Chapter 150 - 149: The Xiao Family’s Revenge

Over the following days, Ye Xuan split his time between investigating the Butterfly matter and taking care of Yang Bingyu.

He cooked up all kinds of delicacies for her every day, and within a week, she had visibly filled out.

They had originally planned to keep her pregnancy a secret for a while, waiting until the first trimester passed before telling the Yang family. For some unknown reason, however, the news of her pregnancy was leaked just a few days later. Suddenly, a torrent of abuse, rumors, and gossip came crashing down on Yang Bingyu.

Pregnant women were already prone to mood swings, and after reading the comments under the news articles, Yang Bingyu was so furious that she barely ate a thing all day.

This made Ye Xuan frantic with worry, but no amount of coaxing seemed to help. Just as he was racking his brain for ways to persuade her to eat, his phone suddenly rang.

The moment he saw the caller ID, Ye Xuan nearly sliced his own finger while cutting fruit.

It was Lin Aoxue.

They hadn’t contacted each other since their last argument. Ye Xuan had been doing his best to avoid thinking about her, actively distancing himself from her.

She was probably calling because of Yang Bingyu’s pregnancy.

Ye Xuan hesitated for a long time, unable to muster the courage to answer. He owed Lin Aoxue far too much. Now that Yang Bingyu was pregnant, he felt even more ashamed to face her.

After the call timed out, Lin Aoxue didn’t dial again.

Ye Xuan paused for a second before pressing the answer button.

An unfamiliar voice came through the receiver, but the words caused Ye Xuan’s pupils to shrink instantly.

"Ye Xuan, if you want your woman to live, come see me at the Lin family’s villa right now."

That was all the person said before hanging up.

Ye Xuan’s aura changed in an instant. He immediately called White Snake, only to find that the call couldn’t be connected. His heart skipped a beat and sank to the bottom of his stomach.

Lately, White Snake had practically been protecting Lin Aoxue from the shadows twenty-four hours a day. An ordinary person wouldn’t even be able to lay a finger on her. This meant that whoever took her was no small fry.

Leaving everything else behind, Ye Xuan hastily tossed a brief explanation to Yang Bingyu and sped off in his car toward the Lin family’s villa.

Halfway there, Night Rose suddenly called him.

"Ye Xuan, you can’t go to the Lin family’s home! The Xiao family hired the Three Great Vajras of Elephant Country. They’re waiting for you there right now.

"White Snake has already been captured by them. If you go now, you’ll just be throwing your life away!"

Night Rose’s anxious warning entered Ye Xuan’s ears, making his gaze grow even colder.

Without another word, Ye Xuan hung up the phone with a sharp BEEP. He slammed on the gas pedal, kicking his speed up another notch.

Listening to the busy tone on the line, Night Rose wore a complex expression.

Sure enough, Ye Xuan’s claim that he didn’t love Lin Aoxue was a lie. Look at how incredibly tense he became the moment something happened to her.

Meanwhile, at the Lin family’s villa.

Lin Aoxue and the rest of the Lin family were surrounded in the living room by over a dozen murderous-looking bodyguards. The atmosphere was terrifyingly silent.

A middle-aged man sat right in the center of the room. Behind him stood three burly men who looked like literal vajra statues.

"Lin Aoxue, you claim you’ve cut all ties with Ye Xuan. Let’s see if he comes to save you," the middle-aged man sneered arrogantly, flicking the ash off his cigar as he looked at her.

Initially, Lin Aoxue had adamantly refused to call Ye Xuan. The missed call earlier was actually made by Lin Guodong, who had snatched her phone away.

Unfortunately, Ye Xuan hadn’t answered.

Seeing that the call went unanswered, the middle-aged man had dialed Ye Xuan himself. He had originally planned to have White Snake notify Ye Xuan, but the Three Great Vajras had been too heavy-handed and ended up severely injuring White Snake instead.

White Snake was now tossed in the Lin family’s wine cellar, left to fend for himself.

"Xiao Feng, this matter has absolutely nothing to do with my family! If you want to kill someone, take it out on me!" Lin Aoxue demanded, looking at the middle-aged man with haughty defiance.

Xiao Feng was the third son of the Xiao family and Xiao Ran’s uncle. After what happened to Xiao Ran, the old madam of the Xiao family had dispatched Xiao Feng to Jianghai City. His very first order of business upon arriving in Jianghai City was to find Lin Aoxue and use her to lure Ye Xuan out.

"You will die. And your Lin family won’t escape either," Xiao Feng replied coldly, taking a drag from his cigar.

Lin Aoxue’s beautiful face paled at his words. "I’m willing to trade my life for his! Why do you have to wipe us all out?"

"Trade your life? Do you really think the life of a descendant of my Xiao family can be compared to the likes of you?" Xiao Feng cast a chilling glare at Lin Aoxue.

"Not only will I slaughter everyone in your Lin family, but I will also chop Ye Xuan into mincemeat.

"This is what happens when you go against our Xiao family. Anyone connected to this matter must die."

Xiao Feng spoke slowly, but his tone dripped with ruthlessness. The murderous intent in his eyes made Lin Aoxue shudder.

"Murder is illegal! Xiao Feng, do you honestly think your Xiao family is above the law?

"This is Jianghai City! If you dare to touch us, you’ll pay the price!"

Her heart was pounding wildly, but she tried to use the law to intimidate Xiao Feng.

Seeing Lin Aoxue’s aggressive attitude, the Three Great Vajras standing behind Xiao Feng shifted on their feet, ready to step forward. Xiao Feng waved a hand to stop them.

He then tossed his cigar onto the floor and viciously crushed the butt under his shoe.

"In this day and age, whoever has power and influence is the law. Even if I annihilate your entire Lin family today, I will still leave Jianghai City completely unscathed.

"Tonight, your Lin family and Ye Xuan are all going to die."

He looked at Lin Aoxue and cracked a grin. "You are quite pretty indeed. No wonder my dear nephew took a fancy to you. Don’t worry, I won’t let you die just like that.

"I’ll sell you to Elephant Country to be the lowest class of prostitute. I’ll make you wish you were dead."

Lin Aoxue was so infuriated that she was at a loss for words to curse Xiao Feng. The people of the Xiao family were more despicable and shameless than the last. It was clearly they who were in the wrong, yet they were coming after her for revenge.

Where was the justice in that?

Xiao Feng didn’t get angry. Instead, he laughed even more wildly. "This is the consequence of offending our Xiao family."

Lin Guodong was pale with fright. Upon hearing Xiao Feng declare that he would kill them no matter what, he dropped to his knees with a loud THUD.
