Chapter 124: Why Fear an Ambush?
The day of the operation arrived.
Outside Changhu Town, on the southern shore of the long, narrow lake.
Anton stood on a flat rock by the lakeside, his gaze crossing the water toward the distant Changhu Town.
The morning light had just peeked over the eastern mountain ridge, dyeing the horizon a pale gold. The lake's surface reflected the faint dawn, shimmering gently.
He had arrived a little earlier than the appointed time.
While he waited, Anton didn't waste any time. Within his Qi Sea, nine drops of Dark Heavy Water slowly rotated, silently absorbing and refining True Essence in their daily cultivation.

Anton looked toward the sound. Two black dots were streaking in from the south at high speed. In the blink of an eye, they passed through the morning mist and landed not far from the lake.
The one in the lead was a middle-aged human man, tall with broad shoulders.
