Chapter 1: The Villain Senior Brother Goes Dark, His Crazy Junior Brother Pretends to Be Blind [1]
"Ye Beiyu, bring the Condensed Jade Ointment and get over here."
Bai Yan half-lidded his eyes, his voice a lazy, weary drawl. As he finished, the spirit butterfly perched on his fingertip fluttered out the window.
He loosened his robes and tossed them aside carelessly, then tested the water with his toe before sinking into the steaming pool.
[Host, it's late. The male lead just finished the task you gave him and went to bed.]
Bai Yan propped his arm on the edge of the pool, his voice still lazy. "So?"
"I'm his villainous senior brother, not his mentor or friend. Besides, tormenting him is my job per your orders. Got a problem?"
[None.]
"Then shut up. I'm tired."
He'd just finished a sect mission, killed two demon beasts, and gotten hurt—so yeah, he was pretty beat.
If he wasn't happy, then his little junior brother—the male lead—wasn't going to have a good time either.
Bai Yan didn't have to wait long. When the knock came, he just turned his head.
The youth walked slowly toward him in the moonlight, holding a box of ointment. He wore only a thin inner robe, and in the cold night wind and pale moonlight, he looked fragile.
Bai Yan watched Ye Beiyu's cautious manner, a faint smile tugging at his lips, amusement glinting in his eyes.
So this was the male lead of this world—the junior brother he'd taken in as a disciple on his master's behalf a year ago, personally taking him under his wing.
Crazy talented, obedient, and well-behaved. Even after a whole year of humiliation, he still respected his senior brother. A genuinely good kid.
Too bad he was the villain and the other was the protagonist. His whole purpose in this world was to humiliate him.
"Se-Senior Brother... I brought the medicine..."
Ye Beiyu looked up at him. His eyes were gorgeous—like South Sea pearls holding stars, glimmering with faint, scattered light.
What a shame. Such beautiful eyes, and yet they couldn't see.
Bai Yan looked at Ye Beiyu, and the irritation in his chest slowly faded.
He smiled and let Ye Beiyu stand there, but instead of responding, he went back to cleaning his wounds.
Ye Beiyu, left hanging, didn't take offense. He held the ointment, obediently and calmly watching Bai Yan.
Bai Yan had no intention of acknowledging Ye Beiyu, so of course he didn't notice the youth staring at his collarbone, his gaze trailing down, the brief darkness flashing in his eyes, and the slight curl of his lips.
After leaving him waiting for a good while, Bai Yan finally drawled, "Come over and put the medicine on for me."
"Huh? B-But, Senior Brother..."
Ye Beiyu's face showed a flash of flustered panic, and his grip on the box tightened.
Bai Yan tilted his head to look at Ye Beiyu, raised an eyebrow, and his voice went cold.
"What? I don't mind that you're a little blind boy, but you're the one who's unwilling?"
"No! I'm not!"
Ye Beiyu hurriedly explained, as if afraid of making the man wait. Clutching the ointment, he walked toward Bai Yan.
Bai Yan watched him walk so steadily and narrowed his eyes. This wasn't the effect he'd wanted.
Just as he was about to cast a spell to trip Ye Beiyu, Ye Beiyu actually stumbled and fell into the pool.
"Ahh! Senior Brother!"
The youth was only wearing a thin inner robe and couldn't see a thing. Now that he'd fallen into the pool, he instinctively thrashed, trying to grab onto something.
Bai Yan was happy to watch the show, a smirk curling his lips. He had no intention of helping.
Ye Beiyu sank into the water, his gaze growing darker. He stared hard at Bai Yan's ankle.
Through his seemingly panicked flailing, he lightly but firmly grabbed the jade-like foot he'd been longing for...
Bai Yan noticed the movement and frowned slightly.
He was about to kick the guy away, but Ye Beiyu acted like it was just an accidental touch and let go before he could make a move.
Ye Beiyu finally struggled back to the surface, soaked through, water droplets clinging to his lashes. He bit his lip, looking utterly pitiful.
"Senior Brother..."
Ye Beiyu's face went even paler, looking truly heartbreaking. He called out softly to Bai Yan, his hands still groping tentatively.
Bai Yan got what he wanted. He just raised an eyebrow with a soft scoff and turned away without hesitation, stepping out of the pool.
But with his back to Ye Beiyu, he exposed himself completely to the other's gaze, unaware of the barely concealed greed burning in those eyes.
Bai Yan dried himself with spiritual energy, then grabbed a clean robe and draped it loosely over himself.
He turned back to look at Ye Beiyu, still soaking in the water, looking pitiful and disheveled. He gave a slight nod, his voice tinged with disdain.
"Hurry up and get yourself together, then come put the medicine on me."
"Okay, Senior Brother."
Ye Beiyu responded obediently, lowering his eyes to stare at the hand that had touched Bai Yan's ankle, then silently clenched it.
Bai Yan didn't pay much attention to Ye Beiyu's little antics. He walked barefoot to the bed and lay down.
He watched Ye Beiyu still struggling with an indifferent gaze, and lazily urged him on.
"Hurry up, you little good-for-nothing."
—Reader Warning—
First, this is a dual male lead story. Both are pure and devoted to each other. If you don't like it, leave now.
Second, darling Yan is NOT a good person. Get that straight—he's the villain. He is NOT a good person!!!!
Third, don't use your brain, because the author doesn't have one.
Alright, toss your brain aside and let's enjoy the book happily (biting a rose) (spinning) (kiss left) (kiss right) (cool exit) (๑ゝω╹๑)
