03: Let’s Study Magic part 2

 

Even when children released their mana at twelve, an instructor capable of healing magic always had to be present. Even if they succeeded, they would normally end up completely exhausted, both physically and mentally.

Small children didn’t have the mental strength or stamina to dissolve their mana or endure the suffering. Far from getting it to circulate, they would only cause it to harden further. Once that happened, the mana in the mass could never be made to circulate again.

The exact reason wasn’t yet clear, but it was thought that the soul might be rejecting the mana.

Apparently, leaving it in that state could lead to a fatal illness. Things might be all right if it could be removed, but this world didn’t seem to have the medical technology to do that easily.

Either way, you’d probably die… Scary, scary.
