Chapter 16.1
Chapter 16.1
Even a well-known traffic star was unable to remove the kid who was poisoned by Peppa Pig from the pond’s stagnant water. The young girl had a lot of fun jumping in the puddle. In fact, she even warmly invited her brother to jump with her as well.
Despite Chu Xiaoyi’s efforts to pull her out, the little thing slid into the middle of the stagnant water to avoid being caught.
Chu Xiaoyi did not wear rain boots, so he was unable to catch his sister. He could only circle around the stagnant water, exasperatedly saying, “You come out quickly!”
If it weren’t for the black-clothed cameraman still following from a distance, Chu Xiaoyi wanted to beat this child in anger, feeling that his nerves were about to collapse. He had a little bit of particularity for cleanliness, which was usually not too serious, but it was crazy for him to see this scene.
The small girl treading water in the rain appeared innocent and childlike to the onlookers. The child’s parents, however, had all of their attention concentrated on the splashes of muddy water, the dirt and dust, and the extra workload that they’ll have when they get back for no reason—brushing raincoats and rain boots.
Chu Xiaoyi had always been a straight steel man*, and he even occasionally disliked his fans for sending him mushy love words.
T/N: A term used to call men who don’t have any understanding of how a girl’s mind works oblivious even when sent signals by the girl they like.
Now that he’s had a taste of his own medicine, he looked like a cat on a hot tin roof. Full of impatience, he scolded, “Chu Xiaoxiao, you listen to me; come out!”
Not only did Chu Xiaoxiao not listen to him, she also sang the song “Let It Go” in the rain. She even imitated her brother’s dancing style as she sang in English.
“Let it go, let it go; I can’t hold it back anymore.”
“……”
I’m asking you to please hold yourself back immediately!
Chu Xiaoyi finally laid down his trump card: “If you don’t come out there at this instant, I’ll call mom!”
Chu Xiaoxiao’s singing came to an abrupt halt.
“Why do you have to spoil the joyful moments of children all around the world?”, she asked as she turned back incredulously. Her small face was full of displeasure.
Chu Xiaoxiao felt that her cheap brother was really spoiling the fun.
Obviously, even my father would occasionally dance with me; why do you have to spend the whole day snitching on me?
When Chu Xiaoyi saw her meekly approaching, he exasperatedly said, “Don’t drag other children into this!”
Obviously, you’re the one who’s naughty and mischievous. How come you’re still pulling others down?
Chu Xiaoxiao said with a straight face, “I didn’t drag any children; everyone went to play in the puddle voluntarily! Have you not jumped into a puddle when you were a child?”
Chu Xiaoyi rebutted her, saying, “Unlike you, I won’t imitate a pig. My childhood wasn’t spent watching a pig frolick every day!”
Chu Xiaoxiao muttered in a small voice, “Then you were such a boring kid…”
“When I was a child, it was popular for us to watch serious and proper dramas, unlike you, who watch cartoons every day. That’s why you don’t have any historical knowledge at all.”
Wronged, Chu Xiaoxiao had her head bowed. She slanted him a glance and coldly said, “What drama did you watch when you were a child?”
Chu Xiaoyi did not expect her to fight back. Put on the spot, he was forced to calmly say, “We all watched the Return of the Pearl . Have you heard of it?”
Chu Xiaoxiao shook her head. She knew nothing about the field of television drama and had not yet explored this section.
“?”
Not far away, the black-clad cameraman became speechless.
What kind of drama was this? There’s a generation gap between the two of you! How can you shamelessly cheat a child?
Chu Xiaoyi was disrupted by his sister’s ‘puddle bouncing’ operation modus, so he was not in the mood to lead the drenched and dirty little Xiaoxiao to buy food. He simply used his phone to order food online, then decided to go back to deal with her dirty clothes.
Chu Xiaoyi disgustedly checked on Chu Xiaoxiao. He rinsed her raincoat with water in the small courtyard while rambling, “Look at you all covered in mud. In the end, who washes it?”
“I can wash it myself…”
“You’re just saying that you can do it. But the truth is, you can’t wash them clean at all!”
Chu Xiaoxiao complainedly stared at him and said, “How can you be like this? You asked me to wash, so I have washed. I was doing fine until you suddenly snatched my clothes…
Chu Xiaoxiao thought that brother nagged a lot. She did not refuse to brush her own raincoat. However, the brush was taken away by her brother before she had the time to properly wash it, and he complained that she wasn’t meticulous about washing.
I just moved a bit slowly; why can’t you wait a little?
Chu Xiaoxiao’s initiative to brush the raincoat was commendable, but she simply did not have enough strength to brush it clean. Seeing that, Chu Xiaoyi presumed that it must be the guardian’s responsibility to clean it well again.
A goose-yellow raincoat and a pair of rain boots were hung out to dry under the eaves of the small courtyard. Chu Xiaoxiao regrettably looked at her bouncing equipment and lamented, “Anyway, sooner or later the raincoat had to be brushed. You should have just let me play in the mud a little bit longer.
Chu Xiaoyi retorted, “You wish! Still not entering the house?”
After Chu Xiaoyi washed his sister’s raincoat, he noticed that the afternoon quickly passed by, and it was time again to prepare the dinner.
Chu Xiaoyi unpacked the vegetables and muttered, “I feel like you’re like a little monster who devours time. See, I’ve spent all day circling around you.”
“What does this have to do with me? You slept ‘til noon. That’s why your day’s much shorter.”
“After talking to you for these two days, I don’t even want to have kids in the future.”
Chu Xiaoxiao glanced at him and said faintly, “You’re saying it as if you can find a wife.”
Dream on, cheap brother!
As if someone would be willing to start a family with him, he obviously can’t even cook well.
“?”
My little ancestor, what’s wrong with you?
