Chapter 223: Smith Arrives

The sudden sound of gunfire shattered the early morning peace of the manor. Elder Ye was still on the phone with Ye Yuanhang, Thomas was still waiting for Elder Ye’s reply, and all the Black Glove members in the convoy had their guns raised.

However, Emily had opened fire. Dual-wielding submachine guns, she unleashed a frantic hail of bullets at the security personnel and the people trailing behind Elder Ye! At this moment, she looked exactly like a female assassin from a movie—cold-blooded, ruthless, and stylish!

Terrified, Ye Zisu wet herself, squatting on the ground and screaming.

Elder Ye was completely bewildered; the phone even slipped from his grasp and fell to the ground. From the receiver, Ye Yuanhang’s loud roars could be heard...

Moments later, every security guard in sight lay dead. Emily hauled Ye Zisu up and shoved her into the arms of a Black Glove member. "Take her to the car!"

Thomas walked back to the car window. Lin Jian said calmly, "Tell the old man that once we find Ziqiu, we’ll let his granddaughter go. Drive away!"

Lin Jian never stepped out of the car from start to finish! Since Ye Ziqiu wasn’t here, there was no need for him to get out. Naturally, he also instructed Emily to search the entire city for Ye Ziqiu, checking every single hotel.

The convoy departed, leaving a yard strewn with corpses.

Ye Yuanhang returned with his men. However, upon seeing the dozen or so corpses and the pale-faced Elder Ye, he roared, "What on earth are the Black Gloves trying to do? Where is Ziqiu?"

Elder Ye looked up at his son.

"She... I don’t know. You know her temper. If she refused to get in the car, what could I do?" Ye Yuanhang said angrily. "But rest assured, Dad, I will fight the Black Gloves to the bitter end."

Elder Ye sighed. "You should figure out how to find Ziqiu first. Zisu was kidnapped by them."

"What?" Ye Yuanhang was shocked to hear Elder Ye’s words. He had forgotten that his daughter was still staying here; he was the one who told her to come back.

"It’s all because of this Baihu Girl..." Ye Yuanhang bellowed.

Elder Ye sighed and closed his eyes. His son had completely lost his mind, blaming everything on Ziqiu. As a father and a grandfather, he didn’t know how to make a choice anymore!

Although Ye Yuanhang claimed he would fight the Black Gloves to the end, he didn’t actually have the strength to do so. Moreover, with his daughter in their hands, he had no choice but to compromise. After dealing with the corpses at the villa, he immediately contacted the Chinese Association to help search for his niece, focusing primarily on all the hotels in the city.

At the same time, the Black Gloves were also looking for Ye Ziqiu. For a time, it seemed as though all the members of both major groups were going to turn San Francisco upside down!

Ye Yuanhang managed to contact Thomas. Thomas only asked for Ye Ziqiu’s phone number and warned him that he had better find her soon; otherwise, they would not be responsible for Ms. Zisu’s safety!

Furious, Ye Yuanhang could only deploy more manpower.

However, an entire day passed. After dark, neither the Black Gloves nor the Chinese Association had found a single trace of Ye Ziqiu! Her new phone number couldn’t be reached either.

Instinctively, Lin Jian felt that something had happened.

In the dead of night, a lone girl on a pitch-black suburban highway with dozens of kilometers to go! Along the way, she would have been scared, worried, crying, and helpless. Furthermore, Migu Country was not safe at all. What if she encountered bad people halfway?

"Yes, bad people on the road!" Lin Jian stood up abruptly and said, "She might not have entered the city! She might still be on that road, or maybe someone passing by took her. Check the surveillance cameras! Look into all the vehicles that passed through that road last night. Right now!"

With that said, Lin Jian suddenly leaped out the window! The moment he was outside, he vanished into thin air!

SWISH!

He flew toward the suburban highway, then expanded his Thought along the road to search everything within an eight-hundred-meter radius! After searching back and forth twice, however, he still found no valuable clues.

Three hours later.

Lin Jian got into the car that Thomas had driven over. By now, the vehicles on this road had multiplied. They were all men dispatched by Thomas; Thomas had even driven over personally to join the search.

"Thomas, put pressure on Ye Yuanhang. Tell him that if we can’t find Ye Ziqiu, or if something has happened to her, the entire Ye Family will be buried with her!"

Murderous intent flared in Lin Jian’s eyes at this moment; he was truly furious! The Ye Family was simply inhuman! Making Ye Ziqiu go to a hotel in the middle of the night? And then abandoning her on a suburban highway?

Lin Jian had already decided that, once this was over, he would definitely kill Ye Yuanhang. The guy possessed absolutely no humanity.

Right at that moment, Thomas’s phone rang. Thomas picked it up and glanced at it, his expression turning ugly. "Mr. Lin, it’s Smith from the Superpower Association."

"Answer it. Let’s see what he wants!" Lin Jian frowned.

Thomas hurriedly answered. The moment the call connected, Smith sneered, "Thomas, your bar isn’t doing so well, is it!"

"You’ve come to San Francisco? You’re at my bar?" Thomas exclaimed in shock.
