Can’t I just wash it clean later?”

Chu Xiaoxiao pondered for a few seconds. She couldn’t explain this problem and could only describe the consequences intuitively, “If Mom knows about this, she will directly press you on the cutting board.”

The cutting boards in the kitchen had clear and detailed divisions, with different cutting boards for vegetables, raw meat, and cooked food.

Chu Xiaoyi glanced at the camera in the kitchen with guilty conscience. He was not sure whether this scene had been filmed or not. He was still wondering whether he had time to destroy the evidence.

He scrambled to clean up the wrong cutting board, put it away, then chose another cutting board to cut meat.

Chu Xiaoyi complained, “Can you go out? It’s useless for you to stay here.”

Chu Xiaoyi was cooking, but the little thing was staring closely at the side, making him a little pressured.

Chu Xiaoxiao paid a deaf ear to his complaints and still stood motionless, watching him like a small nail stuck in the ground.

Chu Xiaoyi reached out and opened the gas stove, but found that it couldn’t be ignited. He couldn’t help but turn the button repeatedly. The gas stove still had no flames and made a beeping alarm sound at the same time, which startled him.

Chu Xiaoyi asked, “What does it mean? Is there no gas at home?”

Chu Xiaoxiao replied, “You turn on the range hood.”

“I’m talking about the gas stove…”

Chu Xiaoxiao repeated, “You turn on the range hood!”

Chu Xiaoyi listened to her impatient tone and had to obediently turn on the range hood, but was delightly surprised to find that the gas stove was successfully ignited. He said in admiration, “Great…”

Although Chu Xiaoxiao didn’t know how to cook, she always observed her parents’ actions and had accumulated a lot of small knowledges  in life.

Chu Xiaoxiao frowned slightly and said earnestly, “I know you don’t often come home to live, but I still have to live here. Please don’t burn our house down.”

She continued, “I probably won’t have time to watch cartoons today. I’m afraid my brother will make our family homeless in one day, and my parents will come back just to find that the house is burned down.”

Chu Xiaoyi was scorned by his sister. Under her pressure, he decided to show off his skills.

When he left their home before, he did cook frequently for himself and the food that he made indeed tasted good. Therefore, he planned to use these dishes to regain some face.

However, as the saying goes, at critical moments what people fear will come. Chu Xiaoyi succeeded in frying dishes outside every time, but when he returned home, he unexpectedly overcooked it, making it look ugly.

He put the fried meat slices on the table and immediately noticed the subtle expression of the little thing across.

She raised her eyebrows as if feeling a little uneasy, and her small face was almost wrinkled into a ball.

Chu Xiaoyi looked at her eyes and felt her eyes silently questioning… Is this it?

Chu Xiaoyi dryly wrapped things up and forced to save hus own face, “It’s just that it doesn’t look good, but the taste is still okay!”

Chu Xiaoxiao stared at the battered pork meat slices complicatedly and said sincerely, “Although I don’t want to waste food, I think they have already been wasted before they were put into the plate.”

This pig died so miserably that he even did not have a decent last appearance.
