Chapter 157 - 156: Causing Trouble at the Hospital

"Xue’er, I have to go back tonight. I need to accompany Bingyu for her prenatal checkup tomorrow. Don’t worry, I’ll come see you whenever I have time."

After hanging up the phone with Yang Bingyu, Ye Xuan took Lin Aoxue’s hand and spoke with an apologetic look on his face.

Lin Aoxue put down her phone, squeezed his hand in return, and offered a faint smile.

"It’s okay, I understand. You should spend more time with her in the coming days. She is pregnant, after all, and needs to stay in a good mood."

Lin Aoxue meant every word from the bottom of her heart. She genuinely hoped that Yang Bingyu would have a peaceful pregnancy and safely deliver the baby in six months.

Touched by her understanding, Ye Xuan leaned in, planted a gentle kiss on her forehead, and said softly, "Be good. Focus on recovering in the hospital and take good care of yourself."

After bidding Lin Aoxue farewell, Ye Xuan went to the next ward to check on White Snake. He gave him some instructions before leaving the hospital.

Not long after he left, a van suddenly screeched into the hospital driveway. Lin Jiaxing and Lin Yexing were the first to rush out of the vehicle. Followed by seven or eight burly men, they marched aggressively toward the VIP ward.

"Hey, who are you people? This is the VIP inpatient department! You can’t just barge in here without permission!"

Seeing the group trying to force their way in, the security guards at the entrance quickly stepped forward to block Lin Jiaxing and his thugs, stopping them with stern expressions.

"Damn it, get the hell out of my way! Where is Lin Aoxue? Is she here? Tell her to get her ass out here!" Lin Jiaxing slammed his iron pipe violently against the reception desk and roared at the top of his lungs.

Ever since Lin Aoxue announced she was severing ties with the Lin Family and resigned as the vice president of the Lin Group, the entire corporation had been paralyzed. Partners had backed out of signed contracts one after another, claiming that unless Lin Aoxue returned to the Lin Group, they would never do business with the Lin Family again.

At first, Lin Guodong had tried calling Lin Aoxue to have her step forward and resolve the mess. However, she had simply changed her phone number, completely cutting off any chance for the members of the Lin Family to reach her. Left with no other choice, they had come to the hospital to force her hand.

"This is a hospital! Please keep your voices down! Settle your personal grudges privately and stop causing trouble here!"

At that moment, the head nurse came out. Standing in front of Lin Jiaxing with her hands on her hips, she glared at him and scolded him.

Lin Jiaxing stared at the woman, his eyes filled with undisguised disgust at her stout figure. He gave the head nurse a vicious shove, intending to show her who was boss. However, not only did the push fail to move her an inch, but the rebound actually forced him to stumble half a step back.

The young nurses watching the scene snickered.

A chorus of screams erupted from the bystanders, everyone certain the head nurse was about to get her head bashed in. But what happened next made everyone’s jaw drop.

A short, thin man had somehow appeared in front of Lin Jiaxing. His hand clamped down on the iron pipe like an eagle’s talon. The man’s eyes were chillingly cold. A single glance was enough to completely terrify Lin Jiaxing.

The man gave the iron pipe a hard yank, pulling Lin Jiaxing forward by his own momentum.

The man delivered a swift kick, sending Lin Jiaxing flying backward until he crashed heavily into Lin Yexing. Both brothers collapsed to the floor, groaning in pain.

"Who the hell are you?! Do you even know who I am? How dare you hit me? Do you have a death wish?!" Lin Jiaxing roared, pointing an accusing finger at the man’s nose as he struggled to scramble up from the ground.

He tried to use his status to intimidate the stranger, but the man’s next words nearly made him vomit blood in anger.

"Just two pieces of trash from the Lin Family. Do I need to know you?"

Beside him, Lin Yexing was trembling with fear. Hiding behind Lin Jiaxing, he poked his head out and barked an empty threat, "You! Don’t go too far! My sister’s husband is the eldest young master of the Su Family, Su Xiaobai! If you dare touch the two of us, you’re dead meat!"

Even now, they still clung to their connection with Su Xiaobai, treating him as their ultimate backing. They had zero self-awareness, completely oblivious to the fact that the Lin Family’s current downfall was inextricably linked to him.

"I don’t even need to lift a finger to deal with two pieces of trash like you. Don’t let me catch you in this hospital again. Now get the hell out of my sight!" The man smiled wickedly, completely ignoring Lin Yexing’s threat. After coldly tossing out those words, he turned and walked toward the VIP ward.

"Damn it! Who said you could leave?! Freeze!"

Humiliated in front of everyone, Lin Jiaxing refused to let it go. He suddenly pulled a gun from his pocket and fired a shot directly at the man.

As the gunshot echoed, the entire inpatient department erupted into chaos. Patients and nurses scrambled to escape, not daring to stay a second longer for fear of getting caught in the crossfire.

Hearing the shot, the man’s body twisted like a nimble snake, miraculously dodging the bullet.

Lin Jiaxing was completely dumbfounded. He had aimed right at the man’s heart, and he had fired when the man was completely off guard. He wondered how on earth the man had dodged it.

After evading the bullet, the man slowly turned back around. This time, a trace of murderous intent lingered in his eyes.

"You actually have the guts to shoot at me. Tell me, how do you want to die?"

The man looked at Lin Jiaxing with icy indifference, as if gazing at a corpse. That terrifying stare made Lin Jiaxing panic. The hand holding the pistol trembled violently, and he could barely speak.

"D-d-don’t come any closer! I’ll shoot if you take another step!"

The man gave Lin Jiaxing a wicked smile and stepped toward him, closing the distance step by step.

"So you want to be shot to death. Alright, I’ll grant your wish."

The overwhelming aura suffocated Lin Jiaxing, making it hard for him to breathe. The previously arrogant bodyguards were so terrified they didn’t even dare to make a sound. They cursed their luck; if they had known this job would be so difficult, they never would have taken it!

They were just temporarily hired muscle, brought in by the Lin brothers for a few hundred bucks. They had initially thought dragging an injured woman out of a hospital would be easy money. Now, they wondered how things had escalated into this nightmare, regretting their choices and wishing they had just gone to move bricks at a construction site instead.

"I-I-I really mean it! I’ll shoot!" Lin Jiaxing was truly scared senseless by this point, his legs shaking uncontrollably.
