Chapter 33.2

Song Wanqing received news that Qin Yutong had been scared to death and fell. She was now in the hospital.

Song Wanqing laughed out happily. It would’ve been perfect if she could’ve seen Qin Yutong’s expression. If Qin Yutong tries to get closer to Luo Tianyuan again, she’ll have other moves up her sleeve!

Song Wanqing felt sad when she thought about Luo Tianyuan.

She liked him so much, it was to an extent that she was willing to make the move and reach out to him despite knowing that their relationship wouldn’t last. Yet, he turned away and found someone else!

Thankfully nothing actually happened between him and Qin Yutong, if not, Song Wanqing would go crazy.

She couldn’t accept the fact that she was merely one of the options, and even worse, she was the option that wasn’t chosen.

She still had Luo Tianyuan on her mind. Hence, her blind date, the son of a rich man from the capital city, who was also born with a silver spoon in his mouth, wasn’t willing to be her lackey.

After a few dates where she showed no interest, he also lost interest in her.

This made the Song family furious.

While Song Wanqing was wallowing in her sorrows over Luo Tianyuan, her father, uncle, and older brother were in the study room. They were angry over her decision.

“I don’t know what Wanqing is thinking. He’s the famous son from the Chen family. Young Master Chen really liked Wanqing at first, he asked her out multiple times. And what does she do in return? She either rejects him, or doesn’t pay attention to him during their date. I gave him a call today, and things aren’t looking good. I think this agreement is going to fall through.”

Song Chaoyang sounded furious towards the end.

He knew how their family business was doing. It was getting worse as the days went by. If they didn’t do something about it immediately, the business would be in an even worse shape by the time it was passed down to him.

Other than fixing the internal matters within the company, he felt like external relationships were also crucial to their success. In this era, the wealthy married within their income bracket. In other words, marriage was a fool-proof method to link two rich families together. They’ll be able to help each other and share each other’s wealth.

Song Chaoyang only had one younger sister, so he had hopes that she’ll be able to obtain the greatest benefits for their family.

When they were younger, there was certainly sibling love between them. He’d even gotten into a fight for her.

However, now, he had all his hopes in her that she’ll get engaged to Young Master Chen. This way, their family would be able to form connections with other wealthy families from the capital city and expand their business.

Who would’ve expected his sister to be so useless?

Does she even know that she’s part of the Song family? She’s enjoyed all the benefits of being born a Song, she should repay them!

“What’s going on?” Song Wanqing’s father — Song Ronghua, asked with furrowed brows.

Song Chaoyang hurried to report on the issue. “She has her whole heart on a man named Luo Tianyuan. Father, I feel embarrassed to say this. Do you know that Luo Tianyuan is actually a single father with a daughter who’s in primary school? It wouldn’t have been as bad if he were wealthy, but he’s only an employee in a transportation company. Other than his looks, there’s nothing good about him! Wanqing is bewitched by him.”

Song Ronghua remained silent for a moment. “What’s actually going on? Explain.”

Thus, Song Chaoyang told his father about the relationship his sister and Luo Tianyuan had. This included Luo Tianyuan’s family history, which in Song Chaoyang’s words, implied that it wasn’t even worth mentioning.

Song Ronghua tilted his head to the ceiling. “If it’s not worth mentioning, just get rid of him. Don’t let him pursue and bother Wanqing any further.”

He paused before saying, “Our family needs to be presentable and save face. Oh ya, what was his name again?”

“Luo Tianyuan…”

“Be kind to Luo Tianyuan, just let him know that he should stay away from my daughter. Chaoyang, remember this, you’re representing the Song family whenever you step out of this house.”

“I understand, father.”

Song Ronghua looked at his younger brother, who had been silent the whole time. “How are things going at Shenzhen?”

“Not good,” Song Xinhua sighed. “I’ve been liaising with one of the managers of Smile-yan Fashion. He has never met the company’s owner either, and it seems like the owner is a foreigner. The company’s vice CEO lives in Shenzhen, however, he’s very under the radar, and never attends networking events. I don’t know where to start.”

The Song family had many factories in Ning City. Cloth manufacturing was one of their biggest profit generating units. They had access to machines and raw materials. However, their business has been going downhill over the past two years. Thus, they’ve been eyeing the businesses in Shenzhen.

Everyone knew that Smile-yan Fashion had the highest sales volume and their revenue was a few times of their competitors. They even had collaborations with overseas brands, which helped boost their profits.

This year, Song Ronghua set the mission for his subordinates to create ties with Smile-yan Fashion. If they could become the suppliers of Smile-yan Fashion, the Song family would be able to regain their glory from the olden days.

Song Ronghua spoke in a low voice, “I don’t care what tactics you use, we have to find a way to establish a relationship with Smile-yan Fashion.”

Song Xinhua was in a tough spot. Nevertheless, he succumbed to his older brother’s command. He begrudgingly said, “Fine, I’ll try my best.”
