Chapter 21.1
Chapter 21.1
Of course Teacher Mei did not listen to Chu Xiaoyi’s nonsense. Her face showed a trace of embarrassment as she hesitantly said, “Sorry, what did you say…”
After a long sigh, Chu Xiaoyi said, “I know that professionals like you have your own way of handling students, such as how to intervene, influence, or punish a child’s behavior…”
“But these are useless for Chu Xiaoxiao. They may be effective for ordinary children, but she already has a certain amount of maturity. This kind of approach won’t work with her.”
The teachers’ varying demeanors were just tactics to manage students. Having a stern attitude would maintain order in the class while having a friendly attitude would motivate students. But sometimes, these attitudes would not fully represent what they have in mind.
“I may not speak as politely as my mother; you can take my attitude as being eager to protect my sister, just like those unreasonable parents. But before everything, I’d like to say sorry to you.”
Chu Xiaoyi firstly wanted to be honest with himself.
“What she cares about is not about who likes her or not. What she cares about is the attitude of the other party, the attitude of truly communicating with her as an equal.”
“When I asked you to act pitifully towards her, I wanted to let you tell her all your worries and pains. Because only when she understands the whole matter after listening to you, will there be true handshakes and calling of a truce.”
Chu Xiaoyi felt that the last intervention they had was only for formalities and was not sincere. That was why Chu Xiaoxiao still did not understand the crux of the problem. He was even willing to bet that Ms. Mei also did not explain the matter between them well.
Ms. Mei disapproved of what he said, “We can not say these to children….”
“It seems that you still can’t work with your emotions. Since all of this started because of the tense emotions between the two of you, then simply bring these emotions to an end. But at least let her know the reason.”
Ms. Mei was speechless for a moment.
“It’s not appropriate for me to ask about your career plans, and I don’t know if you still want to be a teacher in the future.”
“But I don’t want Xiaoxiao’s last impression of you to be that her first childhood teacher didn’t like her, and she didn’t like this teacher, and that’s it.”
Chu Xiaoyi shook his head, “This incident has no other effect except that it would make her heart uncomfortable, or even make her impression of teachers worse.”
Chu Xiaoyi used to be a headache in class, and he had met teachers who were good and bad to him. Some of those teachers’ words filled with revulsion, rejection, and contempt were never forgotten by him. Even now, it was annoying for him to think about.
Once hatred was formed, it was even more difficult to control his resistance to them.
Time came when a male teacher said helplessly, “Chu Xiaoyi, I am also just an ordinary person. I really do not know how to control you…”
The male teacher no longer shouted loudly at him, and no longer pretended to show him false goodwill. But when the other party confessed his incompetence, Chu Xiaoyi’s heart knot suddenly unraveled.
He suddenly felt that there was nothing to hate about him. The other party was not any kind of authority, but was also just an ordinary person.
Since he was an ordinary person, why should there have been a big feud in the first place?
In the past, the male teacher had some power in the school and seemed to be able to oppress the students wantonly. This naturally gave Chu Xiaoyi a keen sense of wariness especially when he felt that the other party was always deliberately targeting himself.
But when the teacher himself softened his stance and confessed his powerlessness, Chu Xiaoyi was no longer as tense as before and instead became enlightened.
The two sides did not trouble each other again. Chu Xiaoyi occasionally went back to school and would find him. But now they had no indescribable hate towards each other and were just ordinary student and teacher.
The first time he saw that teacher, he had a lot of trouble with him. But now he had a very calm attitude when he thought about him sometimes, and did not get upset when he reminisced his past experiences as a student under his wing.
Chu Xiaoyi did not want his sister to think negatively of her first teacher in the future. Being disgusted is a kind of unpleasant emotion that would only get buried deeper in your heart the longer you let it stay there.
You think you have succeeded in getting rid of your teacher the moment you part ways, but the influence brought by the other party does not easily dissipate, and would bother you into the future.
Because he was your teacher.
Maybe it may have been due to the nature of their profession, but in the eyes of an immature child, they are a representation of authority. No one liked to be denied by authority. Even if they said that they did not care, the teachers’ attitude towards them would still leave marks in their hearts.
Chu Xiaoxiao herself liked teaching people foreign languages so much, how could she not care about her teacher?
As she followed Chu Xiaoyi side by side, Ms. Mei only felt more tired than ever. She occasionally wanted to pull her legs out, run, and simply resign in an impulse.
She did not want to deal with this matter anymore, but her heart could not bear to leave it like this.
If I hurriedly walked away, perhaps Chu Xiaoxiao would really have a disgusting impression of teachers in the future.
