Chapter 154 - 153: The Truth of the Matter

"Didn’t you already call an ambulance? Whether they live or die is up to fate now." When she said this, Lin Aoxue’s eyes were terrifyingly cold.

After finishing the water, Lin Aoxue fell silent for a moment before asking, "Won’t Yang Bingyu be angry with you staying here with me?"

Hearing her mention Yang Bingyu, Ye Xuan paused. When he had gone to rescue Lin Aoxue that day, he had already explained the situation to Yang Bingyu. He had expected her to throw a fit, but to his surprise, she had been incredibly calm. She hadn’t said a word and simply let him go. "Can we not talk about her right now? Your only job is to recover from your injuries," he said tiredly, placing the water glass back on the table.

Silence fell over the hospital room. Lin Aoxue pursed her lips, lost in thought. After a long while, she spoke again. "Why did you come to save me? Didn’t you say we were already..."

Before she could finish, the door was suddenly pushed open. Night Rose walked in carrying two insulated lunch boxes.

"Because he loves you. The things he said before, breaking up with you, were just to create a false impression.

"He wanted those who hold a grudge against him to mistakenly believe that he no longer cares about you, so they wouldn’t target you."

Before Ye Xuan could even speak, Night Rose laid everything out. It was too late for him to stop her.

Hearing this, Lin Aoxue stared at Ye Xuan, her face full of disbelief. "Is it really as she says?"

If he truly had no feelings for her, he wouldn’t have secretly assigned White Snake to protect her, nor would he have rushed to the Lin family’s home so recklessly upon hearing she was in danger.
