Chapter 26: Take Them All Down
Chapter 26: Take Them All Down
The rolling shutter door of Ruyi Business Consulting Co., Ltd. was yanked down with a loud RATTLE!
The massive racket instantly alerted the people upstairs. Several lackeys hurried over to the staircase and peered down.
"Damn, San, someone just pulled down our shutter!" one of the lackeys shouted.
In the second-floor hall, the guys playing pool and messing around on their phones all stopped at the same time. They stared in disbelief, convinced they had misheard.
Who would have the guts to cause trouble at Ruyi? Did they have a death wish?
"Who the hell are you, kid?"
"Are you sick in the head?"
CLATTER!
Fourteen or fifteen lackeys swarmed over.
At that moment, Lin Jian chuckled. "Don’t misunderstand, guys, don’t misunderstand. Long told me to pull it down. He’s going to enforce gang rules."
"Uh..."
Lin Jian was acting entirely too calm. Plus, he had mentioned Long and enforcing gang rules. What rules? Why didn’t they know about this?
Since they hadn’t figured out the situation yet, they didn’t dare continue cursing. If this guy really was Long’s friend, wouldn’t they just be asking for trouble?
However, while the others didn’t recognize Lin Jian, the two guys who had just been at the Agricultural Bank District with Huang Mao certainly did. Wasn’t this punk from the same neighborhood as Lin Jian?
"Wait, that’s not right! Long, Huang Mao! This kid is here to wreck the place!" one of the sharper lackeys suddenly yelled toward the office.
SWISH!
Huang Mao burst out of the office, closely followed by a shirtless Long.
"Huh? It’s you?" Huang Mao exclaimed in surprise. Why was this kid here?
"Who is he?" Long demanded with a dark expression.
"He’s... he’s from Lin Jian’s neighborhood. We bumped into him when we were asking around about Lin Jian," Huang Mao said in confusion.
Hearing this, Long suddenly reached out and slapped Huang Mao hard on the back of the head.
"Dumbass."
After cursing, Long looked Lin Jian up and down a few times. "You’re Lin Jian, aren’t you?"
Lin Jian gave him a thumbs-up. "A boss is a boss for a reason. You’re way smarter than Huang Mao!"
"Ah?"
Huang Mao and his two lackeys gaped in shock.
What the hell? This guy was Lin Jian? Just a moment ago, he had lied and told them he had a grudge against Lin Jian! Had this bastard really tricked them right to their faces?
"Well, I was just planning on bringing you here tonight. Since you delivered yourself, it saves us the trouble," Long sneered. "Don’t blame us. Someone paid good money for one of your legs, so we’re only going to break one of your legs. Naturally, you can call the cops.
"But you saw it yourself today. Huang Mao and the others already scouted your place.
"So, if you call the cops, we’ll have to have a nice little chat with your family!"
A cold glint flashed in Long’s eyes. "Do it! Break one of his legs and throw him out!"
He was issuing a warning before making a move. It meant that if Lin Jian dared to call the police after getting his leg broken, they would go after his parents, making him responsible for bringing disaster upon them.
WHOOSH!
As soon as Long gave the order, a guy holding a pool cue swung it right at Lin Jian. The others swarmed him all at once.
With Long here, and this being their home turf, this kid actually dared to come to their headquarters and provoke them? Wasn’t that just seeking death? And so, over a dozen people attacked him in a flurry of fists, feet, and pool cues, outnumbering him heavily.
However, when it came to fighting, everyone here could only be considered an amateur. They only knew how to swing wildly and throw a few random kicks. But Lin Jian? He was a professional.
He moved almost before his opponents even struck!
When the guy swinging the pool cue had it halfway in the air, Lin Jian had already closed the distance. They were already close, and when Lin Jian pressed in, the pool cue became useless, unable to generate any force. Lin Jian supported the man’s arm with one hand and ruthlessly thrust upward with the other!
CRACK!
The first lackey’s arm bent at a horrifying ninety-degree angle, and he dropped to a squat with a blood-curdling scream. Pain of this magnitude could cause a person to briefly lose consciousness. The fact that this lackey hadn’t fainted proved he had incredibly strong Willpower.
Naturally, Lin Jian didn’t pause for a second. His palm shot forward in another thrust, delivering a heavy blow straight to the second lackey’s jaw! It was lucky the guy hadn’t stuck his tongue out. Otherwise, the forceful collision of his upper and lower teeth would have severed it completely. Even so, the second lackey was sent flying through the air before crashing heavily onto the floor.
Immediately after, Lin Jian kicked the third lackey right in the back of the knee. As the man lost his balance and fell, Lin Jian slammed his knee into his face, sending a mouthful of yellow teeth flying.
The fourth lackey’s fist was just inches from Lin Jian’s face, but Lin Jian dodged with a swift sidestep, grabbed his wrist, and twisted.
CRACK! The wrist was dislocated.
Next came the fifth, the sixth, the seventh...
Lin Jian’s hand Speed was incredibly fast. Despite being outnumbered, every single one of his strikes severely injured an opponent. It was the purest form of technique—the art of martial arts. He seamlessly integrated this technique into the brawl. So, no matter how many men they had, taking them all down hardly cost him any effort.
Moreover, he possessed an unfathomable Thought, along with the enhancement of immense Power. To him, these dozen or so goons were nothing.
In just a few breaths, Lin Jian fought his way from the staircase all the way to the pool tables. He then shoved the very last lackey—excluding Huang Mao and Long—underneath one of the tables!
By now, Huang Mao was completely stupefied. Long was dumbfounded.
They were veterans of street fights, but they had never seen anything like this. The opponent was agile, blindingly fast, overwhelmingly strong, and adept at using his enemies’ momentum to injure them. It was like watching an action movie—absolutely spectacular!
But it was also utterly terrifying!
Cold sweat dripped down Long’s forehead, while Huang Mao felt a strong urge to wet his pants. This bastard wasn’t just a good fighter; he was a goddamn killing machine.
"Come on, Long, let’s play a game of pool." Lin Jian grabbed a cue and grinned. "Huang Mao, rack ’em up."
"Uh, this..." Huang Mao stood rooted to the spot, too terrified to move.
And how the hell was Long in any mood to play pool with Lin Jian? His brothers were sprawled all over the floor, crying and screaming in agony. Play pool, his ass!
"Brother, I was wrong. I take back what I said earlier. How about we make friends?" Long figured a smart man knew better than to fight a losing battle. He would admit defeat today and slowly get his revenge later.
Lin Jian tossed the pool cue onto the table. "Boring!"
Pulling out a cigarette, he lit it, took a deep drag, and said, "Su Zhiwei gave you fifty thousand, right?
"I won’t ask for much. Give me a hundred thousand, and we’ll call it even.
"And don’t even think about refusing. Refusing just proves your leg isn’t worth a hundred grand."
Long froze. Did that mean if he didn’t pay up, this guy was going to break his leg?
"Fine, wait here." Long was incredibly pragmatic and made his decision in an instant.
He wasn’t stupid. He knew he stood absolutely no chance against this guy, so it was better to be straightforward about it. Otherwise, if he actually got beaten or had his leg broken, it would be even more humiliating in front of his lackeys. Right now, it was just a matter of handing over a hundred thousand. It wasn’t a big deal.
Naturally, he made sure to firmly engrave this grudge in his mind.
He turned around and headed back into the office. A moment later, he walked out holding a hundred thousand in cash and carefully placed it on the pool table.
Lin Jian glanced at the money and smiled. "Alright, that’ll do. We’re even. But make sure you tell Su Zhiwei that things between him and me are far from over."
With that, Lin Jian grabbed the cash and headed downstairs.
